Chapter 213 Made a Million Dollars

James saw the look on Sylvie's face and couldn't help but gulp. Feeling a bit awkward, he asked, "Why are you staring at me like that?"

"Nothing, didn't you just say you wanted to make a bet with me?" Sylvie replied, her tone teasing as she sat down next to him, crossing her legs.

"So, have you decided what to bet on?" James asked.

"If Victor doesn't deliver food within three days, then I win, and you have to agree to be my boyfriend. Deal?" Sylvie said, licking her lips with a sly smile.

"Be your boyfriend?" James was taken aback.

A girl like Sylvie shouldn't have any trouble finding guys. James couldn't wrap his head around why she was so set on him.

'Does she know who I really am?' James wondered. But he quickly brushed off the thought. When she found out Victor was planning to come after him, her panic seemed real.

If Sylvie knew his true identity, she wouldn't be worried at all.

"So, what do you say? Do you dare to bet with me?" Sylvie asked, smirking.

"I told you, I have a fiancée," James replied calmly.

"Who cares? You can break up with her and then be my boyfriend," Sylvie said, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

"No. I just don't get it. You've got so many rich guys falling for you, why me?" James asked, genuinely puzzled.

"No reason, I just want to be with you. Is that so wrong?" Sylvie pouted.

James was at a loss for words.

"Do we have a bet or not?" Sylvie taunted.

James hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "We do"

He felt confident he couldn't lose, so he agreed.

"Alright, but if you win, what do you want from me?" Sylvie asked, her smile widening.

"You helped me find the person who framed me. You said I owe you a favor. If I win, let's call it even. Deal?" James proposed.

"Deal!" Sylvie agreed without a second thought.

James looked at her, his expression calm. He knew getting Victor to deliver food would be a piece of cake, so he was sure he wouldn't lose.

Sylvie thought the same. Victor was the eldest son of the Hudson Family, which had nearly a billion dollars in assets in Lumina City. Even if the Hudson Family went bankrupt, Victor wouldn't stoop to delivering food, so she felt confident too.

Meanwhile, at the entrance of Golden Fortune Casino, Jennifer and Sandra walked out. Jennifer's face was full of pride, her smile beaming. After getting five million dollars from James, Jennifer had been itching to spend it.

After all, she had gone from being just another person to a millionaire overnight and naturally wanted to live it up.

So, with Sandra's guidance, Jennifer found herself at Lumina City's most famous spot, Golden Fortune Casino.

Golden Fortune wasn't just a casino; it was a whole entertainment complex with restaurants, theaters, hotels, and more.

This place was a playground for the rich, where money flowed like water. The entrance fee alone was twenty grand, but for Jennifer now, that was pocket change.

At first, Jennifer was a bit jittery and only exchanged a hundred grand for chips. She found a Texas Hold'em table, a game she had played before with Michael at other casinos.

Jennifer played it safe, betting a thousand bucks each hand.

She wasn't there to make a killing but to soak in the casino vibe and snap some selfies for Facebook, showing off her visit to Golden Fortune.

But to her surprise, her luck was on fire that day.

In less than half an hour, her hundred grand turned into three hundred grand, catching a lot of eyes.

Jennifer loved the attention and started betting bigger.

Sandra sat next to her, green with envy.

In less than two hours, Jennifer had raked in over a million dollars!

For an average person, it is a lifetime's earnings!

But Jennifer had won it in under two hours.

If it were the old her, she wouldn't have dared to dream of such a thing.

"Sandra, this place you brought me to is amazing! I won a million dollars today. If it were before, I wouldn't have thought I could make this much money in my lifetime!" Jennifer said, grinning.

"Yeah, Jennifer, your luck is unreal!" Sandra said, envious.

"I don't think it's just luck. It's because I have money now, so I'm bolder. When you're bold, you can win big. If you only have a hundred grand, you're cautious and can't win!" Jennifer shared her newfound wisdom.

"That's true!" Sandra nodded and added, "But Jennifer, I think we should come here less often. You've already made over a million dollars today, which should be enough for a while!"

"Oh, don't be such a worrywart. My luck's been great lately. I think this is my big break, so I'm coming back tomorrow!" Jennifer said confidently.

"But what if you lose?" Sandra asked.

"Don't worry. I'll use the money I won today as my stake. If I lose it all, I won't come back. If I win, it's pure profit! I'm aiming to make five million dollars and then quit!" Jennifer said with a smile.

"That's true. Even if you lose, you won't be out anything. You're so smart, Jennifer!" Sandra said, realizing the logic.

"Of course! If I weren't smart, how could I have gotten five million dollars from that fool James?" Jennifer replied proudly, then hailed a cab to head back to school.
