Chapter 187 Do You Dare to Bet

In the abandoned factory, Timothy pulled out his phone and called Yancy.

After two rings, Yancy answered, sounding annoyed, "Who’s calling me this late?"

Today's incident with James had really shaken Yancy, leaving him on edge.

Timothy knew why Yancy was upset, so he spoke gently, "Yancy, it's Timothy..."

"I know it's you. Just get to the point!" Yancy snapped.

"Yancy, I've got a surprise for you. Can you come to my factory?" Timothy dropped a teaser, not mentioning he had already kidnapped James and brought him there.

James watched Timothy with a stony expression, choosing not to speak.

Since Michael and Jennifer were being so persistent, James decided it was time to let them see just how wrong they were.

With Yancy on his way, even if Michael and Jennifer were as clueless as ever, they'd soon realize what was going on.

"A surprise? What kind of surprise?" Yancy asked, confused.

"Yancy, it's hard to explain over the phone. Just come over quickly!" Timothy said, his mind already picturing Yancy's reaction when he saw James. He even imagined Yancy might throw him a big party for it.

"What are you up to, making it so mysterious?" Yancy grew more suspicious.

"Yancy, you'll see when you get here. It's a big surprise, and you won't be disappointed!" Timothy said proudly.

"Are you sure you're not messing with me?" Yancy asked.

"Yancy, I wouldn't dare do that!" Timothy replied with a grin.

"Alright, I'm coming. Wait for me!" Yancy said and hung up.

Hearing the busy tone, Timothy turned to James with a smug look.

"James, Yancy is on his way. Let's see if you can still act tough. Didn't you say Yancy would kneel before you? I want to see that!" Michael taunted James.

"Then keep your eyes open and watch!" James replied with a playful smile.

Michael sneered disdainfully at James' words and replied flatly, "James, seriously? Even at a time like this, you're still trying to act tough? I've met a lot of people, but you're a special case. Staring death in the face, you're still so stubborn. You've got some nerve!"

"You think Yancy's gonna see you tied up here and not come crawling to me on his knees? You really believe that?" James raised an eyebrow, challenging Michael

Michael jabbed a finger at James, his face flushed with anger. "Are you out of your mind?" Michael shot back. "Stop trying to bluff me. You know exactly who you are, right? If it weren't for Janet, Yancy would have already broken both your legs. Do you really think you're special because you won the lottery? Let me tell you something: you're a loser, and nothing you do will ever change your pathetic fate. It's set in stone."

"How about we make a bet? If Yancy doesn't kneel before me, you win. If he does, I win. Deal?" James asked calmly.

"Sure, I'm game. What's the wager?" Michael agreed quickly.

"Let's bet on Jennifer," James said after a moment's thought.

"You want to bet on Jennifer?" Michael's expression turned amused, his eyes narrowing as he studied James. "James, Jennifer's already been through me. Betting on her is pointless. Even if you win, what's the point? Are you going to settle for a woman who's been with me?"

"That's my business. If you lose, you give Jennifer back to me. If I lose, I'll do whatever you want. Deal?" James raised an eyebrow.

"Deal. I'm not afraid of you," Michael said confidently.

"Michael!" Jennifer stepped forward, shocked that Michael agreed.

"Don't worry, babe. I won't lose!" Michael said casually, glancing at her.

To Michael, Jennifer was just a toy. He was confident he wouldn't lose, so he agreed to the bet without hesitation.

"James, you loser, I knew you wouldn't give up. How can you be so shameless? Even if Michael loses, I won't be with you. I will never be with a poor loser like you!" Jennifer shouted, her face full of anger.

"Michael, this bet seems a bit disobedient!" James ignored Jennifer and turned to Michael.

"Jennifer, what's wrong with you? Since James wants to play, let's play. If we lose, you get back with James. If we win, you can humiliate him however you want," Michael said with a smirk.

"But..." Jennifer started.

"No buts. Are you not listening to me now?" Michael snapped, glaring at her.

Seeing Michael angry, Jennifer pouted and said, "Fine. If Michael loses, I'll get back with James!"

James looked at Jennifer disdainfully and said softly, "Jennifer, there's something I've never understood. When we were together, I treated you well. Why did you always make things difficult for me? Even now that we're over, why do you still have it in for me?"

"What's it to you? I just don't like you. The fact that I, Jennifer, was ever with a loser like you embarrasses me, so I'm taking every chance I get to make your life miserable. Got a problem with that?" Jennifer replied coldly.

"If I told you I was actually rich, would you still break up with me?" James asked, squinting at her.

"You're rich? Haha!" Jennifer laughed, pointing at him. "James, are you dreaming? You're a delivery guy. Where would you get money?"

Seeing Jennifer's mocking expression, James couldn't help but smile bitterly.

At that moment, there was a sudden knock on the factory door.

"Yancy is finally here!" Timothy said; his face lit up with excitement as he ran to the door and opened it.

Yancy walked in with a cigarette in his mouth, asking impatiently, "Timothy, what do you want me here for in the middle of the night?"
