Chapter 413 That Sports Car is Mine!

James originally planned to follow the security captain to the security room and then find a chance to call Charles so he could talk to the captain.

But what James didn't see coming was bumping into Sharon before he and Rosalind even got inside the Innovation Hub Tower.

The security captain didn't recognize James, but Sharon sure did!

Sharon had been scheming to get close to James for days, so when she saw him, she was totally floored.

"Ms. Reed, if you don't have anything else, I'll take these two inside, alright?" Security captain Terrence said with a smile, not noticing the weird look on Sharon's face.

But Sharon ignored him and strutted up to James in her high heels, excitedly saying, "Mr. Smith, what are you doing here?"

James felt a wave of helplessness wash over him. He knew he couldn't hide anymore.

Both the security captain and Rosalind were stunned when they heard Sharon because it was clear she knew James; otherwise, why would she call him Mr. Smith?

"Ms. Reed, do you... do you know this guy?" Terrence asked nervously.

"Terrence, do you not want to work for Golden Peak Group anymore? Do you know who this is? You even dared to detain Mr. Smith, are you nuts?" Sharon shouted, her eyes wide with agitation.

Terrence was dumbfounded and nervously asked, "Sharon, who... who is this guy?"

"Mr. Smith is the chairman of Golden Peak Group!" Sharon yelled angrily.

Everyone was floored, their faces full of shock.

James had told Terrence before that he was the chairman of Golden Peak Group, but Terrence thought he was just bluffing. He never expected Sharon to back up James' claim, leaving him totally confused.

Rosalind, standing next to James, looked even more incredulous. She figured she knew James better than anyone else here. To her, he was just a broke student delivering food to get by. How could he suddenly be the chairman of Golden Peak Group?

"Ms. Reed, you must be joking, right? Isn't Mr. Wilson the chairman of our group? How could it be this guy?" Terrence said to Sharon with a bitter smile.

"You don't know anything..." Sharon started to explain.

Seeing things spiraling out of control, James quickly stopped Sharon and said softly, "Sharon, I think you should explain to everyone that I'm not the chairman of Golden Peak Group; I'm just a friend of the chairman."

Sharon was taken aback by James' words and gave him a suspicious look.

James, worried that Sharon didn't get the hint, gave her a quick wink.

Sharon, being sharp and knowing James liked to keep his identity under wraps, quickly caught on.

She smiled and said, "That's right, Mr. Smith is Mr. Wilson's friend. Terrence, you even dared to detain Mr. Wilson's friend? Do you not want to work here anymore?"

Terrence's face turned sour as he realized his mistake. Even though James wasn't the chairman, being friends with Charles was enough to make him suffer.

"Mr. Smith, I'm really sorry. I didn't know you were Mr. Wilson's friend. If I had known, I wouldn't have spoken to you like that," Terrence said, trying to smooth things over.

James looked at Terrence, thinking that if he had just let him go earlier, none of this would have happened.

"Can my friend and I leave now?" James asked, not wanting to waste any more time.

Terrence hesitated and then said, "Mr. Smith, you can leave, but your friend hit someone else's car in the parking lot. We need to talk to her about it. If the car owner comes and finds out their car was hit, we won't be able to explain it."

Rosalind looked at James and said softly, "James, you should go first. I did hit the car today, and I should take responsibility."

"Yes, this lady is very reasonable!" Terrence nodded with a smile. "Mr. Smith, don't worry. Since this lady is your friend, I'll help her talk to the car owner and try to reduce the compensation."

James felt a wave of helplessness wash over him. The car owner was standing right in front of them, but they had no clue.

James knew that if he kept hiding the truth, it would be pointless. And since Rosalind was planning to wait for the car owner, if he didn't reveal his identity, they could wait forever and never meet the car owner.

"Alright, you don't need to wait for the car owner anymore," James said, his face expressionless.

"Why not?" Rosalind asked, confused.

"Because that car is mine!" James answered directly.

"That car is yours?" Rosalind looked at James with wide eyes, completely shocked.

"Mr. Smith, stop joking with us. How could that car be yours?" Terrence said with a smile.

But Sharon's face remained calm. She knew that if James said the car was his, then it must be his. After all, she was the only one present who knew James' true identity.
