Chapter 170 Kneel Down and Kowtow to Michael
Uma watched James, Charles, and the others leave, looking annoyed. She pouted and yelled at Steven and Oscar, "You two must've scared James off with your creepy looks!"
"Why don't you say it was you who scared him off?" Steven snapped back.
"I'm too pretty to scare anyone. Didn't you see how he looked at me?" Uma shot back, her big eyes glaring.
"Any guy would look at you like that," Steven muttered, exasperated.
"You don't get it. I've decided I'm going to win James over and be his girl. You two will be my bodyguards, so start behaving," Uma said, shaking her hips and laughing.
Steven and Oscar just rolled their eyes and ignored her, going back to what they were doing.
Meanwhile, James had Charles drive him to Stellar Lounge. He had Charles stop a bit away from the entrance and walked to the bar alone.
By the time James got there, it was 9 PM, the bar's busiest time, and the staff were swamped.
"James, you're here?" Jessica, the front desk manager, called out when she saw him.
"Sorry I'm late, had some stuff to do," James said, feeling a bit guilty seeing everyone so busy.
"Ah, no worries—you're just in time. There wasn't much of a crowd earlier," Jessica said with a smile, handing James a few bottles of red wine and a tray of snacks. She added softly, "James, don't bother changing just yet. These are for the guests in Room 3. They've been asking for them, so could you take them over?"
"Got it," James nodded and headed to Room 3.
He knocked on the door.
"Come in!" a man's voice called out.
James walked in, and everyone inside froze. The guests were Michael, Jennifer, Ashley, and Sandra!
James hadn't expected to see them here.
"James?" Sandra exclaimed.
James looked at her but stayed silent.
"Who would've thought the rich kid from school is now a bar waiter? James, I thought you were something special, but you're just a loser," Jennifer sneered.
Jennifer had harbored a grudge against James for making Michael apologize and kneel, so naturally, she couldn't resist taking a jab at him when she saw him.
James placed the snacks and wine on the table, ignoring them, and turned to leave.
"Wait a minute!" A guy sitting among them suddenly shouted at James.
James paused and turned around. "What do you want?" he asked.
The guy squinted at James, then turned to Michael. "Is this the James you were talking about?"
"Yeah, Timothy, it's him," Michael replied through gritted teeth.
Michael was still fuming from the humiliation James had put him through at school. He believed James had bribed the principal, Arnold Sanders, to get away with it. So, Michael planned to use his connections to get back at James.
The guy who spoke was Timothy Reed, a thug Michael knew. Whenever Michael had a problem, he turned to Timothy for help, paying him for his services. Their relationship was pretty solid.
To get back at James, Michael borrowed 3000 dollars from a friend to have Timothy teach James a lesson. Timothy agreed without hesitation, especially since Michael had already prepared the money.
"Timothy, it was James who made Michael kneel. You have to get justice for him today!" Jennifer shouted excitedly.
"Don't worry, Jennifer. Michael is like a brother to me; I'll definitely help him!" Timothy replied. He walked up to James and asked, "You're the one who made Michael kneel at school, right?"
"What does that have to do with you?" James asked coldly.
Timothy sneered. "Do you have any idea who Michael is to me? Do you think you can just push him around and get away with it? You must be out of your mind."
James found Timothy's question ridiculous. "I don't care what your relationship with Michael is. Even if you're his dad, it has nothing to do with me!"
"Oh, so you've got some guts after all!" Timothy barked, his tone dripping with arrogance. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Timothy. I got him covered. Since you've made my brother kneel and apologize at school, don't you think you owe me an explanation?"
"What kind of explanation do you want?" James asked calmly.
"It's simple. You made Michael kneel and apologize. Now, you kneel and kowtow to him, and I'll let you go today," Timothy demanded, pointing at James.
"What if I don't kneel?" James asked disdainfully.
"Then you'd better get used to the idea of staying put!" Timothy roared, grabbing a bottle from the table and brandishing it at James. "Don't mess with me! If you don't apologize to Michael right now, don't even think about walking out of this room!"
