Elmer, upon hearing Willie's words, quickly asked in a low voice, "Mr. Reed, you're talking about Mr. James Smith, right?"

Willie, knowing Conrad's relationship with James, didn't dare to lose his temper and replied calmly, "Mr. Hall asked me to stand here!"
"Conrad asked you to stand here?" Elmer was taken aback by this and turned to Conrad, who was standing nearby.
Conrad was utterly shocked, standing there with a terrified expression.
He had never imagined that Willie could be real. He initially thought Willie and the others were actors hired by James, which was why he had them wait at the hall entrance!
But if they were actors, Elmer wouldn't know them, nor would he speak to them so respectfully!
Kirk and Floyd were equally astonished, standing beside Conrad in a daze, seemingly having guessed what was going on.
Joe, Zachariah, and Isolde stood there, utterly confused.

"Just tell me what's going on!" Elmer, too anxious to chat, replied urgently.
Conrad hesitated for a couple of seconds, then explained with trembling lips, "Elmer, here's the thing. My useless grandson-in-law hired an actor to pretend to be Lucian from Evergreen Investment Company, and I kicked him out. Then Mr. Reed and the others showed up. I thought they were also actors hired by my grandson-in-law, so I..."
"Useless grandson-in-law? Lucian?" Elmer's eyes flashed with realization upon hearing these words.
Elmer also worked under Charles, and Lucian had a superior-subordinate relationship with Charles. Given Conrad's mention of his useless grandson-in-law, Elmer quickly figured out what was going on!

"Because that person gave me a fake gift. I thought someone as important as Lucian wouldn't do that," Conrad replied quickly.
"Where is it? Let me see!" Elmer said hurriedly.
Conrad hesitated, then had someone pick up the American Ginseng he had thrown on the ground and respectfully handed it to Elmer.
When Elmer saw the American Ginseng, he was stunned, his face full of shock!
He hadn't expected Lucian to be so generous!
"Elmer, do you know what kind of American Ginseng this is?" Seeing Elmer's strange expression, Conrad asked softly.
"Conrad, Lucian gave you such a valuable gift, and you didn't even appreciate it? What more do you want?" Elmer couldn't help but sigh softly.
"Elmer, you must be joking. Isn't this just a piece of cultivated American Ginseng? How could it be a valuable gift?" Conrad wiped the sweat from his forehead and replied in a low voice.
