Chapter 49 The person he truly likes...
“I will never joke about matters relating to work.”
Isabella nodded, "Okay, I promise you."
With her affirmative response, Sebastian started the car and drove towards Lawrence Group.
Isabella couldn't understand what he was thinking. Why did he suddenly talk about teaching her how to manage the company, out of the blue?
After considering her future situation, it seemed like a good choice to divorce Sebastian and give up custody of their child, and subsequently become a career women by taking over the Wallace family company.
Sebastian is really going all out to compensate her. It's not easy to find such a good marriage deal anywhere else.
Isabella stood by Sebastian's side as they walked together.
They encountered no obstacles along the way, but attracted numerous surprised looks from people.
"Is this Mrs. Lawrence? Yesterday Mr. Sinclair leaked the news of Mr. Lawrence's marriage, and today Mrs. Lawrence, the main character, appears?"
"Maybe Mr. Sinclair intentionally made a slip of the tongue."
"I wonder if the Turner family's daughter is furious... It seems that Mrs. Lawrence is not particularly beautiful, either."
"Her temperament is decent, and her features are quite well-arranged. She must definitely possess exceptional qualities to be qualified to married into the Lawrence’s family."
"I heard she was an heiress who had gone bankrupt... She's really lucky, being accompanied by great wealth and prosperity."
As they were about to head towards the elevator, passing by the front desk, Isabella heard a familiar and sweet voice calling out, "Isabella!"
Anthony, wearing sunglasses and donning vibrant lipstick, approached her with the discreet charm of a female star. She walked briskly towards them.
A few of her staff members stood not far behind her.
Before Isabella could respond, Sebastian's displeased voice sounded first, "What are you doing at the company?"
"I'm here for work."
"Work?"
"Yes," Anthony nodded, "to discuss endorsements."
Sebastian furrowed his brow, "Endorsements?"
"Oh, well, I'm not here to disturb you and Isabella," Anthony winked, "Besides, I'm not looking for you. I only came here because I wanted to see Isabella."
As she said so, Isabella suddenly remembered the awkward incident of her and Sebastian kissing at the Lawrence family, which was witnessed by Anthony.
Anthony hooked her arm and took out two chocolates from her bag, looking heartbroken, "I can't eat them because I'm on a diet. Isabella, here, they're really delicious."
Then, she rummaged through her bag and pulled out a bunch of snacks.
Oat bars, milk slices, fruit gum... She handed them all to Isabella.
Sebastian, feeling sidelined, coolly remarked, "If you get any thinner, you'll be just skin and bones."
"What do you know," Anthony retorted, "Being on camera makes you look fatter."
Isabella accepted everything with pleasure, saying, "I'll eat them for you, don't worry."
"Isabella is still the best..."
Watching the two girls being affectionate, Sebastian felt annoyed and pulled Isabella closer to him, saying, "Go busy yourself with your work."
"I'm not a man, why would I be jealous for no reason?" Anthony pouted, "I'm your sister, your blood sister."
The elevator doors opened, and Joshua walked out.
Seeing three people standing here, he raised an eyebrow and said, "Everyone's here."
“Hey,” Anthony waved at him, “We were waiting for you. If I hang around here any longer, my brother’s daggers will stab me to death.”
Isabella's face slightly reddened, "That's not true, don't talk nonsense..."
