Chapter 149 I Want to Reconcile with You

Joshua clicked his tongue twice.

"I suddenly feel like your decisions and judgments have been almost perfect, with no mistakes. But there are two people you might have misunderstood."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "Who?"

"Anthony and Isabella," Joshua said.

"One is your half-brother, who lost his true love and his legs, and no longer has any ambitions. The other is your wife, whom you claim to have married to pave the way for Lynda. But have you ever looked at your own heart?"

Sebastian remained silent. The spacious office fell silent.

Sebastian glanced at Joshua but didn't respond to his previous words. He simply said, "Are you in a bad mood today?"

He was already infuriated by Isabella earlier, so Joshua's words didn't exactly please him.

"Yeah, being called can't possibly put anyone in a good mood," Joshua leaned back in his chair and lit a cigarette.

"I also have to deal with some tedious engagement matters, which is frustrating."

"Brother-in-law?" Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "Did you see Brittany?"

"Yeah, I bumped into her at the company entrance."

Joshua took a deep drag of the cigarette, then suddenly remembered something. "Oh, right, I saw her talking to Isabella."

"What did they talk about? Did you overhear?"
"I heard," Joshua answered. "They made plans to go for drinks together."

Sebastian's face darkened.

"They even mentioned going to a lively bar instead of just some place to eat."

Sebastian's face darkened further.

"They're probably getting together to badmouth us. Bars are full of all sorts of people, and those men can get handsy and lecherous."

Sebastian's face darkened yet again.

"I can't control Brittany." Joshua flicked the cigarette ashes away. "But you, keep an eye on Isabella."

After saying that, Joshua stood up. "I'm leaving. Should I continue keeping an eye on Anthony in the future?"

"Keep an eye on him."

"Alright, you're my boss, so your word is final."

The office retained the faint smell of smoke.

Sebastian closed his eyes, tilted his head slightly back, and his facial features appeared exceptionally stern. In this predominantly gray-toned office, he looked so lonely.

Joshua said that Sebastian had made so many decisions and hadn't made any mistakes.

But did he really misjudge Anthony and Isabella?

Was it truly the case?

Isabella sat in her office, flipping through Sebastian's meeting records from the past couple of days.

The Southern Mansion was still on sale with a minimum price starting at fifty million, but the advertising costs had decreased significantly.

However, its reputation and popularity remained, rightfully earning it the title of "King of Mansions."

The Lawarence Group had acquired another prime land site. The stocks had hit the limit...

Looking at the data in front of her, Isabella went from being unfamiliar to familiar, from feeling dizzy to being able to analyze.

She was also growing little by little. Perhaps it was time for her to leave Sebastian when she had one-third of his business acumen.

She had always guessed that Sebastian saved the Wallace family from disaster and married her to have a child, an heir for the Lawrence family.

But it turned out... everything was because of Lynda.

The truth was crueler than she could have imagined. But; she supposed she would get used to it.

It was already 5:30 in the afternoon. As it was time to leave work, there was no movement in the CEO's office, and the secretary's office didn't dare to make any moves.

However, Isabella clocked out openly.

She smiled at Kaine and said, "Kaine, it's time to leave. Why are you still here?"

"Uh... I still have some unfinished work. I'll leave later."

"Then I'll leave first. Bye-bye." Isabella happily walked away.

However, she had just walked out of the secretary's office when she caught a glimpse of the elevator's position and heard the CEO's office door creak open.

Sebastian walked out from inside. Isabella's heart skipped a beat. She had bumped into him at the worst timing, she might not be able to leave on time.

But she still pretended to remain calm, as if she hadn't seen anything, and continued walking forward.

"Stop pretending," Sebastian's voice came from behind her.

"I came here just to find you."

Isabella paused and turned around to look at him.

"Mr. Lawrence, who is always busy, has the leisure to wait for me after work?"

"I'm also leaving work."

"Really? You're not working overtime? No evening appointments?"
"Let's go home together," Sebastian said.

Isabella, however, stood still.

He simply said, "We haven't gone back to Willow Brook Estate together for several days. I want things to return to how they were before. Everything as usual."

"Aren't you still angry with me?"

"If I were really mad at you, you would have annoyed me to death a long time ago."

"I don't have that much power." Sebastian replied.

"There's no one else but you."

He reached out and pressed the elevator button, and the doors opened.

He walked inside. "Come in by yourself, or I'll carry you in. Your choice."

Only then did Isabella take a step forward and entered the elevator.

Sebastian looked straight ahead, not glancing at her, but said, "Why do you stand so far away?"

"I don't want to be next to you."

"But at night, you still have to sleep with me."

"The bed is so wide, you can have your side and I can have mine, and we won't be close."

"What about making a baby?"

Isabella gritted her teeth.

"That doesn't count! It's just a deal!"

Sebastian sneered, "In the end, you'll still be sleeping with me. What's wrong with being close now?"

"Can you please stop talking?"

"No."

“'In your heart, am I trash just like Joshua?'"

"I think I answered this question once before, I don't want to waste my breath anymore."

Sebastian hummed again, "Think whatever you want."

"Then why did you ask?"

Isabella felt that she was becoming more and more capable of choking people herself.

Coincidentally, the elevator door opened, and Sebastian glanced at her sideways, "Keep up!"

Isabella made a grimace at his back.

Sitting in the car, Isabella glanced at his cold profile, "Are you angry again?"

"No."

"If you're angry, just be angry. You can't even admit it, even though you clearly have a stern look on your face," she said, "You've always been angry."

"Is that so? Always?"

"I don't feel like talking to you."

Isabella leaned back and placed her slanted bag in front of her, "One moment you're angry, the next moment you're coming to me, and now you're angry again. I don't know what you're doing."

"I want to make amends with you."

Isabella was originally going to close her eyes and rest, not wanting to look at him, but because of his words, she widened her eyes and stared at him, "Amends?"

"Yes." Sebastian nodded slightly, "Isabella, since Lynda came back, you... have become hostile towards me."

"I haven't."

"You can deny it." He said, "But I hope that the way we interact can still be like before Lynda came back."

Isabella couldn't help but wonder how her relationship with Sebastian was before Lynda came back.
