Chapter 101 He Cannot Reveal His Identity
"Miss Hall, are you still listening?" Leonard asked softly.
"Yes!" Laura, startled for a moment, quickly replied and then asked in a puzzled tone, "Are you really the general manager of Harmony Realty Group?"
"Miss Hall, if you still don't believe me, you can come directly to our sales office and take a look. We won't charge you a penny, and we can even reimburse your travel expenses!" Leonard said softly.
"Alright, I'll go to your sales office in a bit!" Laura replied softly, then hung up the phone, and turned to Nancy, saying, "Nancy, I have something to do and need to go out for a while."
"Laura, where are you going? Don't believe what that scammer said. No one would give you a villa for no reason," Nancy shouted in confusion.
"The person who called used the sales office's number, and he even invited me to the sales office. If he were a scammer, why would he let me go to the sales office?" Laura replied softly while packing her bag.
"That's impossible unless James bought that villa. But he's just a poor delivery guy who asks you for living expenses every month. How could he afford a $5 million villa? He probably couldn't even come up with $500,000!" Nancy said softly.
"Talking about it now is useless. I'll know once I go to the sales office!" Laura picked up her bag and walked out in her high heels.
"Laura, wait for me. I'll go with you!" Nancy put down her iPad and ran out with Laura. Half an hour later, Laura drove to the Harmony Realty Group sales office.
"Laura, I think we should stay in the car. What if the scammer is someone from the sales office, and they kidnap us once we go in?" Nancy said fearfully to Laura after getting out of the car.
"It's fine, Nancy. Harmony Realty Group is one of the top real estate developers in the country, with a high reputation. They focus on high-end villa projects, so a big company like this wouldn't have scammers." Laura wasn't worried about this; she was more concerned about whether someone really bought the villa for her.
"Are you sure there's no problem?" Nancy blinked her pretty eyes.
"Don't worry!" Laura replied casually, then flipped her hair and gracefully walked into the sales office.
Nancy hesitated for a moment, then followed Laura inside.
At this time, Leonard, who was anxiously waiting inside the sales office, quickly walked up to Laura with a smile and said, "Miss Hall, you finally came. If you hadn't come, we would have been off work!"
Laura briefly scanned the sales office and found everything normal, with no unusual signs. She even saw a few sales ladies she had met in the afternoon.
"Are you the general manager of the sales office?" Laura asked with a frown.
"Yes, Miss Hall, here's my business card!" Leonard respectfully handed a business card to Laura and continued, "Miss Hall, now that you're here at our sales office, you shouldn't worry about being scammed, right?"
Laura took Leonard's business card, glanced at it, and then said softly, "Mr. Reed, you said on the phone that someone bought a villa to give to me. Is this true? Is it not some promotional activity by your sales office?"
"Yeah, are you guys playing a trick on us?" Nancy shouted at Leonard, feeling braver after confirming there was no problem inside the sales office.
"Miss Hall, rest assured, we are a legitimate business and would never deceive you. I have already prepared the purchase contract. You just need to sign your name, and the villa will be yours. The whole process won't cost you a penny, and you can move in right away!" Leonard said with a smile.
"There is no such thing as a free lunch, right? Are you sure what you're saying is true?" Laura still couldn't believe Leonard's words.
"I can vouch for it with our company's reputation. Everything I said is true!" Leonard nodded sincerely at Laura and continued, "Miss Hall, you can come and take a look at the contract!"
She hesitated for a moment, then followed Leonard to the meeting room.
Leonard handed Laura the prepared contract. She read it carefully and found no issues. It was a standard purchase contract, and the villa mentioned was indeed the one she had her eye on.
"Mr. Reed, what's going on here?" Laura asked Leonard with a complex expression after putting down the contract.
"Miss Hall, I explained this on the phone. Someone bought this villa and told us to give it to you, so I called you to come over!" He said slowly.
"Who is giving me this villa?" Laura asked quickly.
"Miss Hall, the buyer specifically instructed us not to reveal their identity, so I can't tell you who it is!" Leonard said calmly.
She looked at Leonard with a puzzled expression.
"Laura, could it really be James who gave it to you?" Nancy couldn't help but whisper toher after hearing Leonard's words.
"That's impossible. James couldn't afford to buy this villa," Laura replied softly.
"Then who could it be?" Laura was also very puzzled at this point.
"Miss Hall, if you're sure there's no problem, you can sign the contract now!" Leonard said to Laura.
"Tell me, who is giving me this villa?" Laura asked Leonard seriously.
"Miss Hall, I'm sorry, but I can't tell you that!" He shook his head gently.
"If you don't tell me who is giving me this villa, I won't sign the contract or accept the villa!" After saying this, Laura handed the contract back to Leonard and walked out of the meeting room.
