Chapter 114 A Carefully Designed Trap

Meanwhile, inside the classroom, Michael, Jennifer, Ashley, Elbert, and others were sitting in their seats chatting, showing no intention of leaving the classroom.

A few minutes later, most of the students had left the classroom.

Only Donna remained, sitting in her seat with a conflicted expression on her face.

At that moment, her backpack contained the class funds she had just collected, and she was contemplating whether to take the money with her.

Michael and the others knew very well that if Donna took the class funds now, their plan would be ultimately thwarted.

So Michael turned his head and gave Jennifer, Ashley, and Sandra a look.

Jennifer quickly grasped the situation, rose from her seat, approached Donna, and cheerfully exclaimed, "Donna, why haven't you departed yet? Let's head to gym class together!"

"I..."

Donna opened her mouth to speak, but Sandra came over, grabbed Donna's arm, and said anxiously, "Donna, what are you doing? If we don't go now, we'll be late! The gym teacher has a bad temper, and we'll get scolded if we're late."

With that, Jennifer and Sandra pulled Donna out of the classroom.

Michael hesitated for a moment and then followed the girls out of the classroom.

Once Donna and the rest of the group departed, Elbert was the sole occupant left in the classroom.

All the finance students had already gathered in University of Lumina, East Campus Stadium and formed their squads, except for Elbert, who was still absent.

"Where's your class's sports representative?"

At this moment, a burly, bald, middle-aged man walked up to the group with an unhappy expression and shouted.

"Sir, Elbert went to the bathroom; he should be here soon!"

Michael quickly shouted in response.

"This is unacceptable! The sports representative is late for gym class!"

The gym teacher frowned, looking very displeased.

"Sir!"

At that moment, Elbert came running out of breath from the direction of the academic building .

"What were you doing? How can you be late for gym class as the sports representative?" The gym teacher glared at Elbert and shouted angrily.

The students in the class, upon hearing the gym teacher's words, all showed schadenfreude expressions.

Typically, Elbert would assert his dominance and intimidate anyone who dared to challenge him, leveraging his role as the sports representative.

Now that Elbert was getting his comeuppance, they couldn't be happier.

"Didn't expect him to have his day!"

Paul muttered under his breath as he looked at Elbert.

"I had to go to the bathroom urgently!"

Elbert explained in a humble tone.

"Enough with the excuses, start taking attendance!"

The gym teacher threw the attendance book at Elbert and then found an excellent spot to play on his phone.

Elbert began taking attendance.

After completing the attendance, Elbert directed his attention towards the gym teacher and uttered, "Teacher, everyone is here. Are we doing the fitness test today?"

"I told you last time, first run a lap around the track, then the girls can do free activities, and the boys will play soccer, and finally, we'll do the fitness test. What's wrong with you? Can't you remember such simple things?" The gym teacher shouted angrily.

"Teacher, I forgot to bring the soccer balls," Elbert pretended to be helpless and said softly.

"Then what are you waiting for? Go get them!"

The gym teacher was on the verge of losing it. Usually, Elbert wouldn't make such mistakes, but today, he was late and forgot to bring the soccer balls.

Elbert couldn't help but smile inwardly at the gym teacher's words.

He actually knew what to bring today, but he deliberately didn't get them so he could send James back to the classroom.

Given Elbert's usual clueless nature, he couldn't have come up with such a meticulous plan; it was all Michael's idea.

At this moment, Elbert was quite impressed with Michael.

"James, go back to the classroom and bring the soccer balls. Everyone else, start the fitness test!" Elbert shouted at James.

"Elbert, you forgot to bring the stuff, why should James go get it?" Paul sensed that Elbert was intentionally creating obstacles for James, prompting him to exclaim in discontent.

"Yeah, the classroom is so far from the field, why should James go alone?" Tyler also shouted.

"I'm the sports representative, and I decide who goes. That's my authority! Besides, I need to supervise the fitness test. James has always done well in gym class, so why can't I send him?" Elbert shouted with wide eyes.

"James probably can't carry all those soccer balls by himself. I'll go with him!" Donna suddenly said.

Elbert was stunned by Donna's words.

If Donna went back to the classroom with James, their plan might be exposed.

At this moment, Michael, Jennifer, and the others also showed a hint of concern on their faces.

"Donna, today's fitness test is important. You shouldn't go back. Besides, it's not that many things!" Elbert hesitated and said with a smile to Donna.

"But..."

Donna opened her mouth to speak.

"It's okay, and it's just a few soccer balls. I can carry them myself. I'll go back alone!" James suddenly stood up and said expressionlessly.

Elbert, Michael, and the others smiled smugly at James's words.

They had thought this might be troublesome, but James volunteered to go back alone, making things much more straightforward.

"Alright, James, hurry up and go, and come back quickly!" Elbert shouted at James.

James had no idea this was a trap set by Elbert and the others, so he didn't hesitate and walked towards the classroom.

Ten minutes later, James returned to the field with a basket of soccer balls.

By this time, the class had finished the fitness test.

Paul and Tyler were resting under a big tree. Seeing James return with so many things, they couldn't help but angrily say, "Elbert is too much, making James carry all that alone!"

"These soccer balls aren't that heavy. No need to make a big deal out of it!"

James replied expressionlessly.

"That's just you, James. Anyone else wouldn't have gone..."

Paul's phone suddenly rang before he could finish his sentence.

"Evelyn, what's up?"

Paul answered the phone with a smile.

"Paul, what are you doing? I don't have any classes this afternoon. How about I come over and hang out?" Evelyn said with a smile.

"Sure, come over this afternoon!"

Paul replied quickly, then turned to James and said softly, "By the way, Evelyn, is your roommate Sarah coming too?"

Paul seemed to want to set up James and Sarah.

"Paul, why are you asking? You don't still want to introduce Sarah to your broke roommate, do you? Sarah is so pretty and comes from a wealthy family; she would never be interested in James. And because of what happened last time, Sarah was mad at me for days. Just let that loser give up; Sarah will never like him!" Evelyn shouted excitedly.

"Alright then!"

Paul glanced at James, feeling a bit awkward, and replied.

"Wait for me this afternoon, I'm hanging up!"

With that, Evelyn hung up the phone.
