Chapter 415 Monitoring Her in a Different Way

Her eyes flickered with emotion, and her thoughts started buzzing.

Even though his idea got shot down, Sebastian didn't lose his cool. He just gave a sly grin. "Nice, you didn't fall for it. You wouldn't be so easy to trick if I let you loose."

He grinned indulgently.

That grin, like a stone tossed into a pond, sent ripples through Isabella's heart.

Isabella quickly looked away, biting her lip.

But her heart was racing, always remembering the beat it should have when in love.

Isabella had never felt so frustrated before. She looked down and kicked at the pebbles on the ground.

Sebastian watched her profile, his gaze intense and unwavering.

Then, his smile slowly faded, and his lips pressed into a thin line.

Divorce? Not happening. Sometimes, taking a step back was smarter than charging ahead.

Just like now, Sebastian was sure Isabella had softened up again.

He always knew she couldn't leave him. This whole thing, whether blown up or played down, was so minor.

Sebastian flashed another faint smile.

He turned and walked into Willowbrook Estate.

After he left, Isabella stood there, lost in thought.

Her eyes drifted to the nearby mountain, where the maple leaves had turned a fiery red, blanketing the whole mountain.

She thought it was stunning.

Isabella smiled bitterly.

If it weren't for Sebastian's annoying protection of Lynda, she and Sebastian would probably be playing in that maple forest.

Isabella didn't dare to dream about those future fantasies.

Her heart was already overwhelmed, and she couldn't let it keep hurting.

She thought, 'I didn't do anything wrong.

'Why am I the one suffering the most in the end?

'The one who loves the most always hurts the most, right?

'Is loving someone with all my heart really that cheap?'

Isabella smiled tragically.

Honestly, if she didn't love Sebastian, she wouldn't care or hurt.

But how could she stop loving him?

Isabella couldn't think of any way.

Loving him seemed to be etched into her very bones.

Then she muttered to herself, "Isabella, you're really pathetic."

She cursed herself in her heart. What Sebastian did was actually unforgivable.

But she still hadn't given up.

"What are you thinking about?" A deep, magnetic voice broke through her thoughts.

Isabella pursed her lips and saw Sebastian had rolled down the car window, revealing his chiseled face.

"Get in," Sebastian looked up at her and said, "I have a quiet little villa in the suburbs. I'll take you there."

She wondered how this was any different from another way of keeping tabs on her.

Isabella reached out her hand. "I'm not going. I want my phone."

As if he had anticipated her response, Sebastian said, "Get in the car, and I'll give it to you once you're in."

"Forget it, keep it if you like. It's boring." Isabella stopped looking at Sebastian and started walking forward.

Sebastian chuckled helplessly.

Her personality hadn't changed at all, always quick-witted.

He drove alongside her, matching her pace.

The difference was, Isabella was walking, and Sebastian was driving.

"Can't do anything about you," Sebastian stopped the car, got out, grabbed her wrist, and helped her put on a coat. "The phone is in the pocket."

As he talked, he squatted down and helped Isabella put on her shoes.

Sebastian's grip was firm, and Isabella had no choice but to let him do his thing.

His fingers brushed against her skin, sending electric jolts through her. Isabella curled her toes, stared straight ahead, and slowly clenched her hands at her sides.

When Sebastian finally let go, she muttered a "thanks" and walked forward with her head down.

Sebastian's car kept trailing her.

When she reached the bus stop, Isabella hopped on the bus as soon as it pulled up.

"Don't follow me." At the bus door, through the glass and the car window, Isabella mouthed silently to Sebastian.

Their eyes locked, and Isabella was sure Sebastian got the message.

Because she could see from his moving lips that he was saying, "One week, I'll be waiting for you."

And his reluctant gaze was slowly sinking into her.

Isabella didn't want to look anymore and took a seat.

She lowered her head, clasped her hands together, and the pain swept through her body, making her feel miserable all over.

After aimlessly riding the bus for about half an hour, Isabella opened her eyes and saw a hotel.

She thought, 'This'll do.'

When the bus stopped, she got off.

This area was a commercial district near a university, and on a Friday evening, it was buzzing, with couples everywhere, and the air seemed to be filled with the scent of love.

Isabella felt out of place and had to return to the bus stop to find another place to crash.

"Isabella?"

Hearing someone call her name, Isabella snapped back to reality.

Not far away, Brittany and Larry stood side by side.

The two of them, whether in terms of height or looks, were a perfect match, pleasing to the eye and making people feel happy just by looking at them.

Isabella couldn't help but wonder if their relationship had developed during this time.

A glimmer of light flashed in Isabella's eyes. If Brittany could really move on from her broken relationship with Joshua, that would be the best.

"Brittany, Larry." Isabella smiled faintly and greeted them politely.

She tried her best not to let Brittany notice anything unusual.

Isabella didn't want her own issues to mess up Brittany's date.

When her eyes met Brittany's, she forced herself not to look away and even widened her smile.

Little did she know, her actions seemed so obvious because Brittany had done the same thing before.

Brittany awkwardly said to Larry, "Larry, can we reschedule dinner for tomorrow? I haven't seen Isabella in a while, and we have some things to talk about."

Over the past month, Brittany and Larry's relationship had made significant progress, and she could be direct.

And Larry, of course, noticed that something was off with Isabella.

"No need," Isabella waved her hand repeatedly and said, raising an ambiguous eyebrow at Brittany, "I'm heading home. You two go ahead."

Brittany observed Isabella's expression, which seemed normal.

The problem was, Willowbrook Estate was far away from here.

"What a coincidence," Larry glanced at his phone, a bit helpless. "I have an emergency surgery, so I have to leave."
