Chapter 226 The Hope of Rebirth

Seraphina was like, "Mr. Martinez, what are you even talking about?"

She was totally floored after seeing Kevin's comment.

They were just a thousand bucks away from winning, but Kevin had straight-up thrown in the towel.

"Mr. Martinez, quit messing around and send some gifts already!" Seraphina shouted, her big, watery eyes practically begging.

But Kevin didn't say a word and just bailed from the live room.

Right then, the PK interface started the final ten-second countdown.

"Guys, please, send me some more gifts! I'm just a thousand dollars away from winning. I'm begging you!" Seraphina pleaded, looking super desperate.

[Today, I want to see who has the guts!]

James's comment crushed all of Seraphina's hopes!

The whole live room went dead silent after that. All the rich viewers clammed up. No one wanted to mess with SuperSmith, not even Kevin. So, they all dipped out of the live room!

Only a few die-hard fans were still sending small gifts to Seraphina.

But these loyal fans were just regular folks. It was already a big deal for them to scrape together a couple hundred bucks. They'd already spent all their money, so coming up with a thousand dollars now was impossible.

If Seraphina had a bit more time, she could've definitely overtaken Sylvie, as they were less than a thousand dollars apart.

But the half-hour PK time was almost up.

Even if Seraphina recharged her own money to send gifts, it was too late.

The countdown hit zero.

Seraphina lost it, screamed like a maniac, and knocked her camera over.

Her live room went dark immediately, probably because she smashed her computer. Who wouldn't lose it in a situation like that?

Who would've thought that the once high-and-mighty Seraphina would lose to Sylvie by just a thousand bucks?

A thousand dollars was chump change for a streamer like Seraphina. She could easily make over ten grand a month just from tips.

If someone tipped her a thousand dollars, she might not even say thanks. But she never expected to lose by that thousand dollars in the end.

James had made sure Sylvie won by a thousand dollars on purpose.

He wanted to show everyone on the streaming platform that sometimes money couldn't fix everything.

Like today's match, could Seraphina's rich supporters really not come up with a thousand dollars?

Of course, they could!

But why didn't they? Because they knew SuperSmith was not someone to mess with!

Money could solve a lot of things, but sometimes, the status and influence were way more powerful.

This was a lesson James learned after inheriting a trillion-dollar fortune.

Sometimes, the power he held was more useful than money!

Sylvie stared at her computer screen, looking super excited.

She never imagined things would turn out just like James said, and she'd win in the end.

She was ready to throw in the towel, but SuperSmith's appearance gave her a new spark of hope.

Sylvie let out a big sigh of relief and ran towards her bathroom.

But as soon as she opened the door, there was James, standing outside, looking all sneaky.

But Sylvie didn't think much of it. She grabbed James's arm, all excited, and said, "James, guess what? I actually won the match just now, and it was SuperSmith who helped me win. It's unreal. I feel like I'm dreaming. I was about to give up."

Right then, all Sylvie wanted was to share her joy with James.

James looked at her with a blank face, then cracked a smile and said, "I told you, you'd win!"

Sylvie replied, "Yeah, you were spot on. I was totally losing hope, but then SuperSmith showed up in my live room."

She nodded excitedly at James and continued, "But today's event is really weird. I don't know SuperSmith at all, and he's never been to my live room. But he just swooped in and saved the day."

"Maybe he just stumbled upon your stream and thought you were cute, so he sent you some gifts!" James said with a grin.

"What do you mean by that? I've always been pretty, okay?" Sylvie said, her big, watery eyes showing a hint of annoyance.

James smiled helplessly, not sure how to respond.

Sylvie went on, "But I think you might be right. SuperSmith must've thought I was good-looking, so he sent me gifts. Even though he didn't send a ton, his last comment made all the rich folks in Seraphina's live room shut up. SuperSmith is so cool; I think I'm already in love with him."

Seeing that James didn't respond, Sylvie continued shyly, then gently pinched his arm and asked softly, "James, do you think SuperSmith sent me gifts because he wants to be my sugar daddy?"

"I don't think so," James said, shaking his head.

"No way. If he doesn't want to be my sugar daddy, why would he send me so many gifts?" Sylvie retorted, then looked at James and continued, "But don't worry. Even if SuperSmith wants to be my sugar daddy, I won't forget you. I'll support you too!"

"What nonsense are you talking about? When did I say I wanted you to support me?" James shot back.

After saying this, he turned and walked towards the guest room.

"James, what's with your attitude? I'm about to be supported by SuperSmith, and you won't even have a chance to curry favor with me!" Sylvie shouted, grabbing his arm as he tried to leave.

James couldn't help but turn to look at her.

He really wanted to tell Sylvie that the SuperSmith she was talking about was actually him.

But the whole Jennifer incident had taught James a big lesson, so he didn't dare to reveal his identity now.

"It's late. Get some rest," James said softly after a moment of hesitation.

"Alright, I am done messing with you! I really need to thank you for today. If it weren't for you convincing me to compete, I wouldn't have won in the end!" Sylvie said seriously.

James couldn't help but smile faintly, then turned and walked into his room.

After entering the room, James stretched out and lay down on the bed.

It had been a long day, and he was definitely feeling tired.

Just as he was about to drift off, his phone suddenly rang.

James was stunned for a moment, then picked up his phone to check.

When he saw the message, a strange expression crossed his face.

The message was from Sylvie, but it wasn't sent directly to him. It was a private message to SuperSmith on StreamVerse.
