Chapter 342 Your Engagement Gift

Sebastian's expression remained serious, and Isabella chuckled, "Don't be so serious. It makes me feel like I'm super important."

Sebastian's face changed instantly, raising an eyebrow. "Aren't you important?"

"Alright, alright, important, and I'm your weak spot. I get it. I'll be the domineering boss in Maple Valley, relying on your favor." Isabella's eyes sparkled mischievously.

He chuckled softly, "With me around, you'll be safe. No one would dare hit you."

"But what if you bully me?"

Before Sebastian could respond, Isabella interjected, "Even better, I have plenty of ways. After all, you've given me your heart."

Isabella grabbed Sebastian's face, teasingly pulling it from side to side, threatening, "When the time comes, I'll find the most ruthless way. My heart will be as cold as ice."

Sebastian smirked confidently, "I'm sorry, you won't have that chance."

He held Isabella's hand, squinting, "You're the only one who dares to pinch my face like this, always."

Isabella remembered her bold actions the day they got married, and her smile grew even brighter.

Sebastian gently tugged her nose, holding her hand as they sat on the couch. He picked up a leather bag from the coffee table and handed it to Isabella.

Confused, Isabella raised an eyebrow, looking at Sebastian.

"Open it." Sebastian's arm rested naturally on the back of the couch behind Isabella.

Isabella met Sebastian's gaze for a moment, then bent down to untie the white string on the leather bag, pulling out a stack of papers.

As she flipped through the pages, her heart sank deeper.

Gradually, her hands began to tremble.

"These shares belong to the Wallace Group?" Isabella looked up, locking eyes with Sebastian.

Playing with Isabella's hair and wrapping it around his finger, Sebastian explained, "Investing in the Wallace family wasn't unconditional. It was for this thirty percent stake."

"All that I said a few days ago was just talk in anger. No one can take away your engagement gift." Sebastian's voice was firm, each word hitting Isabella's heart.

"Why are you giving this to me all of a sudden?" Isabella still couldn't grasp it.

It was all so abrupt.

Sebastian pressed Isabella against his shoulder, his arm sliding down to wrap around her waist, his slightly calloused fingers gently rubbing her soft skin.

"The project you recently worked on was highly successful, reaching a million-dollar level. Naturally, you need to continue with bigger projects. I've said it before, the current operating model of the Wallace Group is outdated and rigid. It needs a new leader. I've had Kaine keep an eye on the Wallace Group. In four months, the Wallace Group will hold a shareholders' meeting. You will step forward and claim what's rightfully yours."

Sebastian spoke methodically, but his words ignited a strong desire in Isabella.

The blood in Isabella's body grew hot, rushing through her veins.

She looked up at Sebastian excitedly. "Can I do it?"

"You're my student, Isabella." Sebastian leaned lazily on the couch. "Four months is sufficient for me to impart my knowledge to you. Besides, even if you haven't learned much from me as a teacher, I'm still your husband. Whatever you do, I'll always support you."

Isabella couldn't help but think Sebastian was too good at sweet talk!

He was a master at romance. She felt weak in the knees!

"My husband is simply amazing. I'm completely convinced!" Isabella's eyes were filled with adoration. Nestling in Sebastian's arms, she nuzzled against him, "It must be my mother watching over me from heaven that led me to you on that rainy night. I'm so lucky."

The mention of the rainy night sparked a flicker of panic in Sebastian's eyes, almost invisible.

But soon, that hint of panic vanished, replaced by overwhelming joy.

Lowering his gaze, his voice trembling. "What did you just say?"

Isabella gazed at him, "Lucky?"

"No, the sentence before that." Sebastian's grip tightened, his deep blue eyes like a whirlpool, trying to draw Isabella in.

Captivated by his gaze, Isabella hesitated, "You're amazing, I'm completely convinced."

"No, what did you call me?" Sebastian directly questioned, "Husband?"

Isabella was about to say it, but the word got stuck in her throat after the first syllable.

She stood there, mouth agape, stunned.

A blush crept up Isabella's cheeks, her ears, neck, and corners of her eyes all turning pink.

She had called him that before, but this time it was different.

From this day forward, Sebastian was her true acknowledged husband, the man she would grow old with.

Sebastian rolled over, pinning Isabella on the couch, enticing her, "My Isabella, be good, say it for me."

Isabella, feeling clouded and her body trembling lightly, took a deep breath. A wave of heat rose in her throat, pushing the words she had hidden to the tip of her tongue—"My husband."

Sebastian's chest swelled, a myriad of electric currents running through his body. He leaned in uncontrollably, biting her plump earlobe.

Then, in a low, almost inaudible voice, he murmured, "Baby, you're so good."

Isabella almost lost her breath, feeling like she was being roasted on a grill, her whole body burning, every inch of her skin radiating heat.

Sebastian enjoyed Isabella's affection and admiration, contentedly rubbing her round head.

His throat tightened, a tender smile on his face. He moved away from her, standing on the carpet, bending down to lift her and place her on the bed.

"Go to sleep. I'll go take a shower." Sebastian covered Isabella with a thin blanket.

Isabella lay quietly on the bed, obedient and compliant.

"Okay," She sweetly replied.

Sebastian stood by the bed, looking down at Isabella. Her current state, allowing him to toy with her like this, was like a potent aphrodisiac, igniting a raging fire within him.

"Be good, sleep now." With those words, he dared not linger any longer, striding towards the bathroom.

Isabella's smile was radiant as she listened to the sound of running water from the bathroom, slowly closing her eyes.

Feeling secure, Isabella began to feel drowsy.

As she drifted off to sleep, a warm body approached a familiar and woody fragrance enveloping her.

Isabella's lips curved up as she nestled into the person's embrace, murmuring, "You're back."

Sebastian embraced her, patting her back gently, planting a kiss on her forehead, "Sleep well, I'm back. Goodnight."

Isabella faintly felt Sebastian's gentle kiss and the light touch on her abdomen.
