Chapter 183 Kidnapped
"Yancy, why are you kneeling to this loser?" Xavier's eyes went wide as he saw Yancy kneeling before James.
Yancy, hearing Xavier, felt crushed and snapped back, "You kneel too!"
"Why?" Xavier asked, confused.
Yancy's response was a hard slap across Xavier's face. "I said kneel, didn't you hear me?"
"I..." Xavier started.
Yancy slapped him again, glaring. "Kneel!"
Xavier hesitated for a moment, then reluctantly knelt in front of James.
Yancy quickly knelt, too, looking terrified. "James, it's all my fault. I didn't know you were the chairman. If I had known, I wouldn't have dared to touch you!"
"Now you're scared, huh?" James asked softly.
"Yes, I am..." Yancy nodded quickly.
"If it weren't for Janet today, you wouldn't even get the chance to kneel and apologize. Got it?" James continued.
"I understand!" Yancy said, flustered.
"Alright, since you know you were wrong, I won't make things difficult for you," James said.
James had already slapped Yancy plenty in front of everyone, so he didn't want to drag it out.
Though James knew Terry could easily have Yancy and Xavier's legs broken, he felt it was unnecessary and didn't want to waste time on them.
"James, I admit it. This is all my fault. I'm an idiot, and I deserve whatever's coming to me!" Yancy, seeing that James wasn't pressing him any further, didn't bother to get up. Instead, he began slapping his own face repeatedly.
"Enough, stop the act!" James waved his hand, annoyed.
Yancy quickly stopped his self-flagellation and looked up at James, realizing that if James wasn't there for revenge, he must have something else in mind.
"I'm here to tell you to return the shares you took from Cynthia. Can you do that?" James asked softly.
"I can do that!" Yancy nodded vigorously.
"And also, I'll let today's incident slide, but from now on, you're responsible for the security of Stellar Lounge. If anyone causes trouble in Cynthia's bar, you'll be the first one I come after!" James continued.
"James, don't worry. I'll manage the bar well!" Yancy shouted excitedly.
"Good!" James nodded, then got up and walked out.
Terry followed James respectfully, and Yancy and Xavier quickly got up to see him off.
Just as James reached the door, he turned back and said calmly, "I don't want anyone to know my identity, so keep your mouth shut!"
Yancy was stunned for a moment, then quickly nodded. "Mr. Smith, don't worry. I won't reveal your identity!"
James gave Yancy a cold, unreadable glance, said nothing, and turned on his heel to leave the room.
A few minutes later, Yancy and Xavier saw James and Terry off into the car.
Yancy finally breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the car disappear down the street.
"Bro, who is this James? Why are you so scared of him?" Xavier still didn't get it.
"How dare you ask? Do you even realize the mess you caused today?" Yancy snapped.
"What mess?" Xavier stood there, clueless.
Yancy looked at Xavier with a hint of helplessness, then turned and walked back to the apartment complex.
Getting off with just a verbal reprimand from James felt like a miracle. James had shown remarkable restraint by not sending Terry to deal with him.
It was unfathomable that someone as influential as James would be hiding his identity and working as a bartender in a small pub. Yancy couldn't shake the feeling that he'd had the worst luck imaginable today.
Meanwhile, inside the Bentley.
"James, are you really going to let Yancy off just like that?" Terry hesitated and asked softly.
"I don't want to stoop to his level. Besides, he's your company's guy. If I had you cripple him, who would manage the Southern New District? Also, if Yancy were really crippled, it would put you in a tough spot as the boss. Let's just leave it," James replied expressionlessly.
He wasn't letting Yancy off because he was afraid of making a big deal out of it, but for Terry's sake.
"Thank you, James!" Terry felt touched and replied softly.
"It's nothing. If anyone should be thanking someone, it should be me thanking you. You've helped me a lot too!" James said lightly.
"I'm your guy, James. It's my duty to help you!" Terry said with a smile.
James looked at Terry and smiled, then said softly, "Alright, take me home."
"Okay!" Terry nodded quickly.
Half an hour later, Terry dropped James off at the entrance of Emerald Grove.
Because James didn't want anyone to see him with Terry, he got off at the entrance instead of letting Terry drive him in.
After entering the complex, James walked towards his building.
Just as James was about to step into the elevator, he suddenly heard a clamor of footsteps behind him.
It was already past 2 AM.
At this hour, the complex was deserted, so the sudden sound of hurried footsteps made James pause and look behind him.
Before he could even register what was happening, a heavy blow struck him on the head.
James felt his vision go black and collapsed to the ground.
"Bag him!" A voice sounded in James' ear.
Immediately, a sack was thrown over James' head.
James struggled to breathe and passed out.
The attackers, seeing James unconscious, said nothing and carried him into a white van.
The sound of high heels clicking on the ground echoed.
A sexy woman emerged from the corner of the complex, swaying her hips as she walked towards the van, a smug smile on her lips.
