Chapter 31 Women's Favor is a Bit Strong
Seeing James' head against her chest, the lady was momentarily stunned.
"You wretched scoundrel, get up right now!" The lady shouted at James, her expression a mixture of embarrassment and anger.
Upon hearing this, James hesitated for a moment before attempting to rise.
"Get away from me!" The lady, struggling to breath under James' weight, shouted at him with obvious passion.
Promptly standing up, James watched as the lady, now relieved of his presence, slowly rose and checked herself.
Glancing at the lady before him, James observed her tall, fair-skinned form, dressed in casual clothing with with long, shapely legs.
Despite the loose clothing, her well-proportioned figure remained evident, while her unadorned, oval face with smooth, delicate features resembled a ripe apple.
"I've been quite popular with the ladies lately!" James couldn't help but remark in silence.
At that moment, the lady also scrutinized James, her expression turning contemptuous when she saw his footwear.
"Didn't you have eyes just now? You loathsome scoundrel, I presume you wanted to exploit me by deliberately colliding with me." The lady shouted at James in a highly charged manner.
"What? Are you blind? You aggressively grabbed me, causing me to fall, and now you accuse me of taking advantage of you!" James, irritated by the lady's accusation, retorted.
"I think you're the one trying to take advantage of me. I have encountered plenty of losers like you who dare to exploit me without even considering their own appearance." The lady spat out in disgust.
Faced with this beautiful yet audacious lady, James was at a loss for words.
"Nancy, what just happened?" At that moment, several stylishly dressed youths walked over from a short distance, presenting a stark contrast to James.
Upon hearing this, the lady turned to give the newcomers a glance but remained silent.
After all, she had no intention of letting her friends know that James taking advantage of her earlier.
A curly-haired youth approached the lady, eyed James up and down, and said with a furrowed brow. "So it's you, the impoverished fellow."
James recognized the curly-haired youth as Wayne Perez, a third-year student at Lumina University with a decent background and a close associate of Michael's who often taunts James at his side at school.
"Nancy, how did that delivery guy treat you just now?" Wayne Perez shouted, pointing at James.
"A delivery guy?" Upon hearing the curly-haired youth's words, the lady hesitated for a moment, then furrowed her brow. "Do you know this person?"
"Of course, everyone at the Lumina University knows James; he's our school's most notorious penniless individual. Rumor has it that his girlfriend even dumped him a few days ago" Wayne sneered, ignoring James.
Upon hearing Wayne's remarks, the lady's disdain for James only deepened.
"Nancy, has he been bothering you? Tell me, and I'll make him kneel and apologize to you!" Wayne exclaimed loudly.
Upon hearing Wayne's assertion, James gave him a meaningful glance.
"Nancy, you have nothing to fear; I will protect you!" Wayne continued arrogantly towards the lady.
After a moment’s hesitation, the lady gently shook her head.
Having already felt embarrassed by James taking advantage of her earlier in the day, she found it prudent to keep quiet now, especially since she now knew that James was a delivery person.
"Did he really not harass you?" Wayne hesitated when he saw the lady shake her head, questioning in bewilderment.
"No, let's go!" The lady, looking at James with disgust, turned and walked off into the distance.
"Kid, I'll deal with you next time!" Wayne threw a harsh remark at James before leaving with the lady.
As James watched Wayne leave, he pulled out his cell phone and considered calling Terry to have him teach Wayne a lesson, but ultimately decided against it.
James felt there was no need to waste any more time dealing with someone like Wayne.
Five minutes later, James returned to the classroom during the break. His classmates were talking, but Michael and Jennifer were absent, their whereabouts unknown.
Ashley and Sandra sat at their desks, their gazes flashing with a peculiar expression when they saw James enter.
"Ashley, have you really slept with James?" Sandra hesitated for a moment before asking the question.
Upon hearing this, Ashley bit her lip, unsure how to explain the recent events to Sandra. Admitting that she had slept with James would surely invite ridicule. On the other hand, disclosing that James had taken her to a room, asked her to undress, and then abruptly left without any interaction would be even more humiliating.
"Why don't you focus on returning the $50,000 to me; other matters are none of your business!" Ashley diverted the conversation.
Perhaps because James had treated them to a meal, the classmates' attitudes toward him had slightly shifted, with some even greeting him willingly—a previously unheard of occurrence.
Apart from Paul, Tyler, and Donna, most of the classmates had previously shunned James, treating him like a beggar and feeling embarrassed even at the thought of talking to him.
As James settled back into his seat, he noticed that Paul, Tyler, and others were chatting with their classmates.
"Did you see yesterday? It seems the Stream Verse Live stream has a new wealthy patron." An excited, slightly chubby male student exclaimed.
"I was too busy playing yesterday to catch the stream, but I noticed the announcement today mentioning a patron named Super Smith who generously tipped over a million dollars on Stream Verse. Quite a big spender..." Tyler responded with a smile.
"I heard that Super Smith was in a competition with Mr. Martinez from Lumina City's, which led to the substantial tip on Stream Verse!" Paul shared in a hushed tone.
They continued to discuss the events, with James realizing that they were talking about his contributions to Linda's Live stream.
Little did they know that the affluent figure they worshiped was sitting among them.
