Chapter 237 A Gift Prepared for You
"Nancy, who exactly is your cousin's fiancé? How did he get in here? Is he really a VIP at Fairy Lake Resort?" Nancy's friend asked, her voice low and curious.
"I have no idea," Nancy replied, shaking her head, looking a bit lost.
Before, Nancy would've never believed someone like James could get into Fairy Lake Resort. But after that incident, her view of him had shifted a bit.
Maybe James just some broke student as she thougth.
"How could a loser like him be a VIP at Fairy Lake Resort? He must be here to work. Isn't it normal for a waiter to be here?" a girl suddenly shouted.
Everyone was stunned by her words.
"Yeah, look at his cheap clothes. How could he be a VIP? If he was really a guest, he'd dress better, right?"
"Totally, he must be a waiter!"
A few other girls chimed in.
Nancy, though, had her doubts. Logically, James couldn't be a VIP. But considering Laura gave him $20,000 a month, he shouldn't need to work as a waiter!
"That guy definitely isn't a waiter!" Nancy's friend suddenly shouted.
Everyone turned to her, puzzled.
"How do you figure?" Nancy asked softly.
"Nancy, do you know who just walked James into the resort?" the girl replied mysteriously.
"Who?" Nancy asked.
"He's the general manager of Fairy Lake Resort, Atticus!" the girl exclaimed.
Everyone was stunned, their faces full of disbelief.
If James was here to work, why would the general manager personally greet him?
Even an idiot could figure that out!
"The guy who walked James in is the general manager, and you saw how respectful he was to James. That means James definitely isn't here to work. Why would the general manager be so respectful to a waiter?" the girl continued, looking at Nancy.
Nancy watched James and Atticus walk away, confusion in her eyes.
The girls who had mocked James fell silent, not saying another word.
Because they knew the girl made a lot of sense!
"Could James really be a VIP at Fairy Lake Resort?"
"No way. How could he be a VIP?"
"Yeah, look at how shabby he looks. I could believe he's a waiter, but a VIP? That's just too crazy!"
The girls kept chatting, clearly not ready to accept the truth.
"Whether James is a VIP or not, I'm gonna find out!" Nancy said, frowning, and headed straight for the entrance of Fairy Lake Resort.
Her friends, just as curious, trailed behind her.
But by the time they got there, James and Atticus were already out of sight.
Nancy tried to push her way in, but two security guards stopped her, saying, "Sorry, Miss, the resort is closed today. You can't go in."
"Why can't we? That loser just did!" a girl behind Nancy shouted.
The guard couldn't help but chuckle and said, "That gentleman is a VIP at Fairy Lake Resort. Are you?"
Nancy and her friends were stunned, their faces full of disbelief.
They never expected James to actually be a VIP at Fairy Lake Resort!
"How is this possible? James is really a VIP here?" Nancy stood there, shocked.
What Nancy didn't know was that James wasn't just a VIP; he was the owner!
Meanwhile, James walked into the resort with Atticus leading the way.
As they entered, Atticus started explaining all the features of Fairy Lake Resort to James.
The place was empty and serene, with a misty atmosphere. The faint scent of grass and trees surrounded them, making it feel really peaceful.
Walking through the resort, James noticed many grand buildings around the large lake.
Fairy Lake Resort had more than just hot springs. There were hotels, casinos, and the famous Fairy Lake Clubhouse, known as a man's paradise.
The clubhouse was the most profitable part of the resort. If you had money, you could get any service you wanted there.
After the tour, Atticus smiled and said, "Mr. Smith, knowing you were coming today, I have prepared a gift for you!"
"A gift for me?" James asked, smiling.
The whole resort belonged to him, and Atticus had a gift for him?
"Yes, it's our first meeting, and I wanted to give you something special," Atticus replied with a grin.
"What kind of gift?" James asked, curious.
"You'll find out soon. This way, please," Atticus said mysteriously, leading James forward.
James glanced at Atticus and followed him without saying much.
