Chapter 406 The Red Pill

James strolled out of the Sheraton Hotel, looking like he had a lot on his mind.

Charles spotted him coming out alone and raised an eyebrow in surprise.

But he quickly pulled himself together, rushed to open the car door, and walked over to James.

"Mr. Smith, what's the deal in there?"

Charles had a pretty good idea that James hadn't done anything to Savannah; otherwise, he wouldn't be out so fast.

"Savannah's still in the room. You deal with her!" James said, his face giving nothing away.

"Mr. Smith, what's going on?" Charles asked.

"That woman is trouble. She's trying to use this situation to blackmail me. I don't want her having anything on me, so you take care of it!" James told Charles.

"She's trying to use you?" Charles looked puzzled.

"Yeah, she was trying to seduce me, and if we hooked up, she'd use it against me!" James nodded.

Charles nodded, impressed that James had kept his cool and seen through Savannah's game.

Most guys wouldn't have been able to resist.

"I'll leave the rest to you!" James said softly, then headed down the street.

Charles stood there for a moment, sighed, and waved to the driver in the Bentley.

The driver got the signal and quickly opened the car door and stepped out.

"You got everything I asked for?" Charles asked the driver.

"Mr. Wilson, don't worry, I got it all!" The driver nodded.

"Good!" Charles replied, then walked into the Sheraton Hotel.

He had a quick chat with the receptionist to find out Savannah's room number, then headed upstairs with the driver.

A few minutes later, Charles gently pushed open the door to Savannah's room.

Savannah was already dressed and sitting quietly on the sofa, still trying to figure out why James had reacted the way he did and why her plan had failed.

But she knew Charles's people were waiting outside the hotel, so she didn't try to run. This was Charles's turf, and without Matthew's help, she couldn't get away at all.

"Miss Edwards, didn't expect you to mess up!" Charles said softly as he walked in.

"Mr. Wilson, what do you mean by that?" Savannah looked up at Charles, her voice calm.

Charles walked up to Savannah, gave her a once-over, and said softly, "I didn't mean anything by it. I just wanted you to have a kid with Mr. Smith to help him deal with the Edwards family. But I didn't expect you to try and use this to blackmail him. What really surprised me was that Mr. Smith saw right through your plan."

"You and I both underestimated James. He's not as simple as we thought!" Savannah replied with a smile, then looked up at Charles and asked softly, "Since my plan's been busted, what are you gonna do with me now? Kill me or let me go?"

"Killing you would be a waste, but letting you go just like that wouldn't be satisfying. So I thought of a way to make both you and Mr. Smith happy and make sure you lose convincingly."

With that, Charles turned and gave the driver a look.

Seeing Charles's signal, the driver walked up to Savannah and said, "Miss Edwards, I'm sorry."

"What are you gonna do?" Fear flashed in Savannah's eyes as she quickly stood up and shouted at the driver.

The driver didn't answer but pulled out a red pill from his pocket.

"What is that? What are you gonna do to me? Charles, I'm telling you, I'm from the Edwards family. If you dare to kill me, they won't let you get away with it!" Savannah seemed to lose it, shouting at Charles with a frantic expression.

"Miss Edwards, I already told you, killing you would be a waste!" A sinister smile appeared on Charles's face, and he coldly shouted at the driver, "Do it!"

Without hesitation, the driver grabbed Savannah's jaw and forced the red pill into her mouth.

The driver covered Savannah's mouth and shook her head violently.

The pill slowly slid down Savannah's throat and finally entered her stomach.

Charles watched Savannah intently, his face expressionless.

After seeing Savannah swallow the pill, the driver released her jaw and returned to Charles's side.

"What did you just make me take? What are you planning to do?" Savannah sat on the ground, her expression desperate, shouting at Charles.

"If you had given Mr. Smith a child, this would have been over. But you didn't take that chance. I'm different from Mr. Smith. He might go easy on you, but I'm always ruthless." Charles said coldly to Savannah, squinting his eyes.

Savannah's eyes widened, shouting, "What did you make me take? Answer me!".

"You'll find out soon enough!" Charles replied lightly, then walked to the sofa and sat down slowly.
