Chapter 100 Who let you come here to drink?

Sebastian paused his steps, "Where is she?"

"Madam... just left," the reply came.

Sebastian's sharp gaze swept directly towards Kaine.

"Just left, really just left. When you came out, Madam had just entered the elevator," Kaine said. "If you go after her now... I estimate Madam has just reached the lobby."

Sebastian remained silent for a few seconds before saying two words, "Forget it."

"Mr. Lawrence," Kaine kindly suggested, "How about I call Madam and ask her to come back..."

“There’s no need," Sebastian walked back into the office, appearing normal with no fluctuations in his emotions.

But—
The sound of the door closing "bang" made the whole floor seem to shake.

Clearly, he was angry. Clearly, he wanted Madam to come back. Why didn't he say it out loud...
What's the point of Mr. Lawrence acting petulant? At the end of the day, after considering everything that transpired, he's the one getting angry.

It's not worth it at all.

Isabella walked out of the Lawrence Group building and looked at the bustling traffic and people outside, feeling somewhat lost.

How was she going to get back? Take a taxi? The subway?

She never considered how to get home without Sebastian since they used to commute together.

She also didn't know if there would be any more synchronized commutes between him and her in the future.

Isabella hailed a taxi and gave the address of Willowbrook Estate.

During the journey, she received a call from Brittany.

"Where are you?" Brittany asked. "I have already reserved the bar for us..."

Only then did Isabella remember that Brittany had mentioned going out for drinks together.

She completely forgot about it!

Isabella's mind was currently in a daze, and she couldn't quite remember what she had agreed to.

"I'm sorry, Brittany. I'm on my way back to Willowbrook Estate... I... I forgot..."

"Forgot?"

"Yes, I..."

Brittany sighed, "What do you plan on doing after you get back there? Facing an empty room all alone, keeping everything to yourself? Isabella, you'll drive yourself crazy doing that."

"What else can I do besides that? Go out for drinks, get drunk, indulge myself, but ultimately, I'm still alone when I come back," Isabella replied. "Even if I get through tonight like this, what about tomorrow night? The night after that?"

She always had to face this loneliness, endure these heart-wrenching moments alone.

"I know, but if you can get through just one day, then you'll be a little less sad," Brittany said from experience.

Isabella held onto her phone, looking at the night scenery outside, "...let's do it another day, I'm really sorry. I'm not in a good state today. Maybe tomorrow will be better."

Brittany didn't say anything else and responded, "Alright. If there's anything, remember to call me anytime."

"Okay, thank you."

"We're friends, there is no need for thanks," Brittany said.

After hanging up, Brittany put her mobile away and looked at the singer on the stage.

This was a famous lounge in New York, with a good atmosphere. No dazzling colorful lights, no deafening DJ music, just softly sung songs.

Drinks could be consumed one after another.

Songs could be listened to one after another.

And, if you leave a tip, you can even request a song.

Brittany swirled her glass and her gaze became somewhat distant.

Was she really just wanting to have a drink herself, or was she using the excuse of comforting Isabella to get drunk?

Work pressure, loneliness in life, and the wounds in her heart... all these were reasons that made Brittany almost unable to hold on.

She just didn't expect that she would be the only one coming here for a drink in the end.

Brittany muttered to herself, "Well, it's fine... Isabella, actually, you shouldn't get drunk because it can become addictive..."

"The feeling of being drunk is so wonderful. Forget about everything, no worries at all, just a good sleep."

"I'm persuading you not to love Sebastian, but in fact, I still love Joshua myself. What right do I have... to advise you? I can't even do it myself..."

"I shouldn't use my coping mechanism on you. Perhaps you're stronger than me, or maybe you have other ways to relieve your distress."

Brittany appeared both crying and laughing, like a lunatic.

However, there were still many men who approached her to strike up a conversation.

For such a beautiful, elegant, and seemingly wealthy woman, which man wouldn't want to make a move?

Brittany accepted every man who offered her a drink.

She raised her glass when a man clinked it against hers.

She leaned in when a man spoke to her.

She engaged in conversation when a man talked to her.

With her glass in hand, she smiled provocatively...

When Joshua arrived, this was the scene he saw.

Brittany was sitting at the bar, wearing a black low-cut off-the-shoulder dress, with delicate makeup, especially her eyes, heavier than usual with a hint of a smoky look, making her look more charming and feminine.

Several men surrounded her, and she conversed with each of them while smiling.

Even when someone's hand rested on her shoulder, she didn't mind.

Joshua had never seen this side of Brittany. He wanted to chop off the hand that was on her shoulder!

Filled with anger, Joshua walked over and forcefully pushed away the men surrounding her.

"Hey, who are you?"

"Why did you push me? Are you looking for a problem? "

Joshua completely ignored them, his eyes fixed only on Brittany. "What are you doing here?"

"What else can I do here? Drink," Brittany responded.

"Funny to see you here, Joshua. Are you here to have a drink too? In that case, the two of us can have a toast," she said, raising her glass.

Joshua snatched the glass away and slammed it heavily on the table. "Don't drink!"

Brittany said, "I ordered the drink, and I'll drink it if I want to. What right do you have to stop me?"

The man next to her chimed in, "That's right, who are you to stop her? Who do you think you are?"

"I..." Joshua started to say, but he realized he couldn't come up with an answer. Yeah, who was he to her? Filled with anger, Joshua glanced at the man and said, "Get lost!"

"Hey, why so rude..." Joshua didn't bother with idle talk and quickly took action. In an instant, he skillfully caught the man's hand and locked it behind his back. "Leave, don't make me say it a third time."

Seeing that Joshua was not someone to be messed with, the man unwillingly cursed a few times and walked away.

Brittany sat in her seat from beginning to end, watching Joshua get angry, watching him drive the man beside her away, but she didn't say a word to stop or help anyone. It was as if she was watching a farce unrelated to herself.

Joshua's face darkened even more at the sight of her watching the spectacle. "Brittany, who allowed you to come here and drink alone?"

“It’s my freedom,” Brittany stubbornly replied.

Joshua gritted his teeth. "I'll take you home!"
