Chapter 328 Laura Got Beaten Up
A moment later.
The beautiful woman sat in a Land Rover SUV, slowly disappearing from everyone's sight.
The middle-aged man who had previously tried to chat her up was lying on the ground, being punched and kicked by five burly men in black, occasionally letting out painful screams.
Countless travelers witnessed this scene, but no one dared to speak up because they all knew these men were Cameron's people!
In Lumina City, Terry was not to be messed with, and Cameron was even more dangerous.
Meanwhile, James was unaware that danger was gradually approaching him and was still wandering around the mall with the three girls.
After Conrad's birthday banquet, James and Laura stayed in Willowbrook for about a week.
Perhaps because of what happened on Conrad's birthday, everyone's attitude in The Hall Family towards James had undergone a dramatic change, and no one dared to mock or humiliate him anymore.
So during this week, James had a very comfortable time.
During the day, he would go shopping with Laura, Nancy, and Lily, or visit the attractions around Willowbrook.
At night, James would sleep in the same bed with Laura, but he never did anything to her.
He wanted to respect Laura's wishes; he had been waiting for her answer.
A week quickly passed, and James's vacation was coming to an end, and Laura and Joe were also planning to return to Lumina City.
Although many things happened in Willowbrook, James ultimately did not reveal his identity, and his relationship with Laura was gradually warming up, so he was quite satisfied with this trip to Willowbrook.
Moreover, Laura had promised James that whether she was willing to be his fiancée or not, she would give him an answer before leaving Willowbrook.
So James had been waiting for Laura's answer.
But an incident directly disrupted James's current plans.
On the eve of leaving Willowbrook, Laura, Nancy, and Lily went to attend their elementary school classmate's birthday party.
James didn't know that classmate, and since he was now somewhat of a celebrity in Willowbrook, various business owners would come to Willowbrook to get close to him every day.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, James did not go to the birthday party with Laura but stayed home alone watching TV.
But less than an hour after Laura and the others left, James's phone rang.
James glanced at his phone and saw that it was a call from Nancy, so he answered it and asked softly, "Nancy, what's up?"
Through this week's interaction, James's relationship with Nancy had greatly improved. Although Nancy still didn't acknowledge James as her brother-in-law, they got along fine.
"James, come quickly, Laura is being bullied!" Nancy shouted loudly.
"Laura is being bullied?" James frowned upon hearing this and asked anxiously, "Who is bullying her? Where are you now?"
"We're at The Golden Elm Bistro, come quickly, I can't talk now! Laura..." Nancy shouted and then suddenly hung up the phone.
"Nancy, Nancy!"
James heard Nancy's last shout of Laura and felt something was wrong, so he shouted twice, but Nancy had already hung up. James tried calling Nancy again, but no one answered after a long time.
"Laura must be in trouble!"
James took a deep breath, grabbed the car keys from the table, and ran out of the villa.
James knew that The Golden Elm Bistro was the restaurant where Leander had treated them before, not far from The Hall Family villa.
Twenty minutes later, James arrived at The Golden Elm Bistro.
After getting out of the car, James rushed into The Golden Elm Bistro without thinking and quickly found the private room where Laura and the others were after asking a waiter.
The girl celebrating her birthday today was named Audrey Carroll, an elementary school classmate of Laura and Lily.
The Carroll family had a similar status in Willowbrook to The Hall Family, both being second-tier families.
But even so, Audrey was well-liked, and since they were all elementary school classmates, most of Willowbrook's rich kids came to her birthday party.
The private room was full of young people. After a quick glance, James found Laura and the others.
James rushed to Laura and Nancy, calling out excitedly, "Laura, Nancy, are you okay?"
"James, why did you come so late? Laura was beaten, do you know that?" Nancy shouted with her big, watery eyes.
"Laura was beaten?" James couldn't help but look at Laura next to Nancy.
Laura was covering her pretty face with her hand, but James could still see the slap mark on her face, which was very glaring.
"James, why did you come?" Laura wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes and asked James with a puzzled expression.
"Laura, who hit you?" James asked coldly, gritting his teeth.
James could accept being insulted by others, even being verbally attacked, but he could never accept someone bullying his woman!
Laura was James's bottom line, and someone had crossed it.
"James, this has nothing to do with you, you should leave!"
Laura knew James was not a real rich kid, and his connections were only because of Charles, so she didn't want to see James make a big deal out of it, fearing it would affect him.
"Who hit you?" James repeated coldly.
Laura looked at James with her big, watery eyes, her expression very tense because she had never seen James so angry.
Even when Conrad kicked James out of the restaurant in front of so many people, James wasn't this angry!
