Chapter 43 How Do You Know I Can't Afford It?

After leaving Moonlight Garden, James was completely unaware of the events transpiring at the restaurant. He didn't care either, as he trusted that Mark would handle things smoothly in his absence.

"I never expected my fiancée to be such a beauty. Unfortunately, she's not interested in me at all," James couldn't help but sigh softly. Although Laura was exceptionally pretty, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, James understood that two people who didn't love each other wouldn't have a good outcome.

Anyway, James only needed to fulfill the requirements in the will to secure the inheritance. He felt that his current relationship with Laura was good. They each got what they needed.

The present James was not the same as the old James. He had countless coquettes by his side.

"Hello, we have a new real estate here. Would you like to come in and take a look?" At that moment, a delicate girl in a white dress and a ponytail approached James, smiling.

Upon hearing this, James couldn't help but glance at the girl in front of him. Though her appearance was simple, she was exceptionally beautiful, at least more so than Jennifer.

With her bright and enchanting eyes as well as her fair and long legs, which were visibly exposed in front of him, she was tempting to touch.

"Sorry, I have something to attend to later," James responded, his mind preoccupied with Laura's words to him, making him uninterested in viewing the new real estate.

After these words, James turned to leave.

"Sir, could you please just have a quick look inside? Consider it as helping me out!" This young woman named Stephanie Lewis from the University of Lumina said hurriedly in a low voice.

James hesitated upon hearing her plea.

In fact, James had been considering purchasing a new real estate just the night before. Meeting a young girl struggling to distribute the flyers here indeed left an impression on him. Thus, he nodded and said, "Alright then, let's go in and have a look!"

"Thank you. How kind you are!" Stephanie exclaimed joyfully upon James's agreement.

"Never mind," James replied with a smile.

"Follow me," Stephanie said, leading James toward the real estate office.

Shortly after, James followed Stephanie into the office. However, as he stepped inside, he overheard a woman's angry voice. "Stephanie, what are you doing? Why are you bringing everyone into the office? What is this person doing here?"

James looked up to see a busty and uniformed beauty with high heels striding out of the office.

Around twenty-five years old, this stunning woman had captivating eyes and a body that seemed about to burst out of her tight black uniform.

The woman exuded extreme sensuality, akin to that of a fox, enchantingly captivating.

"Miss Gray, he is a client I just brought in!" Stephanie explained nervously to the woman.

"A client?" The female manager, with disdain in her gaze, cast a quick glance at James. She then scoffed and said, "Stephanie, are you out of your mind? This person doesn't look like someone who can afford a house. I doubt he can even afford a toilet. Even if I set requirements for you, you can't just bring in anyone like a garbage picker!"

Stephanie, feeling embarrassed, glanced at James. Indeed, James' attire that day didn't suggest someone who could purchase a house.

"Stephanie, this one doesn't count. We're closing in ten minutes. Hurry up and find another client!" the female manager impatiently shouted at Stephanie.

"Okay, Miss Gray!" Stephanie replied tensely and then walked out of the office towards the entrance.

However, at that moment, James reached out and stopped Stephanie. With a playful gleam in his eye, he asked the female manager, "What kind of person do you consider a client?"

Upon hearing this, the female manager couldn't help but smirk before answering, "Of course, a person who can afford to buy a house!"

"How do you know I can't afford a house?" James asked, his tone remarkably calm.

The female manager hesitated upon hearing James and then took a closer look at him before covering her mouth and giggling coquettishly.

Meanwhile, the other staff in the office burst into laughter upon hearing James' question, their gazes full of disdain towards him.

"I don't know about others, but you can't afford it! All the properties here are expensive luxury villas. Do you know how much it costs to buy a house here? This isn't a place for you," the female manager, striding in her heels, asked sternly.

"I have no idea," James replied, shaking his head lightly.

"Our cheapest villa here costs nearly ten million dollars. Do you think you can afford that? Such a place is beyond your reach. An average Joe like you will never be able to afford even a bathroom here. I advise you not to waste time and leave immediately," the female manager continued.
