Chapter 32 Dining in Your Room

A few minutes later, the bell rang, signaling the start of class.

The students returned to their seats and settled in.

The afternoon consisted of two finance classes, but James had little interest in the subject. He felt that knowing the balance in his bank account was enough to make further study unnecessary. Consequently, he reclined on his desk and dozed off, a sight that surprised Tyler and Paul.

In Tyler's and Paul's eyes, James had always been diligent in his studies, but now he was now caught napping during class, a behavior quite out of character for him.

His previous hard work had been driven solely by a desire to secure a scholarship, but the harsh reality was that such awards were predestined for well-connected students. No matter how hard James tried, he couldn't secure one.

Currently indifferent to the money, James saw no reason to diligently attend every class.

In the blink of an eye, the two sessions concluded.

The students left the classroom and prepared to dine at the school cafeteria.

"James, my dad just sent my allowance today. Would you like to join me for a meal?"
Paul, knowing that James had treated everyone to dinner yesterday, kindly extended an invitation.

"No, I'll cook for myself at home later!" James hesitated before politely declining.
"Aren't you joining us for dinner?" Paul looked puzzled when he heard James' answer.

Previously, James would have readily accepted such an invitation. However, his current refusal left Paul perplexed.

"I'm not very hungry right now," James explained.

Observing James' hesitation, Paul softly remarked, "Alright, we'll have another opportunity to eat together in the future."

"Sure." James patted Paul on the shoulder before turning and heading out of the classroom.

Paul and Tyler watched James leave, still puzzled.

"Tyler, have you noticed that James seems a bit different now compared to before?" Paul murmured softly.

"Indeed, there's something off." Tyler nodded gently.

"Apparently, he spent most of the prize money he won last time treating us to dinner." Paul furrowed his brow.

"Yeah, I can't quite grasp what's going on in James' mind!" Tyler expressed his bewilderment.

"Let's leave it at that. Perhaps Jennifer's actions have rattled him. Maybe things will get better soon. Let's get something to eat!" Paul suggested quietly before heading out of the classroom.

After leaving the school, James returned to his rented apartment.

He had a simple bowl of instant noodles and settled into bed to watch Linda's Live stream.

When the name "Super Smith" appeared in the stream, viewers erupted in excitement, sending greetings and messages to James.

Disregarding these interactions, James quietly watched Linda's performance.

Linda not only had stunning looks but also a melodious singing voice. On the phone screen, her luscious hair fell casually over her shoulders, accentuated by a black form-fitting T-shirt that showed off her full chest. Paired with a short skirt, her long legs were encased in black stockings, exuded sensuality.

Despite her charms on screen, James felt Linda was even more captivating in person.
"Damn! You better watch out! Don't let me find out where you live, or you'll regret it!" Lumina City Mr. Martinez's message floated through Linda's live stream.

Upon seeing Martinez's remark, Linda furrowed her brow and chose to continue with her singing rather than engage.

Fans in the chat came to her defense, criticizing Lumina City Mr. Martinez.

After posting the message, Martinez abruptly left the live stream.

James watched for a while, sent a few virtual gifts, then shut off his phone to get some rest.

"James, are you asleep?" Linda's voice suddenly sounded.

"No, what's wrong?"

James replied hastily, getting dressed and opening the door.

"Have you had dinner? I just ordered some barbecue, would you like to join me?" Linda inquired with a beaming smile.

At this moment, Linda had changed into a black lace nightgown that showed off her smooth thighs and radiated an extreme allure.

After a brief pause, James softly responded, "Alright, but my room is quite small; perhaps we should eat in yours."

Surveying James' room, Linda wrinkled her brow. "This is my first time in your room. It's so tiny!"

"Yeah, I'm not wealthy, so I settled for this cheap room," James awkwardly explained.

"Alright." Linda nodded gently, without further comment, then turned and walked to her room.

James followed Linda to her room, and the two of them sat down at the table, eating and chatting.

"Did you watch my live stream today?" Linda asked James quietly.

"I did." James nodded, pretending ignorance. "I saw that Lumina City Mr. Martinez guy in there, insulting you. Why is he doing that?"

Upon hearing James' words, Linda hesitated before pouting. "That guy is a jerk!"

"What happened?" James asked calmly.

"Yesterday, Mr. Martinez of Lumina City sent gifts during my live stream. Then, through the platform staff, he obtained my contact information and invited me to dinner and to join his live stream guild."

Treating James as a confidant, Linda shared without reservation.

"His live stream guild?" Caught off guard, James raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Yes, a live stream guild. Many female streamers on Stream Verse are part of his guild. He showers these female streamers with gifts and endorsements whenever he can!" Linda explained slowly.

"Isn't that a good thing?" James asked confused.

"Not at all." Linda scoffed, frowning. "It may seem good, but you don’t know our live streaming circle. If I join his guild, I'll have to split the tips I receive with him fifty-fifty, and I'll also have to..."

Pausing briefly, Linda's cheeks blushed.

"Do what?" James asked, taken aback.

"You know that!" Linda furrowed her brow, her tone tinged with helplessness.

"So, he gets half the money, and you have to sleep with him!" James realized.

"Exactly, so I turned him down. Now he's threatening to find out where I live," Linda explained slowly.
