Chapter 109: She was the only one who went to plead with Sebastian
Mr. Watson was already in his sixties, an age when he should be enjoying his retirement, but because of the trouble caused by his son, he was now running around, seeking help from everyone.
However, Sebastian was determined. No amount of pleading would work, and the Lawrence family wasn't planning to intervene either. They allowed Sebastian to handle it as he pleased, even showing a bias towards Isabella...
This made the Watson family feel like ants on a hot pan, anxiously spinning around.
They tried every possible method, and now, they finally obtained some clues from Grace.
"Grace, please sit," Mr. Watson greeted her, "It's been a while since I saw you, and you've become even more beautiful."
"Uncle Watson, I... um, I have something else to attend to, this meal..."
Before she could finish her sentence, someone forcefully slammed the door shut.
Grace was startled, "What does this mean, Uncle Watson? Are you not allowing me to leave?"
"I believe you know about my unfilial son's situation. You also understand why I've come to you."
Grace gritted her teeth. The Watson’s had pushed all the blame onto her to save that worthless fool!
"Uncle Watson, since we've come to this point, I won't beat around the bush. I can't help with your son's matter. It's already difficult enough for me to protect myself."
"But you have laid hands on the Lawrence Family's Second Lady, yet here you stand unharmed and managed to leave Sebastian's grasp. Surely you have a way," insisted Mr. Watson.
Grace shook her head, "Uncle Watson, I don't have a way. Besides, let's not casually mention insufficient evidence."
Regardless of the situation or who she was facing, she would never admit it.
The Turner family had repeatedly urged her to stick to her story and not confess.
Mr. Watson looked at her, "Indeed, no one has any evidence. But everyone knows that you were the mastermind behind it, including Sebastian. The one in prison is just your scapegoat, paid off with some money."
"Uncle Watson, please be careful with your words."
"I don't intend to do anything to you. I just hope that you can tell me what you did to make Sebastian spare you."
Grace gritted her teeth, "Uncle Watson, let me be frank. These two matters are different in nature. Your son boldly tried to harass Mrs. Lawrence. There are eyewitnesses, physical evidence, and he was caught in the act. It's impossible to evade punishment!"
Mr. Watson paused for a moment, as if he understood something.
To vent her frustration, Grace sent someone to complete a very private and highly secretive task for her...
Isabella was put into a sack and dumped in the wilderness by someone. The entire Lawrence family's bodyguards were dispatched, searching everywhere, almost turning New York upside down!
Wasn't this a major incident?
Yes!
That night, everyone speculated on the whereabouts of Mrs. Lawrence and who kidnapped her. If caught, there would be dire consequences!
However, an unknown small fry took on all the blame, and the situation calmed down.
But Grace continued to live a normal life, just with a lower profile.
But what about the young master of the Watson family?
He directly went to taunt Mrs. Lawrence himself, even slapped her and was disrespectful to Sebastian!
There was no chance for a scapegoat!
"Uncle Watson," Grace looked at his changing expression, "so... you should understand, right?"
"Then... there's really no solution?" he asked.
"I am also powerless. I heard that Sebastian loves his wife deeply and cherishes her," Grace said, "this time, it seems your son is in great danger."
In an instant, Mr. Watson seemed to age ten years.
But he still asked, "Why did Sebastian spare you, back then... why? Your actions were not any less severe than my son's..."
"Uncle Watson, I'm sorry."
"No, there must be a way, there must be!" Mr. Watson, desperate to save his son, stared at Grace. "Will you help or not?"
"You can't force me..."
Mr. Watson said, "If you don't help me figure out a solution, we will both be ruined!"
Grace looked at him. "Uncle Watson, what are you planning to do?"
"Grace, just think about it. If I go to the Willowbrook Estate and tell Sebastian and his wife that you instructed someone to dump Mrs. Lawrence in the wilderness... can you imagine what would happen?"
Grace's face turned pale. "You... you're out of your mind!"
"If I can't save my son, I won't care about anything anymore!"
The two confronted each other for a long time.
Grace thought to herself that she needed to stabilize the Watson family first. If she stubbornly refused, it would only push the situation to its limits, and no one would fare well then!
She would figure out a solution later!
"Fine," Grace nodded. "I'll do my best to think of a solution for you, Uncle Watson. Stay calm and wait for my message."
"I don't have much time!"
"If I have a solution, I'll inform you immediately!"
After finally stabilizing Mr. Watson's emotions, Grace quickly left the private room.
She was extremely anxious, her hands sweating, her heart racing, feeling light-headed even as she walked...
What should she do? What should she do?
In fact, Grace had no idea why Sebastian spared her. Perhaps it was because the Turner Family was not to be messed with? But the Watson family were also prominent figures in New York! The more she thought about it, the more confused and anxious she became, causing Grace to trip and fall to the ground.
A passing waitress, seeing the situation, quickly caught hold of her. "Miss, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, I'm fine..."
Grace waved her hand, barely stabilizing herself. As she prepared to leave, she lifted her head and saw a woman entering through the entrance.
The woman was tall and had beautifully long curly hair that reached her waist. She had a graceful demeanor, wearing a dress, and her complexion was slightly pale, making her appear fatigued. However, she was still beautiful and gentle.
Lynda!
Grace recognized her at a glance!
Lynda had actually returned to New York! She was able to come back to New York one day!
Immediately, Grace turned and hid in a corner, dialing Mr. Watson's number. Her voice trembled noticeably as she spoke, "I have a plan, I've come up with a plan!"
"What? Tell me quickly! Grace, I knew you could help!"
"Do you remember Lynda?" Grace said. "If I'm not mistaken, the Watson family has a deep relationship with her."
"Lynda?"
"Yes."
Mr. Watson asked, "Didn't she go abroad? Why did she come back? And, how can she help me?"
"Uncle Watson, you just don't understand," Grace laughed. "The only person who can plead in front of Sebastian now is her!"
After hanging up, Grace looked up but there was no sign of Lynda anymore. However, she firmly believed... that she was not mistaken! Her vision was clear!
Isabella, are you still feeling proud? Weren't you noble and arrogant? It seems that you, Isabella, won't be able to hold onto the position of Mrs. Lawrence!
