Chapter 133 I Can't Reveal My Identity
"Elbert, what exactly happened today? You must give me an explanation!" James squinted his eyes and softly said to Elbert.
"Today's incident..."
At this moment, Elbert was completely intimidated by James' identity. A flicker of fear crossed his eyes, leaving him momentarily unsure of how to react to James.
Originally, Elbert had intended to confess everything, but just as he was about to speak, a sudden realization hit him. If he admitted to framing James, the principal would undoubtedly consider him a thief, leading to his expulsion regardless.
In other words, whether Elbert spoke or not, he faced the risk of expulsion.
But if he didn't speak, there might still be a glimmer of hope.
So, after hesitating for a moment, Elbert shouted, "Today's incident has nothing to do with me. I didn't frame James!"
"At this point, you're still lying to us!" James said to Elbert with a blank expression.
"I'm not lying. This matter has nothing to do with me. I just happened to discover you stealing money. I don't know anything!" Elbert shouted firmly at James.
"Elbert, I was going to give you a chance to admit your mistake, but since you're so ungrateful, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
James said coldly, then turned to Louis and softly said, "Louis, if I remember correctly, our school has cameras installed in the classrooms."
Elbert heard this, then a trace of fear flashed in his eyes.
At that moment, he suddenly remembered that there were cameras in the school's classrooms.
"James, our school does have cameras in the classrooms, but they are all turned off..." Louis replied helplessly.
Hearing this, Elbert couldn't help but wear a smug smile. With the cameras turned off, James would be unable to unearth any evidence of Elbert framing him.
At that time, even if James was the chairman of the board, he couldn't do anything to him if he refused to admit it.
"No problem. Although the classroom cameras are off, the hallway cameras should be working. Get someone to pull up the hallway surveillance footage for me!"
Having studied at the University of Lumina for three years, James knew that the classroom cameras were just for show.
However, on his way to the principal's office, James noticed that the hallway cameras were on, and they could capture not only the hallway but also the classroom.
So, James had already figured out how to deal with Elbert and the others.
"Okay, James!" Louis quickly agreed.
Elbert, on the other hand, sat on the ground in despair, his expression extremely hopeless.
His emotions were like a roller coaster: sometimes excited, sometimes depressed. When he heard James' words, he was on the verge of collapse.
Elbert never expected that the hallway cameras could capture the classroom.
A few minutes later, Louis returned to the office with a hard drive and handed it directly to James, softly saying, "James, the footage you wanted is all in here!"
James took possession of the hard drive without any intention of opening it, fully aware of its contents.
"Elbert, at this point, are you still not planning to tell me the truth?" James asked softly, shaking the hard drive in his hand.
Elbert was wholly broken at this point. After hesitating for a moment, he shouted, "James, I know I was wrong. It was a moment of weakness. I beg you not to expel me. I really know I was wrong. I shouldn't have framed you. I'm a terrible person."
"Now you admit your mistake!"
James looked at Elbert and sneered, then said playfully, "I can let you stay at the University of Lumina, but you must agree to three conditions!"
"What conditions?" Elbert quickly asked.
"First, don't reveal my identity to anyone else!"
Elbert looked at James, stunned for a moment, then nodded and said, "Okay, I won't tell anyone!"
"Second, come back to the classroom with me, admit what you did, and reveal who was behind it!" James continued.
"I..."
A flicker of hesitation crossed Elbert's eyes.
"If you don't agree, you can leave now!" James said calmly.
"I agree!"
Although Elbert didn't want to betray Michael and Jennifer, he had no choice but to listen to James to protect himself.
At this moment, Elbert deeply regretted it. Unbeknownst to anyone, James had been concealing his true identity all along, leaving everyone astonished.
As a super-rich second generation, he usually dressed shabbily and even delivered food in his spare time. No one could see through his disguise.
"Alright, let's go!"
James took the hard drive and headed towards the classroom.
"James, what about the third condition?"
Elbert asked, looking at James.
"I'll tell you later!"
James replied calmly, then walked out of the office.
Louis, Arnold, and Elbert quickly followed James out, while Charles did not follow them back to the classroom.
Because if Charles appeared, James' identity would be exposed.
On the way back to the classroom, Louis, Arnold, and Elbert all looked at James with a sense of awe. They were filled with curiosity and confusion about James.
They couldn't understand why someone like James would pretend to be poor at school and specifically tell them not to reveal his identity.
What was James's point in doing this?
In fact, the reason was simple. If everyone knew he had inherited a trillion-dollar fortune, James would no longer be able to live a normal life, nor could he distinguish who genuinely cared for him and who was just after his money.
It was like someone who won a $5 million lottery wouldn't go around bragging about it.
Because once relatives and friends knew about it, it would bring a lot of trouble. James had the same thought.
