Chapter 74 Do you truly care or are you deceiving me?

From where she was standing, she had a clear view of the office desk. Sebastian was currently bowing his head, holding a pen, and reviewing documents. He looked somewhat handsome in this posture.

There's something attractive about a man who works diligently.

However, since he was busy, she decided not to disturb him.

Just as Isabella was about to slip away, she heard Sebastian's voice, "Come out, what are you hiding?"

He... was talking to her?

Following that, she heard Sebastian say, "Or perhaps you want to relive yesterday again?"

Isabella shivered, suddenly feeling weak in the legs. Reliving it again? She hadn't been able to get out of bed these past two days!

She quickly walked out of the rest area, saying, "I didn't want to disturb you..."

Sebastian raised his head, glanced at her, and looked downwards. "Doesn’t it hurt anymore?"

"...If it hurts, will you go easy on me tonight?"

"I will."

"It hurts, it hurts," Isabella immediately said, "Haven't you noticed that my walk... it's different from before?"

He raised an eyebrow, "Is it?"

"Yes, really."

"But just now, you seemed completely normal..."

"It really hurts," Isabella pitifully pleaded, "Give me a break."

Sebastian's energy in bed was truly beyond her imagination. Moreover, the most important thing was that after it was over, he seemed energetic and not at all fatigued.

Truly... speechless!

He put the pen down and gestured with his finger, "Come here."

Isabella obediently walked over.

Sebastian patted his thigh, "Sit."

So, she could only sit on his lap and muttered, "Why do you always act so affectionate in the office... this is a workplace, not a home."

"You wouldn't be as comfortable at home."

Sebastian's hand wrapped around her waist, while his other hand slid down, reaching the edge of her skirt.

Isabella's internal alarm bells went off, "What, what, what are you doing!"

"You said it hurts, right?" he held her still-moving body, "Let me take a look."

"What?"

What was Sebastian saying? Letting him take a look? How would he even do that? And what would happen after?

"No, I don't want to," Isabella firmly refused, "Yes, it hurts, but... it's something that will get better in a couple of days. What is there to see?"

Sebastian calmly said, "If I don't check, then how can I be sure if you truly hurt or if you're deceiving me, hmm?"

"It really hurts, I swear," she tightly held onto her skirt, determined not to let him see, "Stop looking... I'm begging you, please."

He tilted his head and met her gaze, maintaining eye contact for several seconds before finally retracting his hand.

Isabella sighed in relief.

Sebastian leaned back on the chair, lazily resting his hand on her waist, lightly stroking her, "Are you hungry?"

"I had lunch already."

"Waking up in the afternoon..." Sebastian paused, "I guess I exhausted you too much yesterday."

“You noticed...” she replied.

"I'll make it up to you tonight." He seemed in a good mood. "What do you want to eat?"

"Do you think I need to eat all the time... Ever since I fainted from low blood sugar last time?" Isabella asked.

Sebastian asked, “Don’t you have dinner at night?”

Isabella cautiously began, "Actually, there's something I need to tell you..."

“Go ahead.”

"I have plans tonight... I made a promise."

As soon as the words came out, Sebastian's aura dropped several degrees.

He raised his hand and pressed his temple. "Let me give you another chance to say it."

“I really have plans tonight,” Isabella fearlessly answered, “I already agreed with them.”

"Who?"

“Brittany. And Emily.”

Sebastian pursed his lips. "When did you become so close with Brittany?"

"Seems we get along," she replied, "So, you see, it's all planned, and it's just girls. It wouldn't be good if a grown man like you went..."

He asked, "What if I say I want to go?"

Isabella suddenly started coughing.

Seeing that she was genuinely choking, Sebastian reached out and gently patted her back. "Never seen such a foolish woman like you."

"No... cough... it's not," she finally recovered, "You... cough... going to a dinner with three women, it's bound to be awkward! Others might... cough... think you're enjoying yourself with multiple partners!"

"I'm not bothered, why are you?" he retorted.

As he spoke, he handed her a glass of water.

Isabella immediately took it, drank a large gulp, moistened her throat, and felt a bit more comfortable, stopping her cough.

But...

Looking at the glass in her hand, then back to Sebastian, she asked, “Is this... your cup?”

"Do you think there would be someone else's things in my office?"

Isabella: “...”

Sebastian squinted dangerously, "Disgusted?"

"No, no!" She immediately shook her head, then lowered it and took another sip, "Why would I be disgusted!"

Isabella had her mouth full of water. She must not anger this man, as she would have to appease him.

He’s not easy to appease.

Sebastian lowered his head. "Perfect, I'm also thirsty."

"Mmm..."

Leaving her lips, Sebastian wiped away the water droplets at the corner of his mouth with his fingertip. "Tastes sweet."

Her face slightly flushed. Despite feeling shy, she was starting to get accustomed to moments like this.

Isabella realized that getting accustomed to something could be a scary thing.

"Would you go home tonight?" she softly persuaded him, "I'll come back home after having dinner with them, or maybe you..."

"Ask the driver to take me there and pick me up later."

“What time should I pick you up?”

Isabella thought for a moment. "Around nine o'clock, I guess."

“That’s too late.”

"... Is it considered late these days to get home at nine, after having dinner?"

“Eight-thirty,” Sebastian said, “I want to see the person you’re meeting at Willowbrook Estate.”

"Why is it suddenly eight-thirty? Nine is a little earlier. What if we have a great time chatting and want to go somewhere after dinner..."

Sebastian interrupted calmly, “Eight o’clock.”

Isabella covered Sebastian's mouth and said, "Okay, eight-thirty, deal. I'll definitely be home on time!"

A smile played at the corners of his eyes.

She looked at him and said, "Starting tomorrow, I'll be a proper person, go to work on time, and act like a secretary. I can't keep disappearing like this every day."

“Who was talking about it? ”

"No one," Isabella shook her head, "I just think it's not a good impression."

"You are my secretary, and it's up to me to judge whether you're doing well or not, understand?"

"Oh..." Isabella asked, "Then, Mr. Lawrence, how much salary do you plan to give me per month?"

"Salary?"
