Chapter 403 Why Did Grace Slander You?

Of course, Sebastian wouldn't say the rest; such a mindset was too frightening.

He was afraid his assertiveness and possessiveness would scare Isabella.

"What?" Isabella suspected Sebastian was planning something.

She was almost suffocating now, her head buzzing, unable to hear what Sebastian was saying.

Sebastian changed to a gentler tone, saying, "I want to keep you firmly by my side."

"That's simple." Isabella pushed Sebastian back a bit, catching her breath first, then extended her right hand, "The ring is already being custom-made."

However, Sebastian thought it wasn't enough.

Even if she put on the ring, it could be taken off.

It was not enough at all for Sebastian.

Sebastian could feel that his emotions were off today. It was Isabella's trust in him that drew out more of his greed.

"The ring I designed for you is perfect. I love it so much, and I want to tempt you first."

Speaking of this topic, Isabella remembered something.

Her eyes immediately lit up, and she grabbed Sebastian's wrist, placing his large hand on her protruding belly.

"Babies, kick Daddy, and let him know how strong you are." Isabella lowered her head with a faint smile.

Sebastian was mesmerized.

Unfortunately, the two babies were very arrogant, not moving at all.

Isabella felt a bit disappointed.

She really wanted Sebastian to experience the joy of interacting with the babies.

She waited for a long time, but nothing happened. In the end, she gave up.

Isabella shrugged at Sebastian, pouting, just about to sigh when her belly was kicked.

Instantly, Isabella's eyes brightened even more. She excitedly grabbed Sebastian's arm and exclaimed in surprise, "Did you feel that! The baby is saying hello to you!"

Sebastian couldn't describe the feeling.

It was very unfamiliar; this was his first time experiencing it.

The fetal movement under his palm had long since stopped, but Sebastian's hand remained.

His arm became stiff, an unfamiliar warmth spreading through his body.

Isabella looked at him, her face gradually cracking a smile.

She teased Sebastian, "I thought you would be composed, but you're just like me."

Sebastian awkwardly coughed, which made Isabella laugh even more freely. "It's normal for first-time parents. Why are you so stiff? What are you trying to hide?"

The hallway echoed with Isabella's unrestrained laughter.

Sebastian wasn't annoyed. Instead, he gazed at her, his eyes full of affection.

The secretaries, daring not to leave at the end of the workday, looked at each other.

'Could Mr. Lawrence express his love in his office?' they thought.

Isabella laughed enough and finally stopped, her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue.

She shyly licked her lips and looked up at Sebastian. "Before I came here, I ran into a disgusting person. Actually, I was in a pretty bad mood. But with you by my side, all my unhappiness were gone. I think I can eat a lot for lunch."

Sebastian took Isabella's hand and led her away. "Let's go eat. No matter how much you eat, I can afford to feed you."

"No, no. I can't eat as much as I want, or I'll gain weight quickly," Isabella murmured softly.

Then, she added, "Wait, shouldn't you ask me who the disgusting person was? What happened?"

Sebastian pressed the button for the underground garage floor, pausing when he heard Isabella say that.

However, he perfectly concealed his hesitation and stiffness.

"Why ask? If you wanted to tell me, you would have said it directly. Since you didn't, it means you don't want to. You have your privacy; I can't interfere in everything." he said calmly.

"That's true." Isabella was led into his reasoning, nodding in agreement.

"Do you want to tell me now?" Sebastian asked, "I'm listening."

"Didn't Mario tell you?" Isabella asked casually.

Sebastian paused for two seconds, then shook his head, responding calmly, "No. What should he have told me?"

"Probably he hasn't reached Willowbrook Estate yet. When he gets back, he'll tell you," Isabella explained on Mario's behalf, then said, "It was Grace. She showed up."

"Grace?" Sebastian frowned, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly.

"Yes." Isabella's smile gradually disappeared. "I ran into her after leaving the jewelry store. She wanted to kidnap me to threaten you to leave her alone."

Sebastian sneered, "Overreaching herself."

"Yeah. So after Mario restrained her, she probably thought she couldn't escape and tried to provoke me to cause a miscarriage."

Sebastian's eyes quickly turned icy.

Isabella met Sebastian's cold gaze and continued, "She told me you already had evidence of Lynda harming me but didn't deal with her, saying you even found a scapegoat for Lynda, letting her bear all the blame."

The elevator was silent.

The two of them looked at each other.

Isabella quietly pinched her palm, staring at Sebastian, trying to find any clues in his eyes.

He stood tall and upright, open and unflinching, letting her look.

"Isabella." Sebastian broke the silence first, asking, "Are you doubting me?"

Sebastian asked so calmly, his voice steady, as if he were asking a most ordinary question.

Yet his demeanor made Isabella see his grievance, striking her softest spot, waves of guilt and heartache flooding in.

She shouldn't have doubted him.

She should trust him with all her heart.

"I trust you more. Otherwise, I'd be making a scene right now." Isabella raised her hand in assurance, anxious. "Really, I'm serious. Don't be mad."

Isabella bit her lower lip, shaking Sebastian's arm.

She was very nervous, worried that Sebastian was upset, worried that she had hurt him.

Sebastian glanced at Isabella indifferently.

"I will never doubt you again, I'll trust you unconditionally," Isabella immediately said.

"Really?" Sebastian asked.

"Yes!"

Sebastian, satisfied with Isabella's promise, gently rubbed her head.

He leaned down, kissed her round earlobe, lightly bit it, and softly praised her, "Good girl."

The elevator stopped at the second basement level. Isabella blushing as she followed Sebastian out.

She dominantly held Sebastian's hand, intertwining her fingers with his.

Her body leaned mostly on Sebastian, her head resting on his arm.

"Why do you think Grace would slander you?" Isabella sighed, "I'm not an idiot. Between my husband and someone who harmed me, I would certainly believe my husband. This way, she can't provoke me."
