Chapter 426 Stay as a Security Guard

When Emilio saw James sign the contract, he couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.

He had started the company to make some serious cash, and now that he'd sold it, he was looking at an extra billion dollars in profit.

That kind of money meant he could live it up in style for the rest of his life, so of course he was thrilled.

James, on the other hand, kept his cool as he walked over to Cecil and Marc.

Cecil and Marc were totally stunned, standing there like deer in headlights, not even sure how to process what just happened.

They thought ticking off James was bad enough, but now they realized today's mess was way bigger than just that.

James was now the new chairman of Harmony Realty Group, and it was pretty clear his next move would be to kick them both out of the company.

Cecil was drowning in regret. If he'd known James had such serious clout, he wouldn't have messed with him even if he had a hundred times the guts.

If he hadn't poked the bear, none of this would be happening.

Just as Cecil was wallowing in regret, James walked right up to him.

"Mr. Smith, I know I messed up. I'll resign right now, I'll leave immediately!" Cecil hesitated for a second, then blurted out, practically begging James.

In his mind, getting out of there in one piece was already a lucky break. He didn't even dream of staying on as the vice president of Harmony Realty Group.

"Leave now?" James couldn't help but chuckle at Cecil's words, then said calmly, "Didn't you just say you were gonna break my legs?"

"Mr. Smith, I was totally out of line. I... I didn't mean to offend you. Please, give me a chance, let me go, I swear I won't mess with you again." Cecil was scared out of his mind, his face showing pure terror as he pleaded with James.

James couldn't help but smile at Cecil's fear, then said with a straight face. "You can't leave yet!"

"Mr. Smith, what do you want then?" Cecil stammered, desperate to know.

"You're the vice president of this company, right?" James asked calmly.

"Yes, I am the vice president of Harmony Realty Group. Mr. Smith, if you want to fire me, go ahead, I won't complain," Cecil said, almost excitedly.

"Fire you? Why would I do that? You're a real asset!" James looked at Cecil with a sly grin.

Cecil was completely baffled by James' words, his face showing total confusion.

"Now, I'm giving you two choices. The first is to break your own legs and crawl out of the sales office. From today on, you're done with this place!" James said softly to Cecil.

"The... the second choice? What's the second choice?" Cecil asked, not even thinking.

"The second choice is for you to stay in this company..." James said slowly.

Cecil was taken aback, a look of confusion crossing his face. Why would James want to keep him around?

"But don't get too excited. I'm not keeping you here as the vice president," James added softly.

"If not the vice president, then what?" Cecil asked, even more puzzled.

"A security guard," James replied with a grin.

"A security guard?" Cecil stared at James, completely stunned, his face full of disbelief.

"That's right, a security guard. It's pretty embarrassing for such a big sales office not to have decent security, so I've decided to hire a few more. I think your guys are up to the task. You all can stay and be security guards. As for the salary, I don't think you guys are hurting for money, so I won't be paying you. How does that sound?" James said with a sly smile.

Pamela, standing next to James, couldn't help but chuckle. She shot James a playful look, clearly amused by his plan to make Cecil's men work for free.

Cecil's face turned sour. He never imagined James would want him to be a security guard at the sales office. Having a gang leader and his crew work as security guards was a huge slap in the face.

Cecil's expression was awkward, and he didn't want to agree to James' humiliating offer.

"You've got two choices. One, Terry breaks your legs and throws you out. Two, you stay here and be a security guard. But remember, if anything goes wrong here, I'll come to you first. Think it over carefully," James said calmly.

Cecil was completely floored. He regretted coming here today. If he hadn't shown up, none of this would be happening.

He glanced at Terry standing next to James, then back at James. He knew James wasn't bluffing. If he didn't agree to be a security guard, James would definitely have Terry break his legs. Cecil knew Terry's reputation and didn't want to mess with him.

After a moment of hesitation, Cecil said softly, "Mr. Smith, I'll stay. I don't mind being a security guard."

"Are you sure? Remember, you won't get paid for this," James replied with a smile.

"It's fine," Cecil said through gritted teeth. He didn't care about the money now; just keeping his legs was good enough.
