Chapter 53 Something Missing
Thirty minutes later, James arrived at the classroom. There were still a dozen minutes left before class, so the room wasn't very crowded yet. Paul, Tyler, and the others had not arrived.
James found a seat at the back of the classroom and took out his phone to figure out how to recover his StreamVerse account. Despite researching for a while, he couldn't make sense of it.
As more students filled the classroom five minutes later, Michael, Jennifer, Ashley and Sandra also appeared.
Upon catching sight of James, Michael shot him a glare. Remembering how James had embarrassed him at Moonlight Garden, Michael had been pondering about how to get back at James.
Jennifer, too, glared at James, feeling frustrated as Michael's business had been affected. She was also unhappy about losing out to James multiple times in various deals.
As for Ashley, the situation was more intense. When James had taken her to a hotel room in the past and asked her to undress, only to leave right after, she felt neglected. Even though James had not done anything, Ashley felt he should have.
Soon, the bell for class rang. Janet, dressed professionally in a shirt and a tight skirt, entered with light makeup, exuding allure.
Paul lit up his eyes upon seeing Janet. "Our counselor is too hot to handle! I'd be overjoyed to marry a woman like Janet!"
Tyler, excited, responded to Paul, while James couldn't help but reminisce about the time he caught a glimpse of Janet changing clothes in their dorm not long ago. Janet's alluring contours lingered in his mind.
Despite Janet's captivating presence, her expression appeared displeased as she stood at the lectern. "James, come with me," Janet said coldly, catching James off guard.
Hesitating for a moment, James stood up and inquired, "Teacher Carter, what's the matter?"
"For this class period, everyone will work individually. James, come with me!" Janet replied coldly, leading the way out of the classroom.
Although unsure of Janet's intentions, James took some pleasure in admiring Janet's slender and fair legs. To him, Janet's figure was undeniably mesmerizing.
After the students in the classroom saw Janet take James away, they also showed doubts. No one knew what happened.
"Tyler, do you think James offended Teacher Carter?" Paul seemed a little worried about James and couldn't help but whisper to Tyler.
"I don't know, James doesn't have anything to offend Janet!" Tyler was also very puzzled.
"If not, then things will be in trouble!" Paul knew very well that Janet was not so easy to mess with, so he was also very worried about James at this time.
Michael, Jennifer, Ashley and Sandra, on the other hand, looked happy.
They hoped something wrong would happen to James right now, so that he could get expelled from school.
Following Janet, James noticed she was heading towards the dorms without indicating any diversion. He silently trailed after her, pondering why Janet was taking him to the dorms.
"Teacher Carter, what is this about?" James hesitated, speaking to Janet.
"You will find out soon enough," Janet replied expressionlessly, continuing towards the dorms in her heels.
After a while, James followed Janet into the dorm. Once inside, Janet sat on the bed, crossing her fair legs gently. "James, you should be well aware of why I brought you here," Janet said to James.
Taken aback by Janet's words, James hesitated before responding, "Teacher, I really didn't peek while you were changing that day. Haven't I explained this to you already?"
"I'm not talking about that," Janet coldly retorted.
Perplexed, James asked, "Then what is this about?"
"Don't you think something is missing from my dorm?" Janet inquired.
"What's missing from your dorm?" James looked confused, feeling puzzled. He had only helped Janet move study materials to her dorm and hadn't taken anything with him, ruling out the possibility of something being lost.
"Do you intend to play dumb with me? Go to the balcony and see for yourself what's missing!" Janet pointed towards the balcony with an icy tone, challenging James.
Turning to the balcony, James perceived nothing amiss except for the sultry lace nightgown missing from the clothesline where it had previously hung.
"Teacher Carter, what is it that's missing from your balcony?" James queried, still perplexed.
Seeing James' baffled expression, Janet couldn't help but let out a cold laugh before saying, "James, I've been quite clear. Are you pretending to be clueless?"
