Chapter 66: I Am Super Smith

Upon discovering that, besides Rex, Linda's room was now occupied by five burly men, James was completely stunned. Could it be that Rex intended to involve others in assaulting Linda?

"What do you want?" Linda exclaimed in fear, taking a few steps back and shouting at the muscular men.

"Are you Linda?" one of the men approached, eyeing Linda with a lecherous expression.

"Yes, I am Linda," she responded with a gentle nod.

"Perfect!" The man grinned lewdly and stepped towards Linda.

Instinctively, Linda took a couple of steps back and hid behind Rex. Now, even though Rex was alarmed by these men, he attempted to maintain a good impression in front of Linda, hoping to trick her into bed in the future.

Digging deep, Rex stood in front of Linda, facing the men, and challenged them. "Who are you? What are you up to? Trespassing like this is illegal, you know?"

"I'm here for Linda, none of your business. I suggest you stop meddling, behave yourself, or I'll break your legs," one of the men arrogantly threatened.

"Get out of here now, or I'll call the police!" Rex shouted in fear.

Upon hearing Rex's words, one of the men slapped him across the face and sneered. "How dare you threaten me?"

The force of the blow sent Rex crashing to the ground, blood trickling from his nose.

Meanwhile, standing in the doorway, James watched the scene unfold, feeling a sense of satisfaction rather than sympathy for Rex. Although these men were likely unsavory characters, in James' eyes, Rex was even worse.

"Linda, are you alright?" Linda rushed over excitedly when she saw Rex on the ground, her eyes filled up with tears.

Upon hearing Linda's concern, James finally learned the man's name, Rex.

"Linda, I'm fine," Rex murmured as he wiped the blood from his mouth and struggled to his feet, loudly cursing the men, "How dare you hit me! Do you know who I am? You'll regret this!"

"Who are you?" sneered one of the men with utter contempt.

"I am Super Smith! How dare you lay a finger on me? You won't get away with it today! None of you will!"

Rex yelled out.

Hearing this, the men paused for a moment before turning to their accomplices and inquiring, "Have you guys heard of Super Smith?"

"No!" came the unanimous reply.

Upon realizing that the men had no idea of Super Smith's identity, Rex was left speechless. He had merely been bluffing, incapable of calling for backup. After all, Rex was not the true Super Smith; he was just an ordinary young man.

"Mr. Weaver, it just dawned on me that there was a wealthy individual on the Stream Verse platform who often clashed with Mr. Martinez, and his name was Super Smith!"

At that moment, one of the men recalled the identity of Super Smith and hurried over to Alvin Weaver, whispering.

Alvin chuckled and then approached Rex and said quietly, "So, you're the Super Smith who had the run-in with Mr. Martinez, right?"

"Mr. Martinez?" Linda was suddenly taken aback by this revelation.

Only now did she realize that these people had been sent by Mr. Martinez of Lumina City.

"Yes, I am Super Smith. Now that you know, are you scared? I advise you to leave immediately!" Rex, still thinking that Mr. Weaver had recognized his identity, arrogantly demanded.

"What?" Mr. Weaver sneered before declaring, "A few days ago, Mr. Martinez had us investigate your identity to give you a good beating. Little did we expect you to walk right into our trap today? It's perfect-you're all getting what you deserve!"

Upon hearing Mr. Weaver's words, Rex was left dumbfounded.

He hadn't expected that after revealing his identity as Super Smith, these individuals wouldn't show any fear. In fact, they were more infuriated upon learning that he was Super Smith.

Regret flooded through Rex. If he had known that Super Smith was at odds with these people, he would never have admitted to being Super Smith himself!

Now that he was exposed, he not only failed to intimidate Mr. Weaver, but he also further enraged him.

Rex was deeply sorry for his actions!

Meanwhile, James stood by the sofa in the living room and watched Rex being assaulted without intervening, a faint smile playing on his lips, silently noting Rex's extreme foolishness. Revealing to Mr. Martinez's men that he was Super Smith? Wasn't that outright madness?

"Guys, get him!" Mr. Weaver shouted out loudly at that moment.

The four burly men encircled Rex and began kicking him in the head.

Although Linda instinctively tried to stop the men, she was powerless against their brute force and was pushed down to the ground.

The men continued relentlessly, kicking Rex in the face one after another.

In his confusion, Rex tried to explain to Mr. Weaver that he wasn't really Super Smith and that he had stolen the account. However, Mr. Weaver's men didn't give Rex a chance to speak, and they kicked him so hard that he couldn't even speak.

Finally, when Rex began coughing up blood, his face swollen and unable to utter a word, the assault came to a halt.

As James stood by in the living room and watched Rex being beaten without any intervention.
