Chapter 41 Being Kept by a Wealthy Woman

Upon hearing James' words, Laura couldn't help but pause. She never expected James to be so clever and quick to react.

"James, I know your situation. You must be in need of money right now. As long as you agree to these three conditions, I can give you a monthly allowance of ten thousand dollars as compensation for you!" Laura said softly to James.

"Are you planning to keep me?" James chuckled.

"Think whatever you want!" Laura replied disdainfully, then continued, "Considering your current financial situation, ten thousand dollars a month is a big amount for you. You can consider it carefully. As long as you agree to these three conditions, we can get married anytime!" Laura added.

Nancy, who was beside them, seemed to understand Laura's words. The three conditions Laura proposed just now were very unreasonable. Even if James agreed, marrying Laura would just be a fake show.

It was quite a struggle for James to marry a beauty like Laura but not have any say in matters, especially when Laura could date others without his interference.

This was humiliating for James, and any man hearing such conditions wouldn't agree to them.

Moreover, Laura had to give James a monthly allowance of ten thousand dollars, which was rather undignified for a man to receive money from a woman.

‘Laura must be doing this out of helplessness to meet this pauper. Now, she is intentionally humiliating James to make him withdraw. The three conditions Laura proposed earlier are outrageous. James won’t agree to them. Laura is incredibly clever!’ Nancy, standing on the side, couldn't help but praise Laura in her mind.

"I think a monthly allowance of ten thousand dollars is too little." Just then, James interrupted Nancy's thoughts.

‘This bastard even agreed. He has no shame! Apart from that, he even found ten thousand dollars a month insufficient. James is so cheeky!’ Nancy gazed at James in utter disbelief.

At this point, Nancy's disdain for James had escalated to the extreme. Initially, she thought James was a bit shameless, but now she found him utterly lacking in dignity.

"If you find a monthly allowance of ten thousand dollars insufficient, how about twenty thousand dollars a month?" Laura seemed surprised by his agreement to her unreasonable demands, hesitated for a moment, and asked softly.

"Alright, then twenty thousand dollars a month it is. I agree to your conditions!" James said calmly.

"Are you serious?" Laura looked incredulous at James' easy acceptance.

"Yes, twenty thousand dollars a month isn't a small amount. How many deliveries would I have to make to earn that much money!" James replied with a smile.

"If I sleep with other men, will you be okay with it?" Laura continued to question.

"I won't mind. As long as you keep me with twenty thousand dollars a month, you can do whatever you want," James added.

At the sight of James' insolent demeanor, Laura was speechless, thoroughly disappointed. She couldn't comprehend how a man could be so spineless.

At that moment, James' thoughts were straightforward. If Laura didn't like him, he saw no reason to coerce her into marriage. Despite Laura's stunning figure and beauty, forcibly marrying her held no significance.

James wanted to marry Laura solely to meet the terms of the will, while Laura's aim in marrying James was to rescue the Hall Family.

Both sides were using each other, crafting a false performance.

Earlier, James appeared money-grubbing to conceal his identity.

Laura and Nancy, upon seeing James agree to these three conditions, felt even more disdain towards him.

To them, James was an absolute wimp, as no man in his right mind would agree to such demands.

"Here's my business card with my contact information. Send me your bank account details. I'll transfer the money to you every month!" After hesitating for a moment, Laura took out her business card from her purse and handed it to James.

"Okay!" James took the card with a grin.

"How can you be so shameless? As a grown man, you dare take money from a woman." Nancy couldn't bear it any longer and spoke out against James.

"If I can be kept by Laura, that's my charm and ability. Even if you want to be supported, nobody is willing to support you." James turned to Nancy with a disdainful look and retorted.

"You're the most shameless man I've ever seen!" Upon hearing this, Nancy was flushed with anger.

"Alright, Nancy. Let's not make a scene!" Laura frowned, scolding Nancy. Then she turned to James and asked, "Do you have anything else to say?"

"Can I ask you a question?" James hesitated for a moment and asked calmly.

"What question?" Laura inquired.

"You don't want to marry me. Is it because I lack money or because you don't like me?" James softly questioned.

Hearing James' query, Laura looked puzzled and said softly, "Aren't they the same?"

"No." James shook his head gently.

"I don't like you!" Laura stated firmly, then stood up and said, "As for the wedding date, I will inform you later!"

"Alright!" James nodded in agreement.

Laura picked up her purse and walked towards the exit of the VIP room.

As for Nancy, she couldn't resist asking Laura with puzzlement, "Laura, do you really intend to marry such a poor man like James? If you marry him, you will ruin your life."

"Hall International Group is facing financial issues. I can only solve them by marrying James!" Laura replied faintly.

"But Laura, with your excellence, how could you marry such a loser?" Nancy exclaimed emotionally.

"As long as he agrees to my three conditions, I can marry him without hesitation."

"Indeed, James is utterly despicable. He readily agreed to such outrageous conditions. I've never seen such a shameless man in all my life!" Nancy scornfully remarked.

"Both of us are benefiting from this arrangement. Once Hall International Group's finances stabilize, I can divorce James. Since James hasn't touched me, I don't lose out!" Laura said in a low voice.

"Laura, you are ingenious. James is such a fool, agreeing to such conditions!" Nancy suddenly understood Laura's intentions and burst into laughter.
