Chapter 260 What the Hell Are You?

Seeing Thalassa agree to sleep with him, Leander was pumped.

But then, a white Porsche rolled up to the restaurant entrance.

When Leander and Thalassa saw Atticus step out of the car, Leander immediately made a beeline for him.

He approached Atticus with a big, eager grin, "Mr. Hayes."

Atticus shot Leander a frosty look, totally ignoring him like he was invisible, and walked straight into the restaurant.

Leander and Thalassa just stood there, totally baffled. They couldn't figure out what was up with Atticus. Earlier in the private room, he was all buddy-buddy with Leander, but now he was acting all distant.

Thalassa hesitated for a sec and then asked Leander, "Babe, what's up with Mr. Hayes?"

"I have no clue." Leander stared at Atticus's back, feeling a bad vibe creeping in.

Inside the restaurant, Atticus went straight to Herbert and demanded, "What's going on here? Who broke my vase?"

"Mr. Hayes, the person who broke your vase already left, but those two young folks outside know them. They said they'd take responsibility!" Herbert quickly explained.

Atticus glanced at Leander and Thalassa standing outside.

Leander walked up to Atticus, still smiling, "Mr. Hayes, it was a relative of mine who accidentally broke the vase. How much is it? I'll pay you back!"

He figured Atticus didn't recognize him because it was dark outside, so he made sure to get up close.

However, Atticus looked at Leander with disdain and said coldly, "Who are you? Can you even afford this vase?"

Leander was taken aback by Atticus's words.

"Mr. Hayes, don't you recognize me?" Leander asked, confused.

"Why should I? Who do you think you are?" Atticus snapped.

"Mr. Hayes, I'm Leander. Didn't you help us switch rooms earlier? And you even gave us a bottle of red wine. Remember?" Leander said, almost pleading.

Atticus paused, then took a closer look at Leander and suddenly remembered he was the guy dining with James earlier. But he knew Leander and James weren't exactly friends.

"Mr. Hayes, does that ring a bell?" Leander asked with a hopeful smile.

"Yeah," Atticus nodded slightly, then said coldly, "But switching rooms and giving you wine had nothing to do with you. We don't know each other, right?"

Thalassa and Leander were stunned, their faces full of confusion.

"Mr. Hayes, wasn't it... because of me that... you gave us the wine?" Leander stammered.

"Who do you think you are? Why would I give you wine? Are you nuts?" Atticus snapped, clearly pissed about the broken vase.

Thalassa's eyes went wide as she stared at Leander. She couldn't wrap her head around why Atticus was acting so weird.

Earlier, Atticus had been super respectful to Leander, but now it was like he was a whole different person.

And Atticus said the wine had nothing to do with Leander. So, who was it for?

There were only a few people in the private room at that time!

Thalassa knew Thalia, Elowen, and Dorian well enough to know they didn't know Atticus.

The chances of it being Joe or Isolde were also slim since Joe himself had said he didn't know Atticus.

So that left only Laura and James.

'Could it be that Atticus gave the wine because of James?' A wild thought suddenly hit Thalassa, and she quickly turned to Atticus and asked, "Mr. Hayes, if it wasn't because of Leander, then who?"

Atticus was caught off guard by the question. He knew he couldn't spill the beans about James, so he quickly coughed and said, "It's none of your business, but it definitely wasn't for this guy!"

Thalassa instinctively looked at Leander, then bit her lip and said, "Leander, how could you lie to me? Didn't you say you knew Mr. Hayes? Didn't you say he changed our room and gave us wine because of you? I can't believe you've been lying to me all along. You don't even know Mr. Hayes!"

"Thalassa, I..." Leander was just as shocked. He stayed behind mainly to ask Atticus why he was being so respectful towards him. But he never expected things to turn out like this.

The wine Atticus gave had nothing to do with him at all.

"Leander, you jerk! If you don't know Mr. Hayes, why did you pretend you did?" Thalassa shouted angrily at Leander.

"Thalassa, I didn't know Mr. Hayes giving the wine had nothing to do with me. I thought it was because of my boss!" Leander hurriedly explained.

"Who's your boss?" Atticus asked, surprised.

After all, he had been in Lumina City for many years and was sensitive to socializing.

He was worried that if Leander's boss had some clout, it wouldn't be smart to piss off Leander over this.

"It's Lucian!" Leander quickly replied.

"Oh, Lucian..." Atticus felt relieved hearing the name.

Lucian and Atticus were both under Charles, but Lucian's status was a notch below Atticus's.

"Mr. Hayes, do you know my boss?" Leander quickly asked.

"Lucian has to call me 'Mr. Hayes' when he sees me. Do you think it was because of him?" Atticus replied coldly.

Leander was completely floored by this.

He couldn't figure out who among them had enough pull to make Atticus personally deliver wine.

Feeling betrayed by Leander, Thalassa shouted and turned to leave, "Leander, I hate you! I never want to see you again!"

At that moment, Atticus suddenly shouted, "Miss, if you want to leave, that's fine, but please pay for the vase first!"
