Chapter 98 Real-Name Membership Card

"How does James know the manager here?" Linda muttered with a very puzzled expression.

"James, I'm really sorry, the restaurant is just too busy today. If I had known you were coming, I would have definitely prepared a private room for you in advance!"

Mark broke into a cold sweat upon hearing James' words.

Charles was the owner of Moonlight Garden, and James was Charles' boss. How could Mark not understand the relationship here?

So when facing James, he didn't dare to show any neglect.

"No problem, I'll just find another place to eat!" James waved his hand and said, then turned to look at Pamela before stepping away.

"James, since you're here, I can't let you leave!" Mark hurriedly stopped James, nervously saying, "James, please wait a moment, I'll arrange a private room for you right now!"

Seeing Mark's enthusiastic hospitality, James felt it would be impolite to leave, so he decided to stay and see.

At this moment, the guests waiting in line inside Moonlight Garden were all looking at James with astonished eyes.

One had to know, Moonlight Garden was one of the top high-end restaurants in Lumina City, and most of the people who came here to dine were from the wealthy class of Lumina City.

As the manager of Moonlight Garden, Mark's status naturally rose as well.

But now, he was actually going out of his way to arrange a private room for James, which showed how much respect James commanded.

Rex also looked at James with a face full of shock.

Mark briefly communicated with the front desk, then turned and ran to James' side, smiling and saying, "James, we've arranged a VIP private room for you. Please follow me!"

"Alright!"

James nodded slightly, then walked directly towards the private room.

Pamela followed behind James with a face full of excitement. She felt it was a great honor to dine with someone as wealthy as James.

But just as James and Pamela were passing by Rex, Rex suddenly said, "James, it looks like you're not only being kept by a rich woman but also by the owner of this restaurant."

The guests in the restaurant were stunned upon hearing Rex's words because they knew James' identity, and no one dared to laugh.

James turned to look at Rex and said calmly, "Get him out of here!"

"Yes, sir!" Mark nodded.

James then led Pamela into the private room.

After James left, Mark hurriedly shouted to the security guards at the door, "Quickly! Get this guy out of here!"

The security guards rushed towards Rex upon hearing Mark's words.

"What do you think you're doing? I'm a member of this restaurant. Is this how you treat your members?" Rex shouted nervously as several burly security guards surrounded him.

"Are you a member of our restaurant? How come I've never seen you before?"

Mark looked at Rex with a hint of suspicion.

Because Moonlight Garden had very strict requirements for its members, each one needed to go through a rigorous screening process. Mark was familiar with the information of almost every member to better serve different customers.

"This is my membership card!"

In a panic, Rex took out the membership card he had borrowed, trying to prove his identity.

But he had no idea how foolish his actions were.

"May I see your membership card?" Mark asked softly.

"Of course!" Rex handed the membership card to Mark.

After receiving the card, Mark handed it to the front desk lady, saying softly, "Check the identity information of this membership card for me."

"Okay!"

The front desk lady nodded and inserted the card into the computer reader.

Upon hearing Mark's request, Rex's face changed instantly because he knew the membership card was borrowed and not his own.

"Linda, let's go!"

Rex, afraid of being exposed, tried to pull Linda away from the restaurant.

"Alright!"

Linda quickly nodded, wanting to leave with Rex.

But at this moment, Mark suddenly reached out to stop Rex, his face darkening as he said, "You can't leave yet!"

"Why can't I leave?" Rex stammered.

"Because your identity hasn't been verified yet!" Mark replied calmly.

"Mark Jackson, this membership card belongs to Mr. Grant of Horizon Enterprise!" The front desk lady's voice echoed through the restaurant.

Upon hearing this, Mark smiled slightly and said expressionlessly, "I've met Mr. Grant of Horizon Enterprise, and you are not Mr. Grant."

Rex looked at Mark in front of him, opening his mouth but unable to say a word.

Linda also looked at Rex with confusion because she couldn't understand why Rex would use someone else's membership card.

"Rex, what's going on?" Linda hesitated and asked Rex softly.

"Linda, actually, this membership card is borrowed!"

Rex knew he couldn't hide it anymore and confessed to Linda.

"This card is borrowed?"

Linda was speechless upon hearing this.

At this moment, Mark suddenly spoke up, "Since you've admitted it, things will be much easier!"

"Easier? What do you mean by that?" Rex asked Mark, puzzled.

"Our restaurant has a clear rule: anyone who uses or borrows someone else's membership card to enter the restaurant will be fined!" Mark said expressionlessly.

"Fined?"

Rex looked at Mark in disbelief.

"Yes, a fine of fifty thousand dollars!" Mark replied politely.

Upon hearing this, Rex frowned. Even someone as usually composed as him couldn't stay calm.

Because he didn't have even five hundred dollars on him, let alone fifty thousand dollars for a fine!

This was practically a death sentence for Rex!

To create the image of a wealthy heir in front of Linda, Rex had gone through great lengths to borrow a Moonlight Garden membership card from a friend.

He thought that showing the card would make Mark stop giving him a hard time.

But to his surprise, Moonlight Garden's membership cards were registered to specific individuals.

And to make matters worse, Moonlight Garden had a clear rule that anyone caught using or borrowing someone else's membership card would be fined fifty thousand dollars.

Rex had been spending lavishly to impress Linda, taking her to various famous spots in Lumina City. Although the expenses weren't huge, they still amounted to one or two thousand dollars a day.

To maintain his image as a wealthy heir, he had even rented a BMW and an expensive suit.

Most of this money was borrowed from friends, so Rex was already deep in debt and couldn't cough up fifty thousand dollars!
