Kevin was about to speak, but James interrupted him directly, saying, "Kevin listens to me because of what he just mentioned, Mr. Campbell!"
"Yes, it's because of Mr. Campbell!" Kevin felt James' statement was fine and nodded quickly.
After all, Kevin had shown such respect to James initially because of Terry.
"It's impossible; it's definitely not because of Mr. Campbell. "You saw Rex interacting with me earlier, and you told me he was a fake, you even claimed to be SuperSmith!" Linda exclaimed, her words filled with accusation."
Linda looked at James, shook her head, then shouted emotionally, "James, stop deceiving me. You are SuperSmith, aren't you? You were the one who sent me gifts during the livestream, right?"
"I'm really not SuperSmith. Where would I get the money to send you gifts?" James seemed somewhat helpless as Linda didn't believe him.
"How did you know Rex wasn't SuperSmith then? How do you explain that? Tell me!" Linda shouted with wide, watery eyes.
James hesitated for a moment upon hearing this, then quickly said, "Linda, there's something I've been keeping from you because it involves someone significant..."
"What is it?" Linda asked hurriedly.
"I actually know that SuperSmith is Mr. Campbell. That's why when Rex claimed to be SuperSmith, I could confirm he was an impostor!" James came up with a random excuse to placate Linda.
"That's impossible!" Linda stared at James with wide, watery eyes, her expression filled with disappointment.
She never expected James to claim that SuperSmith was Mr. Campbell.
"I'm telling the truth!" James looked at Linda seriously.
"I think James' explanation is quite credible!" Kevin nodded in agreement and added, "Otherwise, Mr. Campbell wouldn't have come to me out of the blue and asked me to apologize to you!"
After hesitating for a few seconds, Linda took a step forward, stared into James' eyes, and shouted, "If you knew SuperSmith's identity earlier, why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"Because Terry is a prominent figure in Lumina City. If it became known that he was watching livestreams and sending gifts to a female broadcaster, it would affect his reputation. That's why he deliberately concealed his identity!" James explained quickly. Linda looked at James, a hint of disappointment appearing on her face.
She had assumed that James or Rex were responsible for all these events, but she never fathomed that neither James nor Rex had any involvement. It was all orchestrated by someone entirely unknown to Linda.
"I've already explained what happened. Can I leave now?"
At that moment, Rex, lying on the ground with bruises, shouted at James and the others.James glanced at Rex and calmly said, "You probably won't be leaving today.""What do you mean?" Rex's eyes widened in fear as he looked at James. Ignoring Rex's question, James took out his phone, intending to call the police.Given Rex's actions today, it constituted attempted rape, and James couldn't simply let Rex go.
However, James found that his phone was dead, so he turned to Kevin and said, "Call the police station now and have them take this person away!"
"Okay!" Kevin nodded and dialed the police.
Ten minutes later, the police arrived at the hotel and took Rex away.
As Linda was the victim in this case, it was only natural for her to go to the police station and provide her statement
James, concerned that Linda might be frightened going to the police station alone, accompanied her there.
As for Kevin, Pamela, and the others, since they weren't very familiar with Linda, they didn't go to the police station. Instead, they went home.
At midnight, after James and Linda finished giving their statements at the police station, it was quite late. Considering the events of the day and the emotional toll on Linda, they decided not to go home but to stay at a nearby hotel for the night. After getting to their rooms, James went straight to his room to rest. But before James could lie down, he heard a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" James called out softly.
"James, can I come in?" Linda asked softly.
"Sure!" Upon hearing Linda's voice, James quickly agreed, then got up and opened the door.
Linda entered the room with James.
"James, I really appreciate what you did today. If you hadn't shown up in time, I might have been..." Linda sat beside James and whispered her thanks.
"No need to thank me. We're friends, and no one would stand by and watch something like that happen. You don't need to dwell on what happened today too much. After all, scum like Rex are very rare!" James replied with a smile.
"In that case, I also have to thank you..."
Before Linda could finish her sentence, a hint of curiosity flashed in her eyes, and her cheeks began to blush.
"What's wrong?" James noticed something was off with Linda and asked in confusion.
"James, I feel hot; I'm a bit uncomfortable..."
Saying this, Linda reached out to pull at her clothes.

Ignoring James, she hugged James' neck and then jumped into his arms.
She then straddled him, pulling at James' clothes in a wild manner.
Seeing Linda acting so wildly, James was dumbfounded because he had no idea what Linda was doing!
'Is Linda trying to offer herself to me? She just said she wanted to thank me, but she doesn't need to thank me like this.' James couldn't help but think to himself.
