Chapter 44 The Customer is God

Upon gazing at the alluring beauty before him, James couldn't help but feel amused.

She probably had no idea that James' substantial wealth was standing in front of her.

Let alone a single villa, even purchasing all the houses in this entire area wouldn't be a challenge for James.

"Mr. Smith, I'm sorry. Shall we just leave?" Stephanie stood beside James, expressing sincere regret to him. At that moment, Stephanie also began to realize that the houses here were out of James' financial reach.

Deciding to leave, Stephanie didn’t want to witness James being humiliated by the manager. Thus, she wanted to take James away from there quickly.

Upon hearing these words from Stephanie, James turned to her and softly said, "Why? I happened to be considering buying a house. Why not take a look around here with you?"

"Stop bragging! You’re just a loser. Didn't you understand what Miss Gray said? The houses here are beyond the means of poor folks like you. Get out!" At this moment, one male staff shouted at James.

Stephanie showed helplessness. She couldn't understand why James, someone unable to afford the houses, would endure such humiliation.

Stephanie started to regret bringing James in at that moment.

"Are you the manager of this real estate office?" Giving no response to the male staff, James walked up to the alluring female manager and asked coldly.

"Yes, I am the manager of this real estate office!" The female manager raised her head proudly.

"Then, please introduce me to the houses here," James stated calmly.

The female manager felt perplexed about James' request.
Perhaps owing to her inherent attractiveness, even when she frowned, she remained alluringly captivating.

"Are you deaf? I already told you that the houses here are not something you can afford. You better leave on your own, or I'll have security escort you out!" the female manager pointed at the entrance of the real estate office, raising her voice.

"Mr. Smith, let's go." Stephanie couldn't help but reach out and tug at James.

James glanced at the female manager and shook his head helplessly. Inside, he was keen on buying a house. Given the circumstances, James decided to leave after the manager's disrespectful behavior.

"Miss Gray, what's going on here?" Just then, the voice of a middle-aged was heard inside the real estate office.

Upon hearing this voice, everyone turned to see a middle-aged man in a black suit emerging from the office.

"Mr. Reed, why have you come out?" At the sight of the middle-aged man, Miss Gray instantly changed her expression, beckoning with a flattering smile.

"Just now, I overheard shouting about kicking a customer out? What's going on?" the middle-aged man frowned inquiringly.

"Mr. Reed, this guy is causing trouble in our office, so I want security to remove him!" Miss Gray hurriedly explained.

"Causing trouble in our office?" Mr. Reed turned serious upon hearing this statement. He then walked up to James and asked, "Sir, what happened earlier?"

"I came here to look at houses, but your office manager didn't welcome me and wanted to kick me out," James replied nonchalantly.

Stephanie, upon hearing James' response, grew visibly tense. As she understood, the middle-aged man was Miss Gray's direct superior. James' words were undoubtedly tarnishing Miss Gray's reputation.

After that, Mr. Reed shot a disapproving glare at Miss Gray, then turned to James, smiling as he said, "Sir, I apologize for the negligence of our office staff. I am the head of this real estate office, Edward Reed. I will arrange for someone to assist you. Please wait for a moment."

Observing Mr. Reed’s amiable demeanor towards him, James decided to stay rather than leave. He replied, "Very well."

"Pamela, hurry and introduce this client to the new villas!" Mr. Reed instructed Miss Gray.

"Mr. Reed, do you think this guy looks like someone here to buy a house? Introducing him to the villas would just be a waste of time. He's here to cause trouble!" Pamela muttered unpleasantly.

"Pamela, I've told you countless times that the customer is God! Once they step into the office, they are our clients. Regardless of whether they can afford the house or not, you should treat them well. This is the most basic professional ethics for a salesperson. Don't you know that?" Edward sternly reprimanded.

From their interaction earlier, Edward also sensed that James couldn't afford their villas. Nevertheless, he believed that letting James leave abruptly would reflect poorly on the real estate office. Thus, he insisted that Pamela attend to James.

After a moment of hesitation, Pamela walked up to James with a tone of arrogance, saying, "Follow me, I'll show you around."
