Chapter 423 Terry Appears!
When the middle-aged guy spoke, everyone froze and turned to check out the entrance of the sales office.
"Finally, you're here!"
James breathed a sigh of relief when he spotted the middle-aged man.
Honestly, James was just stalling when he talked to Casey earlier.
If the guy James called didn't show up and Cecil's crew decided to jump him, even with the sales office security, James would be toast.
The folks in the sales office were scratching their heads when they saw the middle-aged man. They had no clue who he was or why his mere presence shut Casey and Cecil up.
Regular people might not know who James called, but Cecil and Casey, who were knee-deep in the underworld, knew exactly how scary the middle-aged man at the entrance was!
Cecil and Casey were totally floored, their faces showing pure disbelief.
They never imagined James could call in such a big shot!
The middle-aged man gave Cecil and Casey's crew a dark look, then walked straight to James, bowed respectfully, and said softly, "Mr. Smith, sorry I'm late!"
"No worries!" James replied coolly.
Cecil and Casey gasped when they heard the exchange between James and the middle-aged man, their faces showing sheer terror.
They could feel the deep respect in the middle-aged man's voice when he talked to James, meaning James and the middle-aged man were definitely more than just buddies!
Cecil realized he might've messed with the wrong guy today, and with a terrified look, he asked Marc, "Who... who the heck is this James? How does he know Terry?"
"Terry?"
The people in the sales office were stunned when they heard the name, their jaws dropping as they stared in disbelief.
They never thought James would call in a gangster boss like Terry, and judging by Terry's tone, he seemed to really respect James.
Almost everyone in Lumina City had heard of Terry and knew what he was about, but most had only heard of him and never actually seen him in flesh.
That's why most people were confused when Terry showed up at the sales office.
But Cecil, being a big shot in Lumina City's underworld, had definitely seen Terry before.
Terry's name was huge in Lumina City; he was a gangster boss, way out of Cecil's league.
If Cecil had known James was tight with Terry, he wouldn't have messed with James even if he had a hundred lives!
In Lumina City, messing with Terry was pretty much a death wish.
Cecil stared at James, his face full of despair, totally lost for words.
Casey, realizing who Terry was, froze in fear, not knowing what to do next.
"Should we go for it now?"
One of Casey's guys, who didn't recognize Terry, thought the middle-aged man was just some random dude and asked Casey with a sneer.
Casey was taken aback for a second, then slapped the guy hard across the face, yelling, "Are you nuts? Do you know who that is? That's Terry! Try messing with him and see what happens!"
The guy, holding his cheek, looked at Casey in confusion and stammered, "You gotta be kidding, right? This guy is Terry?"
At that moment, everyone finally got why James had only called one person, yet it was enough to freak out Cecil and his crew!
It was because that person was Terry!
Everyone's view of James shifted again. Someone who could get Terry to show up must have some serious clout!
Pamela finally understood why James had been so chill earlier, why he stayed so cool even with all of Casey's guys around!
She also got what James meant when he said, "Even if they bring ten thousand people, they can't go against me."
'How does James know Terry?' Pamela instinctively glanced at James, her eyes full of curiosity.
Pamela now felt she had a whole new understanding of James, realizing his background might be way more complex than she thought!
James stayed calm. He turned to Terry and asked softly, "Did you bring what I asked for?"
Terry nodded, then dragged two suitcases over to James.
"Open them!" James said quietly to Terry.
Without any fuss, Terry unlocked the suitcases.
When the suitcases popped open, everyone could see what was inside, and the folks in the sales office were totally floored.
Even Pamela, standing next to James, was stunned, her face showing pure shock.
Because the suitcases were packed with a huge pile of cash!
Everyone was speechless when they saw the money in the suitcases, their mouths hanging open, their faces blank.
"Mr. Smith, each suitcase has ten million dollars, making it twenty million in total!" Terry said softly to James.
"Great!" James nodded, then squinted at Casey.
Casey looked at James in terror, unable to keep his cool despite usually being composed.
