Chapter 107 Linda's Interrogation
At this moment, James's expression was very calm, giving off a sense of confidence, as if everything was under his control.
'Could it be that the person who helped me back then was James?'
Linda couldn't help but recall the things James had said to her before.
However, she was also unsure whether her speculations were indeed true.
Because she thought James was just a poor guy, and there was no way he could have so much money to tip her on StreamVerse!
"Please, stop hitting me, let me go, I know I was wrong!"
At this moment, Rex, who was being beaten by the crowd, pleaded painfully to Kevin and the others.
Kevin was also worried that continuing to beat Rex might lead to serious injury, so he turned to look at James, seeking his opinion.
"Do you still want to be beaten by them?" James took a step forward and asked Rex.
"No! I don't want to!"
Rex shook his head vigorously in fear.
"If you don't want to be beaten, then it's simple. Just confess all the bad things you've done recently, and I won't hit you anymore!" James said with a tone
"Bad things? I haven't done any bad things!" Rex shouted in confusion.
"It seems you still want to be beaten."
James shook his head in disappointment, then turned to Kevin and said, "Go on."
"Okay, James!"
Kevin nodded and walked directly towards Rex.
As Rex saw Kevin approaching, his face turned pale with fear, and he fell to his knees on the ground, desperately pleading, "Please, stop hitting me! I'll tell you everything, isn't that enough?"
"Go ahead." James replied expressionlessly.
Rex took a deep breath, then looked at James and asked, "Where do you want me to start?"
"Obviously, start from when you deliberately approached Linda!" James scolded expressionlessly.
Rex was stunned for a moment, then looked up at Linda and slowly said, "Linda, from the beginning, I was deceiving you. I'm not SuperSmith, nor am I a rich guy. I'm just a student at the University of Lumina!"
Linda was shocked to hear this from Rex.
Even though Rex had done such things to her today, she never doubted Rex's identity.
From the beginning, Rex had added her on Facebook using the SuperSmith account.
She thought Rex drugged her just to get her quickly.
"If you're not SuperSmith, how did you get on that account?" Linda asked Rex with a puzzled expression.
"Because I'm a hacker, and my major in college is computer science. I had been watching your streams at school and really liked you. But then SuperSmith appeared, and I thought his account was valuable, so I tried to hack it. To my surprise, the SuperSmith account wasn't even linked to an email and had no security measures. Hacking such an account was easy for me, so I hacked it and contacted you through it."
Rex paused, then continued, "But I didn't expect that the SuperSmith account would be so easy to hack. So I hacked it and contacted you through it."
Linda was shocked after hearing Rex's words.Hearing Rex's words, Linda dropped open her mouth in astonishment, her facial expression filled with disbelief.
She never expected things to turn out this way.
And what shocked Linda even more was that what James had told her before was true; Rex was not SuperSmith at all!
"You pretended to be SuperSmith just to trick me into sleeping with you, right?" Linda asked Rex softly.
"Yes, I thought you streamers would sell your bodies as long as a rich guy contacted you, and you would willingly go to a hotel with him."
"But I didn't expect you to be different from other streamers. You not only refused to go to a hotel with me, but you also only reluctantly agreed to be with me after I confessed to you so many times," Rex said in a low voice.
"If you're not SuperSmith, then Kevin apologizing to me voluntarily wasn't because of your intervention, was it?" Wide-eyed, Linda confronted Rex with great excitement, her voice filled with intensity.
"I don't know Kevin, so I couldn't have helped you with that. I just made up an excuse to leave quickly and I don't know who solved the Kevin issue," Rex replied helplessly.
Hearing this, Linda looked up at Kevin.
"Linda, the reason I apologized to you was because Mr. Campbell called me. Don't you know Mr. Campbell?" Kevin asked Linda.
"Who is Mr. Campbell?"
Linda's eyes showed a hint of confusion.
"You don't know Mr. Campbell? If you don't know him, why would he help you?" Kevin asked, puzzled.
Linda stood there for a moment, then turned to James and asked softly, "James, did you help me with the Kevin issue?"
Linda thought she didn't have many friends in Lumina City, and the only people who knew about her conflict with Kevin were James and Rex.
Since Rex had already admitted he didn't know Kevin, that left only James. And given Kevin's attitude towards James, Linda thought it was likely James who helped her. But now there was also a Mr. Campbell!
James looked at Linda, hesitating whether to tell her the truth.
"James, did you help me with the Kevin issue? Say something!"
Seeing James standing there silently, she took a step forward and asked him.
He hesitated for a moment, then said softly, "I didn't help you with the Kevin issue."
James had previously confessed to Linda that he was SuperSmith, but Linda didn't believe him. James did so only because he was worried Linda might be deceived.
But now that James felt Linda was no longer in danger, so he wanted to continue hiding his identity. He didn't want Linda to know he was actually a rich kid.
Because he thought that once Linda knew his true identity, their relationship would change.
"James, if you didn't help me with this, then why does Kevin listen to you?" Linda asked James excitedly.
