Chapter 429 Laura is Going Abroad

James had a hunch, and he was spot on. Pamela was totally trying to seduce him, and she wasn't being subtle about it.

If James agreed to go upstairs with her now, she'd be all in, ready to give him everything.

James' actions today had completely won Pamela over, and she was at a loss for how to repay him. She figured the best way was with her body.

Pamela knew she probably couldn't be James' actual girlfriend, but she didn't care about that right now. She thought, even if she couldn't be his girlfriend, so what?

To her, being James' lover was enough. Titles didn't matter to her.

James wasn't clueless; he knew exactly what Pamela was aiming for.

After all, her behavior in the car earlier had already given him some hints.

But James had no intentions towards Pamela at this moment. He couldn't betray Laura, and he had always seen Pamela as just a friend.

Pamela noticed James hadn't said anything for a while, hesitated, and asked him again, "Mr. Smith, do you want to come to my place?"

"No, I've got stuff to do later!" James hesitated for a moment and casually made up an excuse.

Pamela was taken aback by James' response, a flicker of disappointment in her eyes.

She understood what James meant.

"Mr. Smith, are you really not coming up?" Pamela seemed a bit desperate, grabbed James' arm, and asked him excitedly.

"No, maybe another time!" James replied casually. He hadn't sorted things out with Laura yet and wasn't in the mood to deal with Pamela.

Pamela bit her lip after hearing James refuse again and didn't say anything more.

James opened the car door and got out, then walked away.

Pamela was stunned for a moment and suddenly realized the Ferrari wasn't her car but James', so she hurriedly shouted, "Mr. Smith, why are you getting out? I should be the one getting out!"

James turned to Pamela and then said with a smile, "I bought this Ferrari just for fun and didn't plan to keep it, so I'll give it to you. I didn't take the key with me."

Pamela looked at James, completely shocked. She never expected James to give her the car!

Pamela knew James' Ferrari cost nearly twenty million dollars, but to James, it was just for fun. She couldn't wrap her head around the kind of person James was, buying such an expensive car just for kicks.

James had bought the car thinking he would soon lose his inheritance rights, so he wanted to splurge one last time. But now that he had regained his inheritance rights, he didn't care about the car.

He also didn't want to reveal his identity and thought living like an ordinary person was pretty nice.

Driving this sports car to school would be too flashy, so James decided to give it to Pamela.

"Mr. Smith, I can't accept it, it's too expensive!" Pamela reacted and quickly got out of the car, chasing after James and shouting excitedly.

James looked at Pamela with a faint smile and said softly, "I can give you shares worth billions of dollars, so what's this car? It would be useless fro me to keep it, and I don't like driving. Besides, you're the company's general manager now; you need a decent ride!"

Pamela looked at James with her charming eyes, not knowing what to say for a moment.

"The rear of the car got hit. You can take it to the repair shop when you have time, and the repair costs can be charged to the company," James continued when he saw Pamela not speaking.

"Mr. Smith, are you really giving me this car?" Pamela bit her lip and asked softly.

"Of course!" James nodded lightly and then walked towards the street ahead.

"Mr. Smith, there's something I don't get!" Pamela stood still for a couple of seconds and shouted loudly.

James slowly turned around and asked softly, "What is it?"

"If you're not trying to sleep with me, why are you so nice to me?" Pamela asked excitedly.

James was stunned for a moment after hearing Pamela's words, then replied, "Because when I was at my lowest, you still treated me as a friend, so you deserve all this. Although this money may seem like a lot to you, it means nothing to me. You don't need to worry much, just consider it a thank-you gift!"

With that, James turned and left.

Pamela stood there in a daze, her expression extremely complicated.

She didn't know how to describe her feelings. She felt she might not even be qualified to be James' lover.

Half an hour later, James took a taxi back to his place.

James didn't return to the villa but to his narrow rental apartment because, in his mind, this was his home.

After getting home, James washed up briefly and then lay down to rest.

There was less than a week left before the end of summer vacation, and James felt this might be the longest summer vacation he had ever had.

So much had happened in the past two months.

James lay on the bed, recalling the events of the past two months and thinking about how he could get Laura's forgiveness.

At that moment, James' phone suddenly rang.

James quickly took out his phone and looked at the caller ID.

"Lily?"

James was stunned when he saw the name on the phone.

James didn't know why Lily was calling him so late, but his gut told him it must be related to Laura.

So James quickly answered the call and asked softly, "Lily, what's up?"

"James, Laura is leaving the country tomorrow. Do you want to come and see her?"

Lily's voice came through.

James was stunned on the spot upon hearing Lily's words!
