Chapter 111 Becoming a Man Who Relies on Women

""Linda, to be honest, last night I truly felt something for you!" James confessed sincerely.

James, trying to ease the awkwardness, said to Linda.

"I was just joking with that last comment. Don't take it seriously!" Linda quickly explained."I didn't take it seriously."

James smiled and then continued, "By the way, how do you plan to deal with Rex?"

"Of course, I'm going to press charges against him. He actually attempted to drug and assault me. I will never let him escape the consequences!" Linda declared resolutely.

Just thinking about Rex made Linda's anger flare up.

If James hadn't shown up in time last night, she would have fallen into Rex's trap.

"Yeah, people like him shouldn't be let off!"

James agreed.

But just then, he suddenly noticed a familiar figure in his line of sight. "Nancy?"

James couldn't help but exclaim in his mind.

He never expected to run into Nancy here.

James was well aware of Nancy's personality. If she were to witness him exiting a hotel with Linda, she would undoubtedly jump to conclusions and inform Laura about it.

So James turned to head back into the hotel, but it was too late because Nancy had already spotted him.

"James, stop right there!" Nancy, with her bright eyes, shouted at James.

Hearing Nancy call James's name, Linda hesitated for a moment, then turned to James and softly asked, "James, is she your friend?"

"Yes," James replied helplessly.

He was feeling very frustrated because he never expected to run into Nancy at such a time.

Actually, Nancy wasn't just passing by. This hotel was located near Lumina School of Arts, and Nancy would walk this route almost every day on her way to school.

"So it really is you, you jerk!"

Seeing James's face, she couldn't help but curse in her mind, then turned to look at Linda beside James.

When Nancy caught sight of Linda, a glimmer of suspicion flickered in her eyes, and she strode purposefully towards James in her high heels.

Seeing Nancy approaching, James became even more helpless.

Today, Nancy was dressed very provocatively. She wore a short plaid shirt that accentuated her ample chest and tight beige denim shorts that hugged her hips, showing off her alluring curves.

Below that were her long, straight legs, which were flawless even without stockings. She wore pink sandals, and her toes were delicate and well-groomed.

"What do you want?"

Although Nancy was beautiful, James didn't have a good impression of her, so he asked with a frown and a sharp tone.

"No wonder you weren't at home when Laura and I visited last night. It seems you were out with another woman!" Nancy exclaimed, her tone filled with accusation." She pouted and shouted excitedly.

"Watch your words. Linda and I are just friends!"

James replied coldly, then turned to Linda and said, "Ignore her, let's go!""Stop right there. If you have nothing to hide, why are you in such a hurry to leave?"Nancy grabbed James's arm.

"What do you want?"

James asked impatiently.

Nancy sneered, then turned to Linda and said softly, "James, I didn't expect you to be able to trick such a beautiful woman into a hotel room. You really have some skills!"

"James and I are just friends, not what you think!"

Linda frowned, clearly annoyed by Nancy's comment.

"You two checked into a hotel together and yet you still claim to be just friends? I don't believe it." Nancy scoffed.

"Nancy, what do you want?" James shouted.

"I don't want anything. I just ran into you and came over to say hi."

Nancy glanced at the hotel and continued, "This hotel isn't cheap. Someone like you, who delivers food, shouldn't be able to afford it. Did you use the allowance Laura gives you to bring another woman here?"

Linda was stunned by this.

She began to suspect that Nancy was the sister of the woman she had seen at the apartment complex.

Linda realized that while the misunderstanding with Rex was cleared up, the issue of James being kept by a woman was still unresolved.

She had initially thought James being kept by Pamela was just a guess, but Nancy's words made her think she was right.

James really was being kept by a woman!

James said to Nancy, "What money I use to book a room is none of your business."

Hearing this, Linda became more convinced that he was being kept by a woman.

Otherwise, why didn't he refute Nancy?

"James, you have no shame, being kept and still acting so righteous!"

Nancy raised an eyebrow at James, then turned to Linda and said, "I suggest you stay away from James. He's just a broke delivery guy who uses the $2,000 Laura gives him each month to deceive people. He's utterly shameless!"

Linda looked at Nancy but said nothing.

"James, I'll definitely tell Laura about you checking into a hotel with another woman. I'll make sure she dumps you!" Nancy said to James, then turned and walked away.

He watched Nancy leave and sighed, not knowing what to say.

Meanwhile, Linda was looking at James with a strange expression.

"James, are you really being kept by a woman?"

Linda hesitated for a long time, then bit her lip and asked softly.

"Linda, it's not what you think."

James tried to explain.

"You don't need to explain. After all, we're just friends. Even if you're being kept, it has nothing to do with me!"

Linda coldly interrupted James, then walked towards the street.

"Linda, listen to me, I..."

James hurried after her.

"James, I already told you our relationship isn't so close. You don't need to explain anything to me!"

Linda shouted at James, then continued, "James, I know you like me. Even though you're poor, you're kind and treat me well. If you confessed, I might have accepted. But I never imagined you would become dependent on a woman. You've really disappointed me."

James stared at Linda, feeling helpless.

He had never said he liked Linda.

James did want a girlfriend, especially since his marriage to Laura was in name only. If Laura got a boyfriend, James would naturally want a girlfriend, too.

Linda was attractive and had a good figure, so she was within James's consideration, but it wasn't about liking or not liking her.

And he didn't know when he became a man who relied on women!

"James, you're a grown man with working ability. If you're broke, you can earn money. Why rely on a woman? It's pathetic!"

Linda sneered at James, then hailed a cab and got in.
