Chapter 402 Are You Impotent?
"Are you serious?" James asked Savannah, confused.
"Absolutely!" Savannah nodded, then added, "I can have your child, but you need to agree to two conditions."
"Go ahead," James replied, trying to stay calm.
"First, you need to keep me safe, and this stays between us. No one else can know," Savannah said, her tone serious.
"No problem," James agreed with a nod.
"Second, the kid has to be mine. If the Edwards family finds out, you gotta send me abroad and give me five hundred million dollars in cash to secure our future," Savannah continued, looking straight at James.
"Deal." James nodded again.
Savannah was taken aback by how quickly James agreed. She stood up, walked over to him, and said softly, "If you agree to these conditions, we can go to bed right now."
"Right now?" James was stunned. He hadn't expected Savannah to be so direct.
Savannah's expression remained calm. She had thought it through. Having a child with James might not be a bad idea. James was the heir to Willard, loaded with cash. If she had his child, her future would be set.
Staying with the Edwards family wouldn't end well for her. Matthew had his eyes on her, but with their father Damon still alive, he couldn't act on it.
If Matthew didn't take her, Damon would probably marry her off to some rich playboy. Savannah's status in the Edwards family was low; she had no say in her fate.
Whether she ended up with a rich second-generation or Matthew, she'd be someone's plaything. Once they got bored or she lost her looks, she'd be tossed aside.
So, Savannah figured having a child with James would solve her problems and secure her future.
"Are you sure you want to have a child with me?" James asked again, still trying to wrap his head around Savannah's sudden change.
"What? Are you scared?" Savannah sneered.
"I... I'm not scared. I just want to make sure you're not tricking me." James stammered.
Savannah replied firmly, "Why would I trick you? Come on!" She started to reach for her clothes, ready to take them off.
"Hold on a sec," James quickly stopped her, feeling a bit helpless. "There's no rush. We can take our time."
"I just finished my period last week, and I'm in my ovulation period now. If you're healthy, the chances of getting pregnant are high. Plus, I haven't been home for a while. If we delay, Matthew might get suspicious. So let's hurry up!" Savannah said, sounding like a completely different person.
James was speechless and felt pretty helpless. He never expected Savannah to be so proactive, almost like she was the one eager to have a child with him.
"Are you impotent? Didn't you make it clear just now?" Savannah teased, seeing James just standing there.
James gritted his teeth and said, "Who said I'm impotent? I just didn't expect you to agree so quickly. And even if I want to go to bed with you, it won't be here!"
"Where then? A hotel?" Savannah asked with a hint of disdain.
James heard the disdain in her voice, hesitated for a moment, then said, "Fine, let's go to a hotel."
"Okay." Savannah nodded, buttoned up her shirt, and walked out of the room.
James watched her leave, feeling utterly helpless. He never thought Savannah would agree so quickly and want to go to bed immediately. Her actions were driving him nuts.
James wasn't prepared for this at all!
Charles saw Savannah leave and quickly approached James, asking, "Mr. Smith, what's going on?"
"Savannah agreed to have my child," James replied, still in shock.
"She really agreed?" Charles looked doubtful, not expecting Savannah to agree so easily.
"Yes." James nodded.
"James, aren't you coming to get us a room? What are you standing there for?" Savannah called out provocatively.
James sighed, taking a deep breath before following her out.
"Thanks for your hard work lately," James said softly to Glenn's driver as they left the room.
"Mr. Smith, you're too kind," Noe replied with a smile. He glanced at Savannah, who was already at the door, and asked, "Mr. Smith, are you taking her with you?"
"Yes." James nodded and walked over to Savannah, opening the door for her.
