Chapter 412 Sharon Appears

James had just bolted out of the parking lot when he spotted a swarm of security guards pouring out of the Innovation Hub Tower, and his mood instantly soured.

"Seriously, don't these guys have anything better to do?"

James muttered under his breath, then took off running.

But there were just too many guards. In no time, they had him surrounded.

"Hey, kid! Did you just crash someone else's car? You need to come with us to the security office right now!" The head guard, eyes bulging and looking way too excited, barked at James.

James paused for a second, making sure Rosalind wasn't around, then asked the guard with a blank face, "Do you even know who I am?"

"I don't care who you are. I know you just crashed a car, so you're not going anywhere!" The guard shot back, dead serious.

"If you don't know who I am, let me clue you in. I'm the chairman of the Golden Peak Group. That Ferrari in the parking lot? It's mine. So, you better step aside, or I'll have you all fired by tomorrow. Got it?" James said, still expressionless.

The guard was stunned for a moment, then looked James up and down before bursting into laughter.

The other guards joined in, looking at James like he was a complete idiot.

"Kid, you think you're the chairman of Golden Peak Group?" the head guard asked, smirking.

James sighed, realizing these guys had no clue who he was, not knowing how to respond.

"You're not even good at lying. Everyone knows our chairman is Mr. Wilson. If you're the chairman, I'll write my name backward!" The guard yelled, then turned to his team. "Alright, enough with this kid. Take him away!"

James stood there, feeling utterly helpless. He thought to himself that maybe he had been too low-key if even his own security guards didn't recognize him.

"Guess I need to show my face at the office more often. This is just embarrassing." James muttered to himself, then pulled out his phone. "You don't recognize me, huh?"

"Yeah, who are you?" The head guard sneered.

"Doesn't matter if you don't know me. You know Charles, right? I'll call him right now. Just wait," James said, dialing Charles' number.

But just then, Rosalind came running out of the parking lot, shouting, "James didn't crash that car! He's just my college classmate. Let him go!"

James saw Rosalind running out of the parking lot and felt a bit stuck. He knew that if he called Charles now, Rosalind would definitely find out who he really was.

So, he hesitated for a moment and then put his phone away.

The security guard turned to Rosalind and said, "Doesn't matter who crashed the car. Both of you need to come with me to the security office and wait for the owner."

Rosalind looked at the guard, clearly frustrated. She hadn't expected James to get dragged into this mess.

"Hey, kid, weren't you gonna call Mr. Wilson? What happened? Don't know his number? I can give it to you if you need it!" The head guard taunted James, seeing he didn't make the call.

James squinted at the guard, feeling utterly helpless. He thought to himself that if he ever got the chance, he'd definitely fire this idiot. The guy was truly blind!

"Alright, if you're not calling, then both of you come with me to the security office!" The head guard waved his hand and strutted towards the Innovation Hub Tower.

James knew there was no escaping with so many guards around. And he couldn't call Charles now, so he had no choice but to follow the guard and look for a chance to contact Charles later.

"James, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean for you to get involved in this!" Rosalind walked up to James, looking genuinely apologetic.

James glanced at her and smiled, "Rosalind, don't worry. That Ferrari really belongs to my friend. He won't make things difficult for you because of me."

Rosalind looked at James but didn't say anything. She thought he was just bluffing. If that car really belonged to his friend, why did he run away?

But she didn't want to hurt his pride, so she kept quiet.

James and Rosalind followed the guard into the Innovation Hub Tower.

Just as they were about to enter, the sound of high heels clicking on the ground came from behind James.

The guard instinctively turned to look and saw the lobby manager, Sharon, walking over.

"Ms. Reed." The guard greeted her politely.

"Terrence, what's going on? Why all the commotion?" Sharon asked the guard, Terrence, softly.

"Ms. Reed, these two crashed a sports car in the parking lot. This kid tried to run, but I caught him!" Terrence replied quickly, glancing at James disdainfully.

"I see," Sharon replied, then instinctively followed Terrence's gaze.

But when she saw James, she was stunned, her expression completely shocked.
