Chapter 259 Fulfilling the Promise

Joe broke the vase, but Leander stepped up to handle the mess, which showed his responsibility.

James, on the other hand, was a total contrast to Leander.

From the moment it happened, James hadn't said a single word.

Seeing James's blank expression, Joe felt let down. His own son-in-law didn't say a thing when trouble hit, while Leander stepped up.

Joe thought, 'James, you might not have money, but no one asked you to pay for the vase. Why are you just standing there, saying nothing?'

Joe and Isolde both shot disappointed looks at James, silently regretting why they had picked him for Laura.

"Leander, this isn't your problem. I broke the vase. How can I let you handle this alone?" Joe said softly to Leander.

"It's fine. You've had a lot to drink today. You should go home and rest. I'll take care of it," Leander said firmly.

Thalassa hesitated for a moment. She thought Leander wanted to stay and talk to Atticus, so she quickly added, "Leander knows Mr. Hayes. It was just an accident, so it's better for him to stay. You should go home early."

"Yeah, Joe. No need to be so polite. Let's go," Thalia said, pulling Joe towards the exit.

Joe was pretty tired and had drunk a lot. Standing there was getting tough, and if he stayed longer, he might not hold up.

So after a moment of hesitation, he left with Thalia.

Seeing Joe and Thalia leave, James and Laura naturally followed the others out.

As Laura passed by Leander, she hesitated and said softly, "Leander, tell me how much the vase costs, and I'll pay you."

"Laura, no need. We're family," Leander said with a smile.

"Sorry, you're family with Thalassa, but not with me," Laura replied coldly, then pulled James towards the parking lot.

Leander's smile froze, and he felt super awkward.

"Honey, don't mind Laura. She's always been like this," Thalassa said, wrapping her arm around him.

"Okay," Leander replied.

"Alright, you're always easy-going and definitely won't stoop to her level," Thalassa said proudly, then added, "Honey, you were amazing today, even Atticus seemed afraid of you."

"I know," Leander said somewhat sheepishly, anxiously waiting for Atticus to show up.

Meanwhile, Laura and James got into the Mercedes.

Since James hadn't had a drop of alcohol, he naturally took the wheel.

Joe, Thalia, and Isolde were all crammed in the back seat.

"Thalassa really hit the jackpot with Leander," Isolde said to Thalia, a bit envious.

"Oh, it's nothing. Leander's just a bit more capable than most guys. He's pretty average otherwise," Thalia replied.

"Leander's so young and already knows someone like Atticus. That's more than just a bit impressive! I've been in Lumina City for years and never even spoken to Mr. Hayes," Joe said, squinting in admiration.

"Haha, it's Thalassa's luck to have met someone like Leander," Thalia said proudly, then turned to James and said softly, "James, I want to say something, but don't get upset."

James glanced at her and said indifferently, "If you know I won't like it, then don't say it."

"You..." Thalia said, momentarily speechless.

Meanwhile, outside the restaurant, Thalassa was holding onto Leander's arm, beaming. "Honey, you were amazing today! Look at how mad Laura and the others were. Just thinking about Laura's angry face makes me happy."

Leander glanced at Thalassa and asked with a smile, "Thalassa, do you remember what you promised me before we came to Willowbrook?"

"What?" Thalassa asked, looking puzzled.

"Didn't you say that if I did well today, you'd agree to one of my requests? Are you satisfied with my performance?" Leander asked with a grin.

"Yes, of course!" Thalassa quickly nodded.

"Then shouldn't you keep your promise?" Leander continued.

Thalassa blushed, lightly punched Leander, and said softly, "What are you thinking about? You lecher!"

"Come on, we've been together for almost six months. Don't you know how I feel about you?" Leander said, holding her hand tenderly.

"Well, since you did so well today, how about we get a room tonight after everyone leaves?" Thalassa said, blinking her eyes seductively.

"Really?" Leander asked excitedly.

"Of course," Thalassa nodded gently.

Leander was so excited he didn't know what to say. If he could really sleep with Thalassa, he felt all his efforts today would be worth it.

Having seen Leander's true capabilities, Thalassa's affection for him had grown immensely.

Faced with such an outstanding man, she naturally wouldn't let him go.

Initially, Thalassa hadn't slept with Leander because she doubted his abilities.

But now, she had no such worries. On the contrary, she felt Leander's abilities far exceeded her expectations, so she no longer needed to pretend to be an innocent girl.
