Chapter 295 I Have Something to Tell You

Seeing everyone looking at him, James immediately showed an awkward smile.

Actually, James's thoughts were very simple at the moment. If it could make Laura feel less troubled, he wouldn't mind going over to apologize to Irvin.

But James was worried that if Irvin's father, Elmer, saw him, his identity would be exposed, and things would get complicated.

"James, why are you still standing there? Say something already!" Joe's expression was extremely unpleasant at this moment, and he shouted at James through gritted teeth.

In everyone's eyes, James taking the initiative to apologize to Irvin was the simplest and most effective solution.

The benefits Irvin could bring to The Hall Family were incomparable to what James could offer. When Zachariah proposed this idea, he wasn't just considering the impact on Dorian but also Irvin's influence on the entire Hall Family!

"James, hurry up and say something!" Isolde frowned and shouted at James.

James stood there alone, looking at all the unfamiliar faces, appearing very helpless and lost.

It seemed as if the entire Hall Family was siding with Dorian, and no one was standing with James.

Just when James didn't want to argue about this issue anymore, a voice suddenly sounded behind him. "Why should James apologize?"

Laura strode over to James's side, glaring with her big, watery eyes, and spoke up, "First of all, it's James's freedom to refuse Jessa's invitation, and he's my fiancé. No matter what choice he makes, I will unconditionally support him."

She added, her voice firm, "Secondly, James doesn't want to hand over the sheet music because it was a keepsake from his mother. It's understandable that he doesn't want to give it away. So, I think James hasn't done anything wrong from start to finish. Why should he apologize to Irvin?"

Everyone was a bit surprised by Laura's words and looked at her with puzzled expressions.

"Laura, what nonsense are you talking about?" Isolde frowned and asked Laura.

Laura was unwaved. "I'm just telling the truth. If you want James to apologize, shouldn't you first figure out what he did wrong? If James didn't do anything wrong, why should he apologize?"

She sneered at everyone and then said softly, "You never considered James's feelings. You only care about the relationship between The Hall Family and the Hays Family and Dorian's future, right?"

"Laura, what are you talking about?" Gino shouted and then took a step forward, saying to Laura, "Even if James didn't do anything wrong, what's wrong with him apologizing to Irvin for Dorian's future? Is it that hard for him?"

"Why should James apologize for someone else's future? What do you take James for? What has your Dorian ever done for us?" Laura spoke up angrily.

"Yeah, you only apologize when you're wrong. James didn't do anything wrong, so why should he apologize to Irvin for Dorian?" Lily also walked to James's side and said expressionlessly.

"Are you all rebelling?" Gino was so angry that he couldn't speak, trembling as he spoke, then turned to Joe and said, "Joe, Laura is your daughter, and James is your son-in-law. What do you think we should do about this today?"

Joe looked helpless when he heard this. He didn't know what to do either.

"Alright, everyone, stop arguing!"

At this moment, Conrad suddenly shouted, then slowly stood up and looked at James and Laura.

Laura also stared at Conrad with wide eyes, not knowing how he would handle today's matter.

But as long as Conrad spoke, everyone had to follow his decision.

This was Conrad's usual way of doing things.

Slowly, Conrad concluded, "Laura is right. James didn't do anything wrong, so he doesn't need to apologize to Irvin!"

Everyone was stunned and looked shocked.

They never expected that this time, Conrad didn't side with his grandson Dorian but with the outsider James.

"Conrad, if James doesn't apologize, what about me?" Dorian shouted at Conrad with an agitated expression.

Conrad replied indifferently, "You don't need to worry about that. Tomorrow is my 80th birthday, and Irvin's father, Elmer, should come to celebrate. I will explain everything to Elmer, and Irvin shouldn't hold a grudge against you for today's events."

Conrad's idea was very simple: he would handle the matter himself.

Dorian nodded and didn't say anything further. After all, Conrad's solution didn't cause him any loss; it just didn't make James apologize, which made Dorian very uncomfortable.

The other Hall Family members also knew that Conrad's decision couldn't be changed, so they didn't say anything more.

James looked at Conrad with a touch of gratitude in his eyes.

After all, Conrad was the only person James knew who didn't look down on him because of his identity and was willing to speak up for him.

So now, James had a very good impression of Conrad.

"Since the matter is resolved, don't just stand here. Go eat!" Conrad waved his hand at everyone with a calm expression and then walked towards the dining room.

Everyone followed Conrad into the dining room with expressionless faces, starting an unusually quiet dinner.

No one spoke from start to finish, eating with their heads down, and the only sound in the villa was the clinking of cutlery.

An hour later, everyone had almost finished eating.

Conrad slowly stood up and looked at James, then asked, "James, are you done eating?"

"Mr. Hall, I'm done!" James quickly replied.

"Come with me; I have something to say to you," Conrad said and then turned to leave the dining room.

James hesitated for a moment but followed him out.
