Chapter 161 Invest 100 Million
The shareholders in the conference room were floored when the man in the suit walked in.
They were shocked because they never thought James would find an investor.
Even Donovan, who had been sitting confidently, stood up, looking at James in disbelief.
"Laura, who is this guy?" Nancy asked, surprised when she saw Ian Phillips enter. She turned to Laura for answers.
"I have no idea," Laura replied, shaking her head.
Since Ian usually handled overseas business and wasn't well-known locally, it made sense they didn't recognize Ian.
"Is he really going to invest in your company, Laura? Did James actually find an investor?" Nancy asked, puzzled.
Laura took a deep breath and stayed silent. She didn't know why this man was here, and even if he could invest, it didn't mean he would. She was still anxious.
James walked over to Laura and said softly, "Don't worry, this is the investor I brought for your company!"
Laura was stunned and asked, "James, will he really invest in my company?"
"Of course!" James nodded confidently and sat down.
"James, who is this guy? Where did you find him?" Donovan asked, now anxious.
Laura was about to agree to be with him, but James had thrown a wrench in his plans. Donovan's biggest worry was that Ian really had the money to invest in Laura's company. If so, his plan would fail. Not only would he fail to win Laura's affection, but he'd also be left with his pride severely bruised by James.
"Ian, why don't you introduce yourself?" James said calmly.
"Okay, Mr. Smith," Ian replied, then addressed everyone. "I'm Ian Phillips, the general manager of Golden Peak Investment Company. I'm here to discuss investment opportunities with Miss Hall, the CEO of Felia Company. Our company is interested in the traditional cosmetics industry and wants to contribute to your production. Your company has been dedicated to this industry for the past two years, so..."
Ian explained his purpose. As Charles' trusted aide, he knew how to handle such situations.
Everyone was shocked. Laura felt it was unreal. James had actually managed to bring in an investor, and not just any investor—he had secured the General Manager of Golden Peak Investment Company!
Laura might not know Ian personally, but she was aware of Golden Peak Investment Company’s reputation. As one of the most prestigious investment firms in Riversong Province, their financial muscle was formidable.
Nancy stared wide-eyed at James, her mind racing. She couldn't help but marvel at how a guy like James, who seemed so ordinary, could have connections with such high-profile figures.
"Is this guy really the general manager of Golden Peak Investment Company?" Nancy asked, eyeing Ian with confusion.
Laura, unable to contain her excitement, asked Ian, "Mr. Phillips, you must be very familiar with Felia Company, right?"
"Of course!" Ian nodded, pulling out his notebook. "Your company has been running for nearly two years but has lost over thirty million dollars. Without financing, you might go bankrupt in two months."
Ian had already done his homework on Laura's company, so he knew its situation well.
Laura's excitement grew. Ian's familiarity with her company's situation meant he had investigated it, which was a sign of serious investment interest.
One of the shareholders spoke up, "If Felia Company has lost so much money, why invest? Does your company have money to burn?"
Ian couldn't help but chuckle internally, thinking to himself that James was indeed the type to spend millions on a company with uncertain prospects. It seemed only someone like James could pull off something like this.
Despite his inner thoughts, Ian kept a straight face and replied, "Yes, Felia Company is currently losing money, but we believe in its future. With Golden Peak Investment Company's support, we can turn it profitable within six months."
The middle-aged shareholder just smiled coldly and stayed silent.
"Mr. Phillips, are you saying you want to invest in our company?" Laura asked, excited.
"Absolutely, I'm here to invest in your company," Ian confirmed with a smile.
"How much are you planning to invest?" Laura asked quickly.
Ian had settled on this amount after discussions with James. So he answered, "Initially, one hundred million dollars, but I need to hold fifty-one percent of your company's shares. However, I won't interfere with your management, Miss Hall."
"One hundred million dollars?" Laura was stunned, her expression full of shock.
The other shareholders were equally shocked, their eyes wide with awe.
Donovan's eyes were wide open, too, no better than the others.
They already found it incredible that James had found an investor. In their eyes, James was just a poor delivery guy. How could he find a wealthy investor?
But now, not only had James brought an investor, but this investor was also willing to invest one hundred million dollars!
Even Donovan had only planned to invest thirty million in Laura's company.
