Chapter 81 Forgot the Bank Card
Not long after, Kimberly hurriedly ran to James with a contract in hand.
She softly said, "Mr. Smith, the contract is ready. How do you plan to pay for the house?"
"Credit card!" James replied nonchalantly.
"Alright."
Kimberly quickly nodded, then gestured for James to follow her, smiling as she said, "Mr. Smith, please come this way to make the payment."
"Okay!"
James stood up and followed Kimberly and Pamela toward the front desk of the sales office.
The other sales ladies in the office were very curious and followed behind James and the others.
At this moment, James was surrounded by numerous beautiful women, which felt quite pleasant.
If James hadn't inherited the ten trillion dollar fortune, he might never have had the chance to experience such a feeling in his lifetime.
"Mr. Smith, please have a seat," Kimberly said as she proactively pulled over a chair for James.
James sat down without hesitation.
"Mr. Smith, the villa you are looking at is priced at 57.8 million. Are you planning to pay by card?" the receptionist asked James nervously.
"Yes!"
James nodded lightly and reached into his pocket to take out his American Express Black Card.
But as James reached into his pocket, a look of helplessness flashed across his face.
James suddenly remembered that he had changed pants after taking a shower last night. His American Express Black Card was in the other pair of pants, meaning he didn't have his bank card with him.
Seeing James sitting still, Kimberly couldn't help but softly remind him, "Mr. Smith, you can swipe your card now!"
James turned to look at Kimberly and said softly, "Can I come back tomorrow to make the payment? Please hold the villa for me."
Everyone was puzzled upon hearing this.
They all looked at James with confused expressions.
"Mr. Smith, why do you need to come back tomorrow to pay?" Kimberly asked, stunned.
"Because I forgot to bring my bank card today!" James replied calmly.
Kimberly and the other sales ladies' faces changed instantly upon hearing this, looking at James as if he were a fraud.
"Mr. Smith, are you joking? Buying a house is a big deal, and now you're telling me you forgot your bank card?"
Kimberly's face turned ugly, and her tone became cold.
"Buying a house is a small matter to me," James replied calmly from his chair.
To Kimberly and the others, a 50 million-dollar villa was an unattainable dream.
But to James, this amount of money was nothing, so he never took buying the villa seriously.
Moreover, James hadn't planned to look at houses today; he only agreed because Pamela called him and he had nothing else to do in the afternoon.
"Mr. Smith, buying a villa might be a small matter to you, but all our staff have been busy for you, and now the contract is ready. You're telling us you didn't bring your bank card and will come back another day. Who's going to cover these losses?" Kimberly questioned James softly.
Kimberly's attitude towards James had completely changed, reverting to her previous disdain.
She began to suspect that James was an actor hired by Pamela to mess with her.
After all, if it weren't for Pamela's words, Kimberly would never have believed that James, who looked so shabby, could afford a 50 million dollar villa.
"I never said I wouldn't buy it."
"But you're not paying now. Where will I find you tomorrow?" Kimberly replied expressionlessly.
"I won't run away over a mere 50 million."
James, already in a bad mood from being misunderstood by Linda repeatedly today, spoke more harshly due to Kimberly's sarcasm.
"If 50 million is such a small amount to you, then pay it now!"
Seeing James's tone become agitated, Kimberly was more convinced of her suspicion, thinking James was exposed and thus less calm.
At this moment, Pamela couldn't stand it anymore and shouted at Kimberly, "Kimberly, don't talk to Mr. Smith like that."
She was nervous. Others might not know James's identity, but Pamela did.
After all, James had casually bought a villa in her sales office and given it to Stephanie. Pamela was the only one who believed James genuinely forgot his bank card and would pay tomorrow.
Kimberly became agitated and shouted at Pamela, "Pamela, did you bring this guy here to mess with us? He didn't even ask the price before saying he wanted to buy a villa. Now the contract is ready, and he tells me he forgot his bank card. Do you think we're fools?"
"Mr. Smith said he would buy the villa, so he will. Even if he didn't bring his bank card today, he can pay a deposit and complete the payment tomorrow," Pamela replied coldly.
"Fine, since you say so, I'll believe him this once. Let him pay the deposit!"
Kimberly was convinced James was a fraud hired by Pamela and didn't believe he could pay the deposit.
"How much is the deposit?" Pamela asked Kimberly.
"500,000 dollars!" Kimberly replied coldly with her arms crossed.
"Mr. Smith, why don't you pay the deposit now and complete the payment tomorrow?" Pamela whispered to James.
"I don't have 500,000 on me either," James replied calmly from his chair.
Because he had changed pants after showering, both his bank cards were in the other pair, and he had no money on him.
Pamela was stunned and looked helpless upon hearing this.
She couldn't believe that James, who had once spent lavishly in her sales office, couldn't even come up with a 500,000 deposit now.
If James had forgotten his bank card and couldn't pay 50 million in one go, it was understandable.
After all, 50 million was a large sum, and it was not easily accessible.
However, as a wealthy heir, not being able to come up with 500,000 was hard to believe.
