Chapter 47 Sign Here

A few minutes later, Pamela approached James with the contract in hand. Leaning down, she coquettishly said, "Mr. Smith, I have prepared the contract for you. You just need to sign it."

Whether intentionally or not, Pamela positioned herself close to James, revealing her alluring cleavage as she asked, “I never mentioned buying this villa for myself. It's not up to my standards.”

"Mr. Smith, since this villa is not up to your standards, are you planning to give it away?" Pamela inquired, slightly confused, leaning towards James.

The staff and onlookers at the real estate office were bewildered by James' statement. After all, he had already paid for the property. Was he intending to gift it to someone?

“Stephanie, come over here!” Suddenly, James called out.

Stephanie instinctively hesitated, while Pamela grew somewhat puzzled.

If James wasn't purchasing the villa for himself, could he be considering gifting it to someone, especially as he beckoned Stephanie over?

This led Pamela to a daring thought. ‘Is James planning to present the villa to Stephanie?’

Stephanie, dumbfounded, stood rooted to the spot, clearly unsettled by the turn of events. She was still grappling with the incredulity of James swiftly buying an eight-million-dollar villa just moments ago.

"Stephanie, what are you waiting for? Mr. Smith called you over!" Frowning, Pamela urged Stephanie, who had stood motionless.

"Yes, Miss Gray!" Stephanie hurriedly responded, approaching James with a nervous demeanor. "Mr. Smith, is there something you need from me?"

"Sign on the contract," James replied calmly from the sofa.

The attendees were stunned.

It was apparent to all that James was intent on gifting the villa to Stephanie!

No one had anticipated that the unassuming James could secure the villa. Moreover, after acquiring it, he decided not to keep it for himself but to bestow it upon Stephanie, someone he had only just met.

The attendees regarded James with deep astonishment. To them, the situation felt surreal, akin to a scene from a TV drama. It was something they could barely conceive occurring in real life without witnessing it firsthand.

For James, the eight million was inconsequential, and he was not one to splurge unnecessarily.

He found the villa's location somewhat remote and unlikely to suit his tastes, so he opted to gift it instead.

His decision to present the villa to Stephanie stemmed from recognizing a shared bond. They had both experienced humiliation due to financial constraints.

"Mr. Smith, what are you saying? This villa is yours. I can't sign," innocently good-hearted Stephanie stammered, oblivious to James' intent.

"You sign. The villa is now yours," James declared calmly.

"The villa is mine?" Stephanie looked at James, dumbfounded.

"Yes, I intend to gift this villa to you." James nodded gently.

Witnessing this exchange, Pamela was taken aback and felt strangely out of place. Regret tinged her thoughts as she pondered why she hadn't treated James more amicably upon his arrival, refraining from mocking him.

At twenty-eight years old, after five years of hard work, Pamela had finally become a manager in the real estate office.

However, this period had taught her a crucial lesson that financial stability was paramount for survival in society.

Despite numerous suitors in the past, Pamela had turned them down as she deemed their wealth insufficient to meet her material desires.

She'd often fantasized about meeting a wealthy heir who could provide a life of luxury, fulfilling her aspirations of happiness.

Encountering James, wealthy and handsome, Pamela's dream lover, Pamela was overwhelmed by deep regret. She wished she had seized the opportunity to impress James earlier. Perhaps, if she had treated him better, the villa would now be hers instead of Stephanie's.

"Mr. Smith, this villa is worth over eight million. Why are you giving it to me, especially since we've just met today?" Stephanie inquired out of curiosity upon grasping James' intentions.

"There's no specific reason. I just feel this villa is beneath my expectations, so I thought of gifting it away. Today, you brought me here, which indicates a connection between us. I sense you may be in need of money, so after signing the contract, you can sell the villa to improve your current situation," James explained.

Stephanie, using her beautiful eyes to study James, understood that nothing came for free in this world. She anticipated that James would have some expectations from her concerning this gift.

For Stephanie, the eight-million-dollar villa represented an unattainable dream. If she were to sell it, she could potentially secure at least six million, affording the means to cure her father's illness and lead a prosperous life with her parents, negating the need for side jobs.

Should this scenario unfold, Stephanie believed that despite any sacrifices required, it would be an acceptable trade-off.
