Chapter 286 The Opportunity to Become a Successful Person
"Miss Greer and Mr. Hays?" James looked confused when he heard Dorian mention them.
He wasn't from Willowbrook, so he didn't know much about Jessa and Irvin's background.
Everyone else in the room looked envious. It was clear that Jessa had taken an interest in James, even inviting him to the VIP room on the fourth floor.
Jessa was really into musical instruments and was pretty good at a lot of them. She often invited experts to teach her!
And she was super generous with these experts.
Anyone who got to go to the VIP room on the fourth floor to teach Jessa would leave with a nice reward.
Thalassa glared at James with intense jealousy.
She had thought that even though her boyfriend Leander was exposed, it wasn't too embarrassing, as there was still James, that pauper, for comparison!
But now, James had become distinguished because of his piano and violin skills, and he was even about to become a guest of Jessa.
Piano and violin were very classy arts!
Even an average pianist could make a ton of money in a year, let alone someone as talented as James.
'Laura's fiancé is so impressive, yet she made him pretend to be a poor loser. This is clearly to mock me!' Thalassa thought angrily.
At this point, she didn't want to compete with Laura anymore. Everyone had seen James's talent in piano and violin. Keeping mocking him would just embarrass herself.
James hesitated about going up. After all, he knew Jessa and wasn't particularly interested in her.
"James, the Greer family, and the Hays family are very influential in Willowbrook. If you can impress Miss Greer and Mr. Hays today, it will be good for both you and our Hall family!" Laura gently persuaded James.
She believed that James had great talent in piano and violin. If he could seize this opportunity and gain Jessa's favor, his future would be promising.
"Yeah, James, I heard that Miss Greer once offered five million dollars to hire someone to teach her musical instruments. That woman is loaded. You should go up quickly!" Nancy added.
"Alright, I'll go check it out!" James felt it would be rude to refuse, so he started walking towards the fourth floor.
Dorian, Laura, and Lily followed behind James.
Elowen and Thalassa hesitated for a moment but also followed to the fourth floor, curious about why Jessa had called James over.
Moments later, James and the others arrived at the VIP room on the fourth floor.
The VIP room was luxuriously decorated in a classical style, making it feel like stepping back in a bygone medieval era.
"Wow, this room is stunning!" Nancy exclaimed, her eyes wide as she took in the decor.
"Yeah, I've never seen a reception room this beautiful before!" Elowen said, pulling out her phone to snap some pictures.
"What are you doing here?" Nancy asked, knowing Elowen usually sided with Thalassa while she was on team Laura, so they didn't get along.
"Is there any problem? This isn't your place anyway." Elowen shot back, pouting.
"Miss Greer wants to see James, not you. Why are you tagging along?" Nancy said, stepping towards Elowen.
Lily stepped in, gently shaking her head at Nancy, signaling her to drop it.
Nancy glared at Elowen but kept quiet.
Just then, Jessa and Irvin walked out of the VIP room.
"Mr. Hays, Miss Greer, here he is!" Dorian greeted them with a smile.
"Good!" Irvin nodded slightly but didn't say more, heading to sit on the sofa.
Jessa, looking curious, walked up to James, sized him up, and asked softly, "What's your name?"
"Miss Greer, his name is James!" Dorian answered before James could speak.
"Did I ask you?" Jessa snapped at Dorian.
Dorian, looking scared, quickly said, "Miss Greer, I'm sorry."
Jessa, looking impatient, glanced at Dorian and then turned to James, saying, "James, right? I saw you playing the violin earlier, and I heard from Madeline that you also play the piano. Is that true?"
"I can play the piano, but I only know a few pieces on the violin," James replied calmly.
Jessa nodded and continued, "What do you do now?"
"I'm studying at the University of Lumina."
"You're still a student?" Jessa was surprised. "It's impressive that you've achieved so much in piano and violin at such a young age. I don't like to beat around the bush. My ArtScape Center is looking for a manager. Starting tomorrow, you can work here. I'll pay you five hundred thousand dollars a month. As for your school, you don't need to attend. I'll pull some strings to make sure you graduate smoothly."
Everyone was shocked by Jessa's offer.
No one had expected that Jessa had called James over to make him the manager of ArtScape Center!
ArtScape Center was famous throughout Riversong Province, and Jessa was offering James a salary of five hundred thousand dollars a month. Even Laura was surprised by such a job offer!
Thalassa was even more envious!
If James really became the manager of ArtScape Center, he would no longer be a poor delivery boy but would transform into a high-earning elite.
Most importantly, if James became the manager of ArtScape Center, he could expand his social circle.
In Laura's eyes, this was an opportunity for James to become a successful person!
