Chapter 87 Gerald Morgan
Kimberly's expression immediately turned stiff upon hearing Leonard's words.
She glared and shouted, "Mr. Reed, what are you saying? You're actually going to fire me? Did you ask the chairman's opinion?"
Leonard seemed to have anticipated that Kimberly would use her connections to threaten him, and he replied calmly, "I don't know what the chairman thinks, but you caused such a big mess today, and you almost got Mr. Smith and Mr. Morris sent to the police station. Just that alone is enough for me to fire you!"
Hearing this, a trace of despair flashed in Kimberly's eyes.
She never expected Leonard to be so ruthless, completely disregarding her connections within the company.
At this moment, Sarah also felt deeply regretful. She hadn't expected that just because of something she said, Kimberly would have to pay such a high price.
Kimberly had slept with countless men and put in so much effort to reach her current position as the manager of the villa sales department.
But now, just because she offended James, a nobody, Leonard was going to fire her. Kimberly felt very aggrieved.
"Leonard, do you know who my boyfriend is? If you dare to fire me today, I will make you regret it!" Kimberly shouted emotionally.
"I don't care who your boyfriend is. No matter what, I'm firing you today!" Leonard growled in a low voice.
Leonard knew that the company's higher-ups had always supported Kimberly because of her boyfriend.
But in reality, Leonard didn't know who Kimberly's boyfriend was.
"Mr. Reed, I can tell you're really angry today. For my sake, give my girlfriend another chance."
At this moment, a young man in a white suit with a delicate appearance walked in with a smile.
Everyone turned to look at the young man upon hearing his voice.
James also glanced at the young man and found that he didn't recognize him, but somehow the young man seemed familiar.
"Honey, you're finally here. If you hadn't come, these people would have bullied me to death!"
Kimberly immediately became coquettish upon seeing the young man and quickly ran to him to complain.
At this moment, Sarah also breathed a sigh of relief because she knew her cousin's boyfriend had an impressive background, so James and Leonard probably couldn't do anything to Kimberly today.
'A nobody is still a nobody, even with some money.' Sarah thought as she looked at James again. In her eyes, even with money, James was still a poor nobody.
In today's society, having money didn't mean you could do whatever you wanted. Besides money, connections were even more important.
Kimberly's boyfriend stepped forward and asked Leonard politely, "Mr. Reed, what's going on here?"
"Mr. Morgan, what brings you here?" Leonard stammered.
From Leonard's expression, it was clear that Kimberly's boyfriend was someone significant.
"Kimberly just sent me a message on Facebook saying someone was bullying her, so I came over!" Mr. Morgan said as he put his arm around Kimberly's waist, and Kimberly leaned into his embrace, looking pitiful.
"Mr. Morgan, Ms. Harris had a minor conflict with our sales department's clients, and I'm handling it now!" Leonard said with a smile.
"A minor conflict?"
Mr. Morgan glanced at James and Craig and said disdainfully, "Just someone with a bit of money. Mr. Reed, you wouldn't want to offend the Morgan family over someone who bought your villa, would you?"
"Mr. Morgan..."
Leonard looked at the young man in front of him, looking troubled.
He hadn't expected Kimberly's boyfriend to be the famous young master of the Morgan family in Lumina City.
"Mr. Reed, you don't need to explain. If you have any issues, you can ask your company's chairman if he would let you fire Gerald Morgan's girlfriend!" the young man said domineeringly to Leonard.
Pamela, not wanting to miss the chance to get rid of Kimberly, quickly stepped forward and defended her boss, "Kimberly said that if Mr. Smith bought the villa, she would resign voluntarily. This has nothing to do with Mr. Reed!"
"Kimberly, did you say that?" Mr. Morgan asked Kimberly softly.
Kimberly was stunned for a moment, then quickly understood Mr. Morgan's meaning and shook her head, "Honey, I never said that..."
"She didn't say it, so how can you accuse her?" Mr. Morgan sneered.
Pamela was stunned by their blatant lies, her expression speechless. She hadn't expected these two to be so shameless!
"Alright, I don't have time to waste with you. Kimberly, Sarah, let's go! I'll explain to your chairman later. He's just a nouveau riche, nothing special."
Mr. Morgan, domineering as always, didn't bother asking for James and the others' opinions and was about to leave with Kimberly.
Leonard didn't dare to stop them. If he insisted on firing Kimberly now, it would mean going against Mr. Morgan.
"Honey, you're so cool!"
Kimberly's eyes sparkled at Gerald, thinking she would serve him well tonight.
But since it was still early, Kimberly just kissed Gerald on the cheek and took his arm, ready to leave.
Just as Kimberly turned to leave, James suddenly shouted, "If Kimberly doesn't resign today, no one is leaving!"
"Who are you? You have no say here," Gerald sneered upon hearing James.
Sarah glared at James with her big eyes and shouted, "James, are you tired of living? Do you know who my brother-in-law is? Do you know who you're talking to? Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you are rich!"
Kimberly, emboldened by Gerald's presence, continued to mock sharply, "Do you really think buying a villa means you can do anything? It's just a villa. My cousin sister was just joking with you. Did you really think she would resign because of you? "
In their eyes, James was just a nobody.
Despite James's wealth, he still could not compare to Gerald.
Gerald was the young master of the Morgan family, with impressive connections and background, far beyond what someone like James could compare to.
