Chapter 242 Going Somewhere Private with You

When Marigold heard that, she couldn't help but shoot a glance at James.

She sneered, "Wow, you really have no shame. First, you spy on me changing, and now you're pretending to be Mr. Smith? You must have a death wish!"

"I'm not pretending. I am James," James said, staying cool.

"I'm not in the mood to argue. What are you all standing around for? Grab this guy!" Marigold yelled at the staff.

The staff rushed at James again.

"Mr. Hayes is here!" someone suddenly shouted.

Everyone turned to look at the entrance of Fairy Lake.

They saw Atticus, flanked by two bodyguards in black, storming towards James and the others.

"Mr. Hayes is here. This guy's done for!"

"Yeah, Mr. Hayes even brought his bodyguards. This guy's in for it today!"

The women around James started whispering.

"Mr. Hayes, thank goodness you're here!" Marigold's face lit up with a smug smile as she swayed her hips and ran towards Atticus, oozing charm.

"Marigold, who was the jerk that peeked at you changing? Is Mr. Smith alright?" Atticus asked, his face blank.

"Mr. Smith?" Marigold was taken aback and asked, "Mr. Hayes, has Mr. Smith already arrived?"

"Yes, haven't you seen him?" Atticus asked, puzzled.

"No, the perv who peeked at me changing said he was James, but..." Before Marigold could finish, Atticus pushed her aside and walked straight to James, saying excitedly, "Mr. Smith, are you alright?"

Everyone was stunned, their mouths hanging open in disbelief.

The women who had mocked James earlier were now shocked, their eyes wide as they stared at him.

Even though James had mentioned his identity earlier, everyone thought he was just bragging.

But now, Atticus's reaction confirmed that James was indeed the one they had been waiting for!

Marigold stood there, dumbfounded, looking at James in shock and stammering, "He really is Mr. Smith?"

Atticus, still confused, saw the staff surrounding James and shouted, "What are you all doing around Mr. Smith? Where's the perv who peeked at Marigold? Did you catch him?"

"Mr. Hayes," the lead waiter stammered.

"What is it?" Atticus asked, his face stern.

"The person who peeked at Marigold is him," the waiter pointed nervously at James.

Atticus was momentarily stunned. He looked at James, then turned to Marigold, asking, "Marigold, did you say the person who peeked at you is Mr. Smith?"

"Mr. Hayes, I didn't know he was Mr. Smith. I thought he was one of the staff!" Marigold trembled as she spoke.

"Are you out of your mind? This is Mr. Smith, the owner of Fairy Lake Resort. If Mr. Smith saw you changing, you should consider it an honor. And you mistook him for a pervert? Do you have a death wish?" Atticus snapped.

What should have been a simple situation had turned into a mess, thanks to Marigold and the others, and it made him furious.

Marigold was terrified by Atticus's outburst. Her face went pale, and her legs gave out, causing her to kneel on the ground. She stammered, "Mr. Smith, I'm so sorry. I mistook you for a pervert. Please forgive me!"

"Mr. Smith, I'm sorry!"

"Mr. Smith, I'm sorry!"

The women who had mocked James earlier also knelt down, begging for his forgiveness.

"Mr. Smith, please, forgive me this once!" Marigold clung to James's leg, pleading desperately.

She wasn't stupid. She knew very well who Atticus was—a big shot in Lumina City.

If Atticus was already so terrifying, what about his boss?

Marigold had come here intending to use her looks and sexy figure to catch James's eye and marry into a wealthy family.

But she never imagined that her first meeting with James would turn out to be so awkward.

James looked at Marigold indifferently and said, "I told you I was James, but you didn't believe me. I had no intention of spying on you while you changed; I even apologized, but you kept pushing."

Marigold's face turned to despair upon hearing James's words.

She deeply regretted her actions. If she had known that the man in front of her was James, she would never have done such a thing!

"Mr. Smith, how do you want to handle these people?" Atticus asked, still very angry. The gift he had meticulously planned for over half a month had been ruined by Marigold and the others.

"Mr. Smith, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me this once. It would be an honor for you to see my body. If you have time, I can go somewhere private with you right now and let you see as much as you want," Marigold pleaded, her face filled with panic.

"See as much as I want?" James couldn't help but smile.

"Atticus, expel these people immediately! Make them work as cleaners for a month, and then let them go!" James pointed to the women who had mocked him earlier.

He didn't intend to do anything serious to these women. They were just a bit materialistic, so he decided to make them work as janitors at Fairy Lake Resort for a month as a punishment.

The women present felt somewhat relieved upon hearing James's words. Compared to what Atticus might have done, James's punishment was nothing.

"I got it!" Atticus replied. He was momentarily stunned but quickly nodded.

He then looked at Marigold and asked James softly, "Mr. Smith, what is your plan for Marigold?"

"She's coming with me," James replied and then walked out of Fairy Lake.
