Chapter 415 Good Intentions Backfire
                    In the parking lot.
James had jumped through hoops to finally convince Terrence and the others that the car was his.
But what James didn't see coming was that Rosalind still didn't buy it. She even thought he had stolen the sports car.
What really ticked James off was that he had helped Rosalind out of the goodness of his heart, and now she was ready to call the cops on him!
James finally got what it meant to have good intentions backfire!
"Rosalind, what's your deal?" James frowned, clearly annoyed as he asked Rosalind.
He never thought Rosalind would pull something like this. Even if the car wasn't his, calling the cops was a bit much, right?
"James, is this sports car really yours?" Rosalind shouted at James, her big, bright eyes wide open.
"I've got the keys in my hand, and I'm sitting in the car. If it's not mine, whose is it?" James shot back, sounding a bit impatient.
"Do you even know how much this car is worth?" Rosalind still looked stunned as she yelled at James.
James just stared at her, not saying a word.
Rosalind continued, "This Ferrari is a limited edition, with less than twenty in the world, and this is the only one in Lumina City. Where did you get the money to buy such a car? You must have stolen it, right?"
After Rosalind had bumped into the sports car, she quickly looked up info about it on her phone. What she found out blew her mind!
Rosalind never imagined the sports car would be so pricey, which is why she was squatting on the ground crying. She knew that even though her family was well-off, they couldn't cover the repair costs for the car.
When James said the sports car was his, Rosalind was floored because she knew James's situation. He was a broke student who couldn't even pay his tuition fees, so how could he possibly afford such a luxury car? Rosalind wouldn't believe it even if her life depended on it!
"What on earth do you mean by this?" James asked Rosalind, sounding a bit helpless.
"James, if you stole this sports car, I suggest you return it to the owner ASAP. Maybe the owner will cut you some slack because you're young, but if you keep driving it around, you'll get busted by the cops sooner or later, and your life will be ruined. Got it?" Rosalind shouted at James.
James sat in the sports car, looking totally exasperated. The car was his; who was he supposed to return it to?
"Rosalind, this Ferrari really is mine." James said to Rosalind, sounding helpless.
"James, are you still lying to me? Do you think I won't call the cops right now?" Rosalind shouted at James, glaring at him.
"So you just don't believe I can afford this car?"
James had meant to help Rosalind out of kindness, but he didn't expect to be treated like this by her. He felt really unhappy, so his tone was a bit heated.
"James, if it were just a regular car, I might believe you. But this sports car is worth over ten million dollars. How do you expect me to believe you? Are you gonna tell me you bought it with your food delivery money?" Rosalind shouted at James, clutching her phone and looking super agitated.
James couldn't help but laugh when he heard Rosalind's words. He wasn't laughing at her, but at himself.
He laughed at himself for being so dumb today, helping Rosalind for no reason. If James had known it would turn out like this, he wouldn't have helped her at all.
"James, I suggest you return the car to the owner ASAP. I'll vouch for you, and I believe the owner will forgive you and let it slide!" Rosalind said to James, looking dead serious.
"This car is mine. Who do you want me to return it to?" James shouted at Rosalind, glaring at her.
"Why won't you come clean? I'm really calling the police!" Rosalind shouted, holding up her phone and looking super agitated.
"If you wanna call the cops, then go ahead. I don't wanna waste any more time here with you!" James replied impatiently, then started the car.
The sports car roared loudly and then sped off down the street.
Seeing James trying to drive away, Rosalind shouted, "James, don't be stubborn! Come back!"
James acted like he didn't hear her, stepped on the gas, and disappeared from her sight.
Rosalind stood there, watching James's disappearing figure with a complex expression.
"When did James become like this?" Rosalind couldn't help but mutter, then picked up her phone to call the cops.
She didn't want James to keep going down this wrong path.
But after dialing the number, Rosalind hesitated and then hung up.
"I can't call the cops now. If I do, James's life will be ruined. I have to persuade him to return the car ASAP," Rosalind muttered to herself, then got into her car and left the parking lot.
On the other side, James was driving his fiery red Ferrari down the street, instantly grabbing everyone's attention.
There was no way around it; James's sports car was too flashy. No matter where he drove, it would attract a lot of eyes.
But inside the car, James's expression was a bit grim. He wasn't worried about whether Rosalind would call the cops.
Even if she did, James had nothing to fear. After all, he had bought the car, and plenty of people at the dealership could vouch for him.
But James was in a bad mood because he had meant to help Rosalind out of kindness today, but she had turned on him. Being wronged like this felt really crappy.
A few minutes later, James arrived at the real estate office where Pamela worked.
After parking the car, James walked towards the office.
Before he could enter, he saw a middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses angrily scolding Pamela, his words extremely harsh.
Seeing this, James's face flashed with anger. He pushed open the office door and walked in.
