Chapter 389 The Tip of the Iceberg

Infinite Future Communications Inc was pretty much a household name in Serendara.

Anyone with internet access definitely knew about Infinite Future Communications Inc.

Their software was everywhere, woven into the daily lives of everyone. From social apps to games, a huge chunk of it belonged to Infinite Future Communications Inc, and their market value skyrocketed every year. Their annual net profit alone could support an entire city.

So, imagine owning 51% of Infinite Future Communications Inc's shares. How crazy would that be?

A lot of people thought Rodolfo was the biggest shareholder of Infinite Future Communications Inc, but James just learned from Charles that it was actually this Rockefeller he'd never heard of.

When James first heard the name Rockefeller, he thought it was just some regular overseas investment company. But after hearing Charles' example, he finally got what the Rockefeller Foundation was all about.

"I can't believe Rockefeller is so powerful, holding so many shares in a company like Infinite Future Communications Inc. It's mind-blowing!" James muttered in awe.

"Rockefeller not only has shares in Infinite Future Communications Inc, but they're also in other major companies. Those top companies around the world? Rockefeller's got significant shares in them too, at least 30%!"

To help James grasp Rockefeller's influence, Charles casually listed a few more big-name companies.

James was floored, staring at Charles in utter disbelief.

In James' mind, controlling so many shares of Infinite Future Communications Inc was already insane, but he didn't expect Rockefeller to have stakes in so many big companies. It was just beyond comprehension!

"This Rockefeller is incredible!" James muttered again.

"Mr. Smith, the companies I mentioned are just a tiny part of the Rockefeller investment empire. Rockefeller also controls the natural gas and communications sectors in several countries, which is where they make the most money. The examples I gave were just to give you a quick idea of what the Rockefeller Foundation does!"

Charles paused, then continued, "Basically, the Rockefeller Foundation doesn't run any projects themselves. They just invest and don't get involved in the company's operations. For instance, when Rodolfo started Infinite Future Communications Inc, Rockefeller's people approached him and invested in the company, buying shares. Then they let the CEO of Infinite Future Communications Inc run the show. If the company makes money, Rockefeller makes money. If it loses money, Rockefeller decides whether to keep investing or pull out."

"To invest in so many big-shot companies, this Rockefeller guy is really something else!" James looked at Charles and said in awe.

"I think Rockefeller's success boils down to two things. First, they've got the money, and second, their vision is probably the best in the world!" Charles explained.

James paused for a moment, then asked, "I get how powerful the Rockefeller is now, but what does this Rockefeller have to do with you helping me today?"

Charles gave James a once-over, then smiled and said, "Mr. Smith, do you know who started Rockefeller?"

"Was it Willard?" James was taken aback and frowned.

"You're right, Mr. Smith. The Rockefeller Foundation was indeed founded by Willard!" Charles nodded with a grin.

James's eyes lit up with surprise, and he asked excitedly, "So, if Willard started the Rockefeller Foundation, and I've inherited Willard's estate, does that mean Rockefeller is mine now?"

James wasn't too interested in Willard's other businesses since he wasn't much of a business guy himself. But the idea of owning this massive financial group, especially one that controls companies like Infinite Future Communications Inc, which he uses daily, was thrilling.

Just thinking about being a major shareholder of Infinite Future Communications Inc got James pumped!

"Rockefeller Foundation has nothing to do with you now!"

Charles's words crushed all of James's dreams.

"What? Didn't you just say Willard founded the Rockefeller Foundation? If he did, and I'm his heir, how could Rockefeller have nothing to do with me?" James asked, feeling utterly helpless.

"Rockefeller was indeed founded by Willard, but that was decades ago. Now, Rockefeller has no ties to our company!" Charles explained.

James felt completely deflated and frowned. "If Rockefeller has nothing to do with us, why did you tell me all this?"

"Mr. Smith, hold on, let me finish!" Charles replied calmly.

James looked at Charles, then sighed, "Alright, go ahead!"

"Mr. Smith, Willard did start Rockefeller and took it from a small, unknown investment company to one of the top investment firms in the world. A huge part of Rockefeller's success is thanks to Willard!"

"And then?" James prompted.

"But later, there were traitors within Rockefeller. They wanted to take Rockefeller from Willard, so they planted a timed bomb on Willard's private plane. Luckily, the bodyguards on the plane found it in time, and Willard survived!" Charles said slowly, looking at James.
