Chapter 437 Let's Talk Inside the Bar
Thinking about that bright future, Sharon's face lit up with a sly grin.
"James, let's see how you slip away this time!" Sharon glanced at the pill in her hand and muttered to herself.
"Sharon, what are you up to? Are we leaving or not?"
Just then, Evelyn burst into Sharon's bedroom.
Sharon quickly hid the pill and turned to her, saying, "Yeah, let's go right now!"
Evelyn took one look at Sharon's outfit and was stunned, her face full of disbelief.
She frowned and asked, "Isn't it a casual meeting? Do you really need to dress up this much?"
"Of course I do! How else will James fall for it?" Sharon quickly explained.
Evelyn, still thinking Sharon was doing all this for her best friend, said excitedly, "Sharon, you're so good to Tina. If she knew how much you're sacrificing for her, she'd be in tears!"
"Tina's my best friend. I can't just watch her get ruined by James!" Sharon replied, a bit helpless.
"James is such a jerk. We have to teach him a lesson today!" Evelyn said, linking arms with Sharon and pulling her out of the room.
At 8:30 PM.
Sharon and Evelyn finally arrived at the Old Captain Bar in the new district of Lumina City.
As they got out of the car, Sharon saw James waiting anxiously at the bar entrance, and her expression tightened.
After all, James was her boss, and it wasn't cool to keep him waiting.
So Sharon quickly pulled Evelyn and ran towards James.
"Mr. Smith, I'm really sorry I'm late." Sharon said nervously to James.
"It's okay." James was taken aback when he saw Sharon, not understanding why she would show up.
"Sharon, why are you apologizing to someone like James? He doesn't have anything better to do. Waiting a few minutes won't kill him!" Evelyn pouted and shouted at Sharon, then looked James up and down with disdain and asked, "James, weren't you planning to buy all the houses in the sales office? Did you buy them?"
It was clear Evelyn was mocking James.
James, hearing Evelyn's words, gave her a cold look and then said softly, "Didn't you say you had something to discuss with me today? What is it?"
"What could I possibly have to discuss with you?" Evelyn replied disdainfully, then continued, "It's my cousin Sharon. She wants to talk to you."
James turned to Sharon, puzzled.
Sharon didn't want Evelyn to know James's identity yet, as she hadn't gotten him under control.
And if Evelyn found out she was using her, she'd definitely cause a scene.
Sharon winked at Evelyn and whispered, "Evelyn, didn't you say you were going to meet your friends? Why don't you go ahead?"
Evelyn got the hint and quickly smiled, "Alright, Sharon, I'll go for a walk. I've booked a private room for you two, feel free to use it!"
With that, Evelyn left happily, planning to come back later to see what would unfold.
James stood at the entrance of the Old Captain Bar, even more puzzled after seeing Evelyn leave. He hadn't interacted much with Sharon, except for that one time in the elevator when they had a brief physical encounter. He couldn't figure out why Sharon had called him out today.
'Could it be that this woman wants to blackmail me because of what happened last time?' James thought, eyeing Sharon's scantily clad figure. Her tight skirt and those beautiful legs wrapped in black stockings were almost too tempting.
"Mr. Smith, my cousin doesn't know your identity, so she might have been a bit rude. Please don't take it to heart, she's just a kid," Sharon said softly after a moment of hesitation.
"It's fine, I won't hold it against her. But why did you call me out today?" James asked, still confused.
Sharon didn't answer right away but smiled and said, "Let's head inside, Mr. Smith."
James glanced at the Old Captain Bar behind him. Since he was already there, he might as well go in and see what Sharon wanted. So he walked into the bar, and Sharon followed with a delighted expression.
The Old Captain Bar was a well-known spot in Lumina City, similar in size to Cynthia's bar, and very popular. Even though it wasn't even nine o'clock yet, the place was already packed.
After entering, James and Sharon didn't head to the private room immediately but found a random spot to sit.
James looked at Sharon and asked, "Now can you tell me why you called me out?"
"Mr. Smith, don't be in such a hurry," Sharon replied sweetly, then blinked her charming eyes and asked, "Mr. Smith, what would you like to drink?"
"Anything is fine," James replied indifferently, looking quite helpless. He had no idea what Sharon was up to.
Sharon smiled faintly and then walked to the bar. In fact, the waitstaff would bring the drinks, so there was no need to go to the bar to order. But Sharon went to the bar herself to make it easier to spike the drink.
James, of course, didn't think of this. After Sharon left, he watched the handsome men and beautiful women on the dance floor, wildly moving their bodies.
