Chapter 422 I'll Give You Ten Times the Price!
James slipped into the corner of the sales office to make a quick phone call, making sure no one could overhear him.
He wrapped up the call fast and came back to the security guards, saying firmly, "The money you wanted is on its way."
Pamela's eyes showed a flicker of despair when she heard James.
She had thought James was calling for backup to deal with Cecil. But to her surprise, he was arranging money for the security guards instead.
Pamela was also puzzled because she knew James was supposed to be broke. So, where did he get the cash for the guards?
Before she could ask, a dozen white vans screeched to a halt in front of the sales office. A bunch of thugs jumped out, charging straight towards the building.
These guys were armed with steel pipes and baseball bats, looking like they just stepped out of a muscle magazine, their bulging muscles straining against their clothes.
Pamela shivered at the sight, knowing these guys were probably here for James.
"James, what do we do? You need to run! They're probably here for you!" Pamela yelled.
"So what if they are?" James replied calmly.
"Can't you see they're armed? How can you fight them all alone? You need to get out of here, I can sneak you out the back!" Pamela shouted, her voice tinged with helplessness.
"So what if there are a lot of them? Even if Cecil brought a thousand guys, they wouldn't stand a chance against me!" James said, still calm.
Pamela was stunned, not understanding what James meant.
While they were talking, Cecil's thugs stormed into the sales office. The lead thug, Casey rushed to Cecil, helping him up and asking excitedly, "Mr. Murray, are you okay?"
"What do you think?" Cecil snapped, his face twisted with rage.
Feeling confident now that his backup had arrived, Casey barked, "Whoever hit Mr. Murray, step forward!"
The people in the sales office were scared stiff, staying silent and not wanting to get caught up in the mess.
James hesitated for a moment, about to step forward, but Pamela stopped him, standing in front of him and shouting, "I did it!"
Casey was momentarily stunned by Pamela's words, his eyes showing confusion. How could a pretty girl like Pamela have taken down Cecil?
"It wasn't her, it was the guy behind her!" Marc shouted eagerly, wanting to see James get what he deserved.
"Was it you who hit Mr. Murray?" Casey asked, squinting at James behind Pamela.
"Yeah, it was me," James replied calmly.
Casey didn't bother with James, knowing he was outnumbered and had no chance of escaping. He turned to Cecil and asked, "Mr. Murray, how do you want to handle this guy?"
Cecil looked James over and said coldly, "This guy kicked me earlier. Break his leg first!"
Everyone gasped, shocked by Cecil's ruthlessness.
Pamela looked at James in horror, unsure of what to do. But James stayed calm, pulling out his phone to check the time.
Casey, following Cecil's order, started walking towards James, with the rest of the thugs trailing behind, creating an intimidating scene.
An ordinary person would be terrified, but James stood there calmly, surprising Casey.
"Kid, you kicked Mr. Murray? You must have a death wish!" Casey sneered.
James glanced at Casey and asked calmly, "How much did he pay you to come here?"
Casey was taken aback and asked, "Why do you want to know?"
"I'll give you ten times the amount. Break his leg for me. What do you think?" James offered, intending to bribe the thugs just like he did with the security guards.
Cecil's eyes showed panic. If these thugs were also bribed by James, he would be in big trouble.
Casey laughed disdainfully, "Kid, are you joking?"
"I'm not joking. If you break Cecil's leg, I'll give you five million dollars right now," James replied calmly.
Casey hesitated, looking James up and down. "Can you really come up with five million?"
"Why don't you give it a try?" James replied indifferently.
"Casey, don't listen to him! He doesn't have that much money!" Marc shouted, worried that Casey and his men might be swayed by James.
"You dare mess with me?" Casey shouted angrily at Marc's words and ordered his men, "Guys, break this kid's leg!"
Just then, the door of the sales office was kicked open from the outside. A burly middle-aged man walked in arrogantly and shouted, "Anyone who dares to touch Mr. Smith today, I'll chop them up myself!"
